Getting started with Irish was easy and they were a reasonable price, not the lowest or highest. If we didn't have skylights I don't think their work would have leaked causing severe damage and we would not have noticed they substituted off brand materials. Irish didn't use all Certain-Teed materials as quoted and required by the manufacturer's warranty we paid for. With the complete roof installation, Irish quoted and installed custom flashing for our skylights. This leaked less than 10 days after install of a completely new roof in a home that passed a home inspection less than a year prior with zero history of water damage. They attempted to cover the leak by adding caulk and overall didn't resolve the issue or cover damages. We had to remove much of our dining room ceiling, decorative wood trim, and insulation. Irish offered ($2,400) which was less than 50% of damages and wanted us to pay them that same amount of money for materials to redo the work according to them the way they should have done it originally. We would have had to sign a NDA to receive this small amount of money. We chose to pay another company to redo Irish's work they way it should have originally been done. These repair costs were in addition to damages. During this process we found the underlayment installed by Irish was not branded Certain-Teed as quoted and required by the warranty we paid Irish for, it was substituted for Tri-Shield without permission. A serious warning to anyone considering Irish for a home project. I rarely write negative reviews, but our experience with Irish Roofing and Exteriors has been deeply frustrating, and I feel obligated to warn others. I hired Irish Roofing after a storm caused tree damage and water intrusion to my home. I reached out to Irish Roofing in November 2024 hoping to work with a contractor that understood both construction and insurance claims. Initially, their representative seemed knowledgeable and professional. He made valid recommendations to ensure my home was properly restored--including replacing water-damaged roof decking and involving a county inspector to verify compliance with building codes. But once that representative left the company, everything unraveled. My case was passed along to several people. It was made clear that the insurance estimate alone was insufficient, and the original representative of Irish Roofing agreed--in writing and in communication with my insurance provider (State Farm)--that more extensive repairs were necessary. We entered into the project with a clearly defined and insurance-approved scope of work--ten specific line items. Unfortunately, the work that was completed bore little resemblance to what was agreed upon. Instead of performing the necessary repairs, Irish's crew carried out what amounted to a superficial and inadequate 2x4 patch job. We had a clearly defined scope of work, line items one through ten, which was approved by our insurance company. However, Mike stated he had "a lot of notes... " Rather than completing the agreed-upon repairs, the crew did what amounted to an inadequate 2x4 patch job. Additionally, I requested the installation of a vent fan in the master bathroom. Not only was it left half-attached, but it was installed 15 feet away from where it was supposed to go. This level of negligence is unacceptable from any professional contractor. To make matters worse, they attempted to bill me for the full scope of work--even though it was blatantly obvious that the job was not completed per the agreement. Adding to the terrible experience, was the conduct of the project lead, who provided false and misleading information to our insurance company. He claimed, among other things, that our basement bathroom was improperly vented. The problem? We do not have a basement bathroom. This false statement, along with other inaccuracies, was cited by our insurance provider as justification to deny further coverage--an outcome that directly harmed our claim and left us with unresolved, out-of-pocket repairs. An inspector from the Ionia County building department--who got involved after the fact--confirmed this: the repairs were superficial and the documented damage was not properly addressed. As of now, our roof is leaking--further evidence of the poor quality and lack of attention to detail in the work that was done. Since all of this transpired, my calls and emails have been ignored, and the only "resolution" offered by Irish's president, Chris Flatly, was that they would waive the charge, as if doing shoddy work and walking away from the job was an acceptable outcome. In summary, this experience was not only unprofessional, but also deceptive and damaging. I would strongly urge homeowners to avoid Irish Roofing and Exteriors. Seek out a contractor who values transparency, honors their commitments, communicates clearly, and stands behind their work. Irish failed us on every one of those fronts. The bottom line: * They made promises and broke them. * They deceived me about involving an inspector. * They performed substandard work, ignored structural damage, and may have introduced new damage to my home. * They made false statements to my insurance adjustor, and hurt my claim * They misrepresented the job as complete and billed for it. Run, don't walk away from this roofing company. Ever since I had them redo my home's roof in 2022, my roof has constantly leaked. Each time they send someone out, they assure me that everything is fixed, 100% for real-real this time. Yet after the next heavy rain, we are always finding another leak. In many cases, we find leaks where Irish roofers have come out MULTIPLE times to fix the exact trouble spot. This is not a reputable company. I can't help but wonder how many other leaks there are that I have not found yet. The incompetence or negligence of this company should be criminal. They will use the wrong materials. They will cut corners. They will not install items correctly. They will lie and attempt to gaslight you about the issue rather than attempt to fix it. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

