We hadn't been to this location since before COVID so I was looking forward to seeing any changes, or the friendly faces and music/dancing. This was the HALFWAY to ST. PATRICK'S day celebration, so it was much more scaled down than the Irish Fest. The only rooms open were the Fifth Province bar and the showroom with the stage. The upstairs area was closed off, as well as the parking lot, which usually featured booths for food and merchandise. I only indulged in a Black Velvet (half Guinness/half cider) but it tasted awesome! They had few non-red meat options, fried fish/chips and salad, so I passed, as this was my beef-free time. I may suggest some non-meat proteins, but it's about supply-demand in this market. The music and dancing were good as usual, but there was tv on near the bar for breaks, and the gift shop with food and merch was a plus. I bought some Irish soda bread to take home, it's usu SO good. A friend mentioned Sunday Teas upcoming with an actress portraying Emily Dickenson and Oscar Wilde's mother Jane! I may consider one of these events, when the place does not seem SO far away.

I was here to deliver some items for an event. Never knew this was a historic place. The lady told me this was an irish heritage place. Full of historical items inside the building. Wish they have a tour i would definitely come and visit.

    Gaelic Storm was incredible!

Always such fun events here!!! Love joining my friend for different benefits and concerts throughout year. Very nice people, bartenders work really hard. Love that I can buy Crunchies at the Gift store! Older building so can get hot in places but highly recommend! Drinks are great!!!! Food every time I've eaten at an event is very good also! Great opportunities to hear Irish music and dance!!

Beautiful community/heritage center. I came here for a convention and had previously seen shows here with my Polish school of all things. Lovely staff, clean space, and a cute gift shop! I bought some great soda bread here!

This is a fabulous place to visit if you're Irish or not. I am Irish, so I found everything to be very fascinating. I learned so much during my visit. Our group of about 15 were guided throughout the IAHC by Joy, Bill & Jack. We spent about 1 hour 30 minutes browsing the various parts of the building including the library, "5th Province" and looking at artifacts in the museum. Would call ahead to find out when certain portions of the building are open to the public. The gift shop was a fun way to end the tour as well. Free parking lot parking. Highly recommend.

The building is pretty unassuming on the outside and looks a lot smaller than it actually is. Once you're in, the main space indoors is a big open bar with some tables/booths and places to sit but also a lot of standing room. There is a big drink menu that is projected onto the wall that is pretty beer heavy, but there are some other options for non beer drinkers! I got a jalapeno ranch water that was really good. There is a large patio space that looks so fun for the summer. The concert venue is in the back. It's pretty small, but perfect for more intimate shows. We had so much fun!! This place really is such a gem, and I can't wait to come back for some drinks on the patio when the weather warms up.

We sat at the bar, because it's my default settings or my AuDHD need for routine. Very attentive bartender who greeted us right as we sat down. I'll be honest. I ordered a gin and tonic. My estimation is that this G&T was 75% tonic. I didn't say anything because I don't know what to say. I also do not like confrontation. The venue itself is fantastic! We were there to see KING MALA. ADORE EVERYTHING ABOUT HERE. My boyfriend sprung for VIP tickets. I have no money but meeting her was amazing. Highly recommend seeing a chow here. Intimate, great sound, and a bar inside who made me an on point G&T!

Notable things: Bonus points for a having a free parking lot (and easy street parking) It's cash only Good vibes. Very eclectic mix of people (especially because it was weekend before Halloween so the costumes were entertaining). A+ for never feeling creeped out by any of the patrons. They were all very supportive of people singing and gave us tips about how to search for songs on the app if we wanted to do that instead of look through the book. The karaoke seems to be first come first served, so we got there a little after 10 and no one from our group sang until 2am (from what I heard the next day. I tapped out at 1:30am). The same handful of people kept singing every few songs, so they must have all gotten there early and put in like 20 songs each. There were also a lot of repeats (I heard "What's Up?" by 4NB 4 times in the first hour I was there). It would be nice if the KJ bumped newer people up sooner before circling back to people who had already sung like 7 times, and if they pushed back song repeats, but in the end we're all just there for a good time and everyone sings along to everything, so it's fine. They card everyone and do scrutinize closely, which is good. One younger-looking girl in our group had to pull back her hair to prove it was her in her photo because her license photo had her hair slicked back. Food was decent. I didn't drink anything but the people I was with seemed happy with their drinks/they kept ordering more. They have video slots. One person in our group won $60 and one person lost $10 in 30 seconds, so it's hit or miss lol. I didn't go to the bathroom while I was there so I can't speak to cleanliness that other reviewers have mentioned. They're open to 4am, which is awesome. I tapped out at 1:30 because I'm old now, but if I was in my 20s I'd love the 4am thing. I'd go back with a group again.

There's 2 stalls in the women's room and I question if the walls have ever been cleaned. They do private parties which is kind of neat. "Welcome back." I…read morehesitate. I know with absolute certainty that I have never stepped foot in Chicago. Yet, the bartenders greet us with such a warm and friendly energy that I know with absolute certainly that I have been a regular at this bar for years. Decades. Centuries. I know within my soul that this was my go-to bar in a past life (and hopefully in the next). Just as welcoming as the awesome people are the $1 PBRs and $3 shots of tequila. And of course they hand out free hot dogs every night at midnight, which in my (intoxicated) mind was cemented as the definitive Chicago dog, even if it comes with no toppings whatsoever. And fittingly complementing the amazing energy of the bar is a 10 hour Youtube video of that memed Ukrainian kid dancing at a club playing endlessly on the TVs. Rocking sunglasses and looking like a stud, absolutely grooving without a single care in the world, and effortlessly matching every single song on the bar's playlist. That kid truly embodies the spirit of this bar. No matter what day it is, what time of day it is, or who visits, the bar's energy always works. Vibing to Black Eyed Peas on a Monday night never felt better. Imma be... back one day, rest assured. I genuinely can't wait for the next time I'm greeted with, "Welcome back."
