3 years ago we hired wizards to inspect our new property and make sure it was up to code, and everything was safe and to clean the chimney ,there was an older man who was an expert who had done it for years, and he went over everything, inspected everything in both houses meticulously and cleaned it and gave us 100 percent safety check and said it was all perfect. today on February 18, 2025 we had them come just to do a chimney cleaning. They had a novice young man that had been working for five months come and inspect our fireplace and he said it was illegal and red tagged it ,this is really disappointing, considering the more experienced man that we asked to inspect it all and give us a safety inspection passed. and the young novice spent hours standing there, measuring and red tagged it saying it was not upto code. we will not be using or referring this company. read more

Unreasonably Expensive!! These folks wanted over $2,000+ to install a wood burning stove pipe stack. They also wanted to charge $300 just to come out and see if they can install it with that being non-refundable. Greed at its best!! You can't justify that and call it business. Thats like saying, well I had to break into my neighbor's house and took their safe because I had to feed my family. BS read more

We hired Wizard's for two things recently: 1. Install a pre-bought fireplace blower system. 2. Clean all of our ventilation ducting. They did a fantastic job on both and I would definitely hire them again. read more

I called Wizards to have two fireplaces cleaned and swept. They quoted me $85 for each fireplace and came out to do the job. Upon arrival, they said both my units needed repair and did not clean either of them. They charged me a $170 service fee ($85 each) but did not clean or do anything to the units. I reluctantly paid it. They said the office would contact me the next day with a quote to get the units repaired. I never heard from them, so a few days later I called. I spoke with someone who said they were still trying to get a price for me and that they would call me back in exactly two days. They also said they would not take the $170 I already paid (for nothing) off the price of the pending repair. In the end, it didn't, matter as I never heard from them again and did not bother to call back. I then called another Chimney Sweep in the area and he cleaned and did repairs on the spot. I would not recommend this company to clean or repair your fireplace as it seems like they just took my money and ran. read more

Along with being able to schedule me within a week for a chimney cleaning, Jim and team showed up a few minutes before expected and mentioned straight away he saw what the problem could be with my stone fireplace and that I might not even need a cleaning. He thoroughly explained to me exactly what he would be doing and what I can expect with the pricing with both scenarios (if they do the inspection [which is required understandably] and it's just the cap that needed to be lifted vs, if it needed a proper cleaning). Moments later he came back in and let me know the chimney is in great shape, needed the cap lifted, helped me start a fire to make sure I was comfortable with the fix and was on his way within 30 minutes. GREAT experience and will happily use them again. read more

Left a message & received a call within 24 hours - which I thought was great being that I called on a Friday afternoon. They were very courteous & helpful on the phone as we scheduled the chimney sweep service. I received a reminder phone call the day before & again, very courteous. Truby arrived on time & was extremely respectful of our property & very professional. He went above & beyond & showed us a few things about our system & outdoor trap. FYI People: $110 JUST TO WALK THROUGH THE DOOR. The technician found that my pilot light was left in the "pilot" position and turned it to the "on" position and that was it. $110 for less than 5 min work. read more

This company is one of the worst customer service companies I have ever had the displeasure of "working" with. The first appointment that we scheduled they called to confirm two days prior, and then called the day OF and told us they had another emergency in the area and that they would call us back to reschedule. Once we rescheduled they never showed up. We live in the valley and had to drive up three hours and change our work schedules to accommodate this appointment. We called to ask them why they never showed up and to let them know we were sitting at our house waiting. The woman that answered the phone informed us that she was new and had no idea what to do. We were told they would call us back in a couple of days to reschedule when the regular front desk person was there. We never heard from anyone. I would highly recommend never doing business with this company. They clearly don't need the money nor do they care about their customers. read more

Another person wishing I could give them zero stars. I called because my new house has a wood stove and I knew it had issues. Cracked glass, no screen on the cap, etc. Called them out. They came out, said "yep, you have some problems" and left. No solutions offered, nothing done. Charged me $110 for the inspection. I called in and asked for it to be FIXED, not told it was a problem. They finally gave me an estimate. I approved it and they did not show up. I called almost a dozen times. Every time was told "I have to look at your file and call you back. The tech is not in right now. We'll call you back." and then nothing. Even when I mentioned that I had been told before that i would be called back and was not, they said "sorry about that. Don't worry. 'I' will make sure we call you back this afternoon. Leave your number.". Then nothing. So bottom line is I had a problem, they came out and agreed with me that I had a cracked glass and needed a few things, then never DID anything, but they kept my $110 for telling me what i already knew - that it had some problems. Even the owner in Flagstaff PROMISED me she would get someone to call me back and get it DONE, and then I never heard back again. Will NOT use this company again! Scammers in my opinion who take your money for doing no work and then keep promising but never doing anything! Now on to the ROC site to see if I can file a complaint against them too. read more

I called this company as a referral I got from an acquaintance. My pellet stove was very loud when running, so I wanted to have a pro come out and give me his opinion on what it needs to be fixed. The tech, Jim, was very nice, courteous, and professional. It was actually a pleasure to work with him. He cleaned my stove and took apart the problem piece, put it back together, and reinstalled it. It didn't work. Jim told me that it needed a new convection blower. Apparently, the company doesn't contract with the maker of my stove, so Jim looked up the part I needed, sent it to me as a link, and I ordered the part. When I got the part about a week later, it turned out it was the wrong part (it wasn't even for my brand of stove). The next day I mailed the part back to the company I got it from and paid about $20 for shipping costs. I called Wizard's and told them about ordering the wrong part, again per the tech's referral, and told them that my paying $20 for a part that their tech said I needed left a bad taste in my mouth. I asked them to somehow make it right. I received a call from the manager, saying that the owner said that it is my responsibility to make sure I order the right part, so they were unwilling to do anything for me to make the situation right. They only offered to install the part when it came in (for a $115 service charge) but they would not even meet me halfway with the shipping costs of returning the wrong part. I asked the manager if the owner was really willing to lose a customer over $10, and she just said I'm sorry there is nothing I can do. I told her that it had nothing to do with the money, but rather a matter of principle. That the company would not even pay for half the shipping costs ($10) to return a part I was told I needed to order, is just bad business. Apparently the owner really needs the money and is unwilling to keep good customers like myself. How sad for him. Perhaps I should have read other reviews before deciding to hire this company. read more

We have used this company for the past 10 years. They have always been courteous, on time, and left the house in good shape. This year we had a chimney with a woodstove insert and had our ducts cleaned. These guys could not have been more thorough. They gave advice on air filters because our allergies are so bad. Then they actually removed the insert which has probably never been moved since it was installed over 20 years ago. They cleaned out debris and charcoal that was causing particulates to be pushed through the fan into the room. They also pointed out that this debris was a fire hazard and suggested a better placement where we should store our fire extinguisher.
