Not only were they attentive to the little diva dog the food was really good! Husband had a club sandwich and I had the buffalo wrap. Our diva " Beans " had hamburger and dog food ! One girl ran the show out front. She ended up with 4 tables when we walked in. She was bartender, server and everything else in between! What an excellent employee! Owner if u see this give her a bonus she deserves it!!!! We will definitely go back when we are I. Town again next year! Forgot to mention the tatter tots were crispy and really good too!

My mom and I usually travel with our dogs so we're always looking for pup-friendly spots and were…read moreexcited today to come across Tree House (previously 7th & Elm) and try somewhere new. Not only are dogs allowed to dine inside, but they offer water bowls AND a good doggie dining menu! This is especially great when the weather is cold (or too warm!) There were no complaints from my pup as she downed her 'Lucky' meal. Our waiter, John, mentioned that all of the doggie dining menu options were actually named after the owners current dogs! Cute touch! Service was warm and attentive (thanks John!) and they were incredibly accommodating on our food substitutions since I don't eat meat. I was also excited to see that they had a good sized menu with a variety of options-- sandwiches, burgers, salads, appetizers, hot dogs, and desserts. I wouldn't say it's a full 'dinner' restaurant, but great tasting, fresh, AND flavorful meatless options which are great for vegans/vegetarians. They had dedicated parking, patio area, an upstairs (I'm sure is amazing in the summer!) and clean restrooms. I even noticed signage in the women's restroom that encouraged safety for 'Angel shots' in case anyone felt unsafe and needed to communicate safely with the bartender for a ride home or the police! They also have live events, music, and great drink specials. It's right on Indiana State University campus so it could be missed, but don't overlook this gem! -- 5/5 from this Pup Mom

The drive between Chicago and Danville can be a long one...and there is no direct route. You find…read moreyourself driving through VERY flat farmland and VERY small towns like St. Anne, Watseka, Hoopston, et al. But if you want to take a break, grab a beer and get some good homemade bar grill food, turn off the main drag (in this case, Highway 1) and go a block or two into the business district of Milford, where there is an awesome little bar with an upfront grill (the cleanest I've ever seen) dishing up homemade soup, awesome burgers and pub food, great deep fry, and some kind of daily special -- including a home made desert (we had awesome pumpkin bars but they usually have pie). On weekends they have crazy cheap steak, fish fry, and prime rib specials. You have to put up with the country music channel on the tv...(but on the flip side they have free wifi, so don't bitch). All in all it's clean, cheap, good, and friendly -- so why waste your change on fast food when you can get food fast, homemade good, and with a water back? It's the most pit-stop worthy place on a long empty haul where the only other attraction is an old corn silo with a tree growing inside it -- we call it the "Hannibal Lecter tree" and a big funny billboard for the "Hoopston corn jerkers." If you grew up a corn jerker, you NEED a friendly place like the Hangout. And it was even open on Easter! Hallelujah, brother, pass the fried pickles and corn nuggets!

Dont really know why this is listed under "Dive bars" because it is pretty classy. And there are 3…read moret.v.'s in there which are usually on 3 different sports channels. Yes all the food is homemade and every friday there is a fresh dessert made. This is a great place to eat and even bring the kids.

Save us from the Country Music Channel, but I bet they would have changed it if we asked.

The portable sign lists the specials...but the bud sign is all you will see from the road.

You've been driving for hours and THIS is the highlight. Why not stop off at the Hangout?
