Checked out this bar recently because it looked cool. It's a pretty friendly neighborhood bar along Pulaski. The Cabin gets its name because that's what it looks like. Has kind of a rustic European feel. There's good drinks and music. About as cozy as a bar gets. It's certainly not well known outside the neighborhood. This is just a place you happen to come across sometime. It's about $9 for the better cocktails. There's cheap and more expensive. Also they happened to have a nacho bar. This is usually when there's a game. Good place to hang a bit. It's on Pulaski a few blocks north of Irving Park. They have some good drinks and even maybe free food sometimes.

The cabin is a cozy bar in Old Irving Park. Don't mistake it with the frat bar in the gold coast. This bad boy is warm and filled with locals. They have limited food/snacks, but a good selection of beers and spirits. Private party room available for use.

Highly recommend the Cabin if you're looking for a small place with fantastic atmosphere and friendly people. We came in here on a Sunday afternoon and we're immediately welcomed and the owner even came over and introduced himself. They were playing '80s music which is right up my alley and have great beer specials every single day. Bathroom is tiny but overall the Cabin is a perfect spot to come in and grab a drink with some good company!

I like this place. Very tiny, but great. Nice people and the owner is a great man! I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a drink on the Wednesday evening!

Their sandwiches are awesome!! Everything so fresh and a good snack while having a drink.

This place rocks! I live in the neighborhood. The decor makes the bar so cozy! Everyone is friendly and their beer is cheap! Danny the bartender was super nice! Attentive. Definitely coming back.

Found a great place with good food and friendly staff. This is not your typical bar, it has been updated. Makes you feel like your at a wooden cabin. It is small but cozy. What I love is that they outlets thru out so you can charge your phone and hooks for your purses. Added bonus for me is that they have the beers I like Crispin and Respoado.

Warm and lovely British pub with delicious pies and efficient service…read more My dining partner and I tried the mushroom and kale and the rocking vegan pies. The mushroom and kale pie was nice and cheesy and the rocking vegan pie was more savoury, with a variety of vegetables and chickpeas as stuffing. The crust was neither too soft nor too crunchy. The highlight of the meal was the curry chips: potato wedges lightly fried with masala and curry leaves. The dipping sauce that came with the chips reminded me of tikka masala sauce, and paired beautifully with the chips. Dessert was toffee pudding: the caramel sauce that came with the pudding was delectable - the pudding itself was excellent and not overly sweet. We tried a variety of NA beers, and I was pleased with how many options they had. Service was quick, and we were well looked after. The ambiance is warm, with dim-ish lighting and a lot of dark wood. The restrooms were gorgeous - special shoutout to the lovely floral wallpaper. Overall, I highly recommend Pleasant House - the vibe is chill and understated and the food is stellar.

The sausage was very tasty, the breading on the outside was incredibly crisp, light, and the egg inside was cooked well. Both the steak pie and the chicken pie were very good. The chicken pie I think really needed the chutney that you can get separately. But that made it so much better and made it my preferred pie. The steak and ale pie was better than the chicken pie as a standalone, but needed a bit more gravy I think to elevate it. Sticky toffee pudding again was delicious. Surprisingly light, not overly dense so I was glad it came with the custard which was very flavorful. Overall, will definitely return!

I had been wanting to try Industry Ales when it opened and was glad to have had the opportunity to finally check it out! I was slightly thrown off, as the dining tables are at the front of this space, and the bar is all the way at the back. In fact, my friend at first glance thought it was a sit-down dining establishment sans bar seating. We found our way to the bar and posted up at two seats. We were offered menus right away and found the bartender extremely knowledgeable. This was super helpful when facing down an encyclopedia of ales. He offered samples when we explained what we were looking for. That is service above and beyond, especially on a bustling Friday early evening. The brews were tasty, but I couldn't really discern what I was drinking apart to say it was a lighter Belgian Ale. Wine is more in my wheelhouse, but always good to change things up, especially when a person has the opportunity to be guided by an expert. The people seated nearby had ordered the tuna tartare which looked delicious. In fact, all of the menu is globally influenced (think: pizza samosas, pierogis, Korean BBQ) in addition to the classic brewpub favorites. In addition to the Brewpub, this location features the Millroom, a speakeasy-style lounge. I did not have a chance to check that out on this visit. Definitely a cut above the usual sports bar and a place to expand one's knowledge of brews.

We were there on Friday, so the fish and chips were all-you-can-eat. So crispy on the outside and flakey on the inside. So yummy. The chips were crispy and paired perfectly with the fish splashed with the malt vinegar. The green peas were good, but my favorite was the Stovies. If you've never had proper Stovies, this is your chance to try them. Potatoes and onions with bits of roast kind of like mashed potatoes or a very thick stew. So yummy. Whiskey fans, you'll love the huge selection along with the impressive beer selection. Yelp should really hype this as a whiskey bar, too. It more than qualifies. The cuisine is phenomenal. Definitely a place to bring a large party on your first visit, so you can sample a multitude of wonderful creations. Pro Tip: if you can tolerate a large quantity of fish, visit on a Wednesday for their AYCE Fish & Chips. I've had many hum drum AYCE dinners that are drab and only fill you up. Not this one. It's a great meal and a great deal. The Shepherd's Pie was fabulous, as was the Bangers and Mash. They've created a Haggis Burger that has to appease Americans, yet, still be haggis. A tall order since most would hate "true" haggis. Fear not, it's not your grandfather's haggis, it is a tasty burger. The fries were great but I'd recommend the Tattie Skins. We tasted so many different malts it was hard to pick a favourite. No foolin' they had island malts, highland malts, speyside and even a couple from the lowlands. Easy to spend over two hours in this public house. We did. Can't wait to get back to this town. This is a must! 02/26

I started with the beet salad, which had that clean sweet/bright balance you want from beets without getting heavy. The Cheeseburger Royale was the kind of burger that makes sense at a refined gastropub: rich, well-built, satisfying, and clearly made with better ingredients than the average restaurant burger. Dessert was the spring pavlova with strawberry and rhubarb, and it was a strong finish -- light, crisp, fresh, and just sweet enough with coffee.