Watch out for these folks. I hired them to replace a rotten and leaking roof on my garage and decided that the house was due as well. I had several companies come out to estimate and Irish came in middle of the road, used good materials, and seemed like they were trustworthy. My sales representative, Dusty, assured me that the entire home was getting a new roof system, front to back, side to side. They even requested I move the vehicles out of the garage so they didn't get debris on them. Almost my entire life savings is now invested in to this shoddy roof job. $18,000. thats a lot of money to a working guy like me. They started work relatively quickly and didn't leave a mess. As they were working, they reached out to approve another 30 sheets of wood for the roof, which I totally expected given the rotten wood that was on the garage roof from several years of leaking. I got home from work after the job was done and to my surprise, the rotten wood was still attached to my garage roof. It is moldy, smelly, and growing fungus. The job I LITERALLY HIRED THEM FOR was not done. Over the course of the next couple of weeks, I've been trying to get in contact with Chris Flatley, their Vice President of project management. After dealing with atrocious communication problems and broken promises, I'm now forced to let the general public know about my experience. Chris says that leaving rotten, moldy wood that's growing fungus is completely normal operation for them and that they are refusing to remove the rotten, moldy wood from the garage because it will be too expensive. Do NOT use Irish for your roofing project. They are full of lies and will stop communicating when they know they have you by the balls with a signed contract. Update: just got an email response from Chris Flatley threatening with attorneys. This is an absolute nightmare. read more

Working with this company is a nightmare. They didn't finish the flashing that connected my roof to my front porch. The project manager Eric F I was working with ghosted me. Irish kept demanding payment, I kept telling them the job wasn't done and the inspector for the city agreed. They wouldn't believe me or send anyone out. Then snow starts melting and my roof started leaking into my front porch. They FINALLY send someone out and they "forgot" to do the whole right side of my porch. Which I knew and was trying to tell them for weeks. That finally gets resolved. I go to pay my bill and I have to drop cash or check off at their office or pay a 3 percent convenience fee to use my credit card. They do not take bank transfers either...it's 2024. read more

Everything about the roofing and gutter experience was great except one thing. The workers were exceptional and we have no complaint about the gutters. When you go with Irish, take a look at the roof before the workers leave. In our case we noticed a pattern of five or six shingles formed a line in our roof. Probably only we could see it but it was definitely there. We asked the site manager the next day and he agreed but said it was just a fluke and offered no solution. The job was for a complete tear off and was quoted one price. Then upon started work added additional $4,000 claiming there's four layers of shingles and needed two dumpster. Why didn't the representative tell me in the beginning while he was inspecting the roof. I asked for proof for the second dumpster receipt. Guess what. There wasn't second dumpster receipt presented. After job completed, I was told to take care of the bill that day when another crew did the inspection. For the soffit I needed replaced. All they did was placed a bare board and said that's a whole new contract to finish it. Very disappointed with this company. read more

This company really knocked it out of the park installing my roof. I'm not a roofing expert but Zachary Lazoski (the production coordinator) did a great job in educating me about the product, installation and warranty. The installation was done in a day, shingles are perfectly straight, drip edges are a perfect fit, ridge vent and flashing look great, and the work area was left as clean as when they got here. It's only been a couple of week but I fully expect my roof to look great and be leakproof for years to come. My neighbor also used Irish a year ago and their roof looks brand new (and no issues). Irish did my new roof a few months ago and it seems to be holding up pretty well. The price was comparable to others in the area and the salesman was great about walking me through the process of figuring out what shingles I needed, etc. My only real complaint is that I had asked several times about installing a single gutter along one side of my roof and this request was ignored. The salesman did follow up with me about the gutter a month after the roof was installed. I had wanted to do it at the same time because it seemed silly to pay for labor and service call just for that, but nevertheless told him via email I was still interested. Two months later I have still not heard back. I hope it won't be this hard to get ahold of them if I need to make use to their warrantee! read more

We got 3 bids on a new Roof, and Irish roofing went above and beyond to beat everyone else's bid, they weren't the cheapest at first. High quality, excellent customer service, and in the end a great looking roof and 30-50 year warranty that is transferable. I normally do all my own remodel work including roofs, but didn't have time, so i hired out, but they did it the right way, and were open to my suggestions and changes as i watched them... Ask for Michael at Irish roofing, he was the main point of contact and did a great job of making sure i got what i wanted and when i wanted it! house was done in 1 day! I had a recent leak after a long rainstorm and therefore was in the market for someone to inspect my roof. On the advise of my friend Mike, I contacted Irish Roofing and Exteriors. The project coordinator (David S.) came to my home in Scotts, MI. He advised that the roof looked decent enough and he didn't recommend replacing it. He asked if it was ok if he caulked a few suspect area. He used him own caulk, was on my roof for approximately 30 minutes, and did the work for free.
