The first one was to be given to Lauderbach Construction to start the job and the second to be given upon completion. Here's the deal... not only did he do fantastic work, was knowledgeable and answered all my questions, but on the final day he called and told me he was going to have my property manager tear up the 2nd check! Why? Because he didn't have to do as extensive work as he originally thought, because it took a little longer than he originally thought and because he knew the trouble I'd had with the home even before I contacted him. What contractor does this?? This was not a small check! Honesty and integrity go a long way in my book. Add that with reputation, experience and knowledge and you have a winning combination. We waited 7 weeks for John to give us a bid on a major remodel. When we were ready to start the project, he said he could not provide a bid, however had a cost - plus contract for us to sign. We declined. Furthermore our stairs that he put in as a side job were not up to code & need to be replaced. Then the harassment started for payment, without even having given us an invoice. It resulted in his screaming at my husband that he was going to call the sheriff on us for non-payment. I told him we had every intention of paying however by law required an invoice for payment. He got angry & hung up. He finally dropped off an invoice as I told him the stairs were not up code. We made payment in full, however I made a formal complaint to the Registrar of Contractors for work that was not up to code and harassment. So beware.

It got worse, and Nick came out and fixed the leak. It seems that a few nails had hit the water pipe, an installation error on EAA's part. Nick fixed the problem within one day, including the damage outside the bathroom caused by the water. The problem is that Nick refuses to finish up the job. He used black screws on the fascia(?), reversed the hot and cold on the shower valve, and did not re-caulk two vertical seams. The fascia also needs to be repainted so the black screws don't show. I have been bugging Nick for about 3 months; he texts me that he will come in a few days, and then nothing. He eventually told me I was on the schedule for 9 months out. At this point, I do not believe anything that Nick says.

They had a novice young man that had been working for five months come and inspect our fireplace and he said it was illegal and red tagged it ,this is really disappointing, considering the more experienced man that we asked to inspect it all and give us a safety inspection passed. and the young novice spent hours standing there, measuring and red tagged it saying it was not upto code. we will not be using or referring this company.
