After reading the last review, I am shocked. I don't necessarily know all of the staff personally, but this place has always been a family favorite for us, and the people there are so down to earth, kind, helpful, and efficient. The old man mentioned below has even offered to help us with anything we needed every summer we have been there! The girls that work there are so sweet and hard-working, too. The staff are very accommodating, understanding, and strive to keep everyone safe and comfortable. I can't help but think that the reviewer was acting inappropriately - I know that my family wouldn't appreciate neighbors such as these. The lake is beautiful - there are lots of hiking and biking trails, a small beach area for swimming, paddle boats to rent, and much mmore. We usually stay in the cabins (which are rustic, but accommodating) and have tent camped before. We had reservations for a cabin but had to cancel. No one ever answered their phone, so all we could do was leave a message describing how our vacation was canceled. We called days in advance. They never called us back. But then we saw they charged our credit card for the full three day stay. When we called to ask why they charged us even though we never received anything from them, their attitude was too bad, we just get to keep your money. Just be aware. read more

This place is gorgeous I love going up and hiking around enjoy the cute little lake! The marina/campground however will never receive another dollar from me we have been going up there for years sometimes picnicking on the beach sometimes camping but this lake will now be no more than a day trip for us. The bitter old man who runs the marina is a passive aggressive twat. We recently went camping, it sprinkled for a good portion of the evening so we sat in our tent drank a few beers and went to bed. The next day wile we were making breakfast this old man pulled up and told us we could leave peacefully or he would call the cops to take us off of the property. He also said he would be calling neighboring campgrounds and telling them to ban us a as well. We did nothing out of line we weren't loud or rowdy and this guy's explanation for why he was kicking us out was that two of the five member of his board voted us to kick us out! So I hurried up to finish making breakfast wile every one else packed up camp and some bacon grease slopped out of my pan, within seconds two young teenagers who I assume we're this bitter old mans grand children pulled up on a quad and said " you need to put that fire out right now there is a burn ban and no open burning is permitted" I told them it was a propane camp grill and I wasn't trying to make a fire I just spilled a little grease! They stood there reciting the burn ban laws until the the fire stopped and then they drove off after we got all packed my fiancée went to the marina to try and reason with this guy and let him know that we were disappointed and have been regular customers for years he still gave us no explanation for why we were kicked out he said it was out of his hands and that's what the board decided. He didn't refund us any money we paid his outrageous prices for the whole weekend and got kicked out the first night I'm disgusted at how this guy and his "board" are willing to treat local repeat customers! read more
