I am, historically, a very indecisive person. I came in after appointments at other salons and was feeling confused about what I really wanted. Garnish's systematic process helped me figure out what I actually envisioned. What to expect: when you arrive, you wait outside and are asked to wash your hands before entering. This made me nervous that the salon would be very uptight/snooty. However, this was not the case. Mia greeted us warmly and I noticed that all the dresses were in such pristine condition-- maybe bc of the hand-washing. You start by exploring all the options, organized logically by style/sleeve/amount of detail, etc. and choosing 10-15 to try on. Then, based on what you like/don't like, Mia will choose other options. Mia would often direct me as to which dress I should try on next -- for example, I tried on a fitted dress, so she'd advise me to try on a ballgown next to compare. This made a huge difference in discerning what style I actually liked and helped the process feel less overwhelming. She even would give direction on how to stand or which mirror to look at to get the full effect of the dress - I loved this attention to detail. In terms of the collection... With prom getting so close, I had no choice but to purchase another suit elsewhere and pay a separate tailor to ensure my son was ready in time. To make matters worse, I was finally notified that the suit had arrived just three weeks before prom, and even then, the shop still didn't have the materials or appliqués needed to complete the customizations. We were helped by Allie who was so patient with us from beginning to end. They have a cute dressing room for the bride to try on dresses. Allie helped my friend try on 5-6 dresses that we initially picked out, and she then brought 2-3 more to try based on the feedback we were providing throughout the fitting. After my friend picked her dress, we also asked about veils to which Allie picked a few out. She even went as far as bringing one from the back that had just been brought in. That newer veil ended up being the one my friend went home with. We were given complimentary champagne to toast to finding my friend's dress & veil. When I went to my fitting they wouldn't listen to me and tried to convince me I "looked like an 8" so it must be fitting, that maybe I didn't know where my natural waist was and that I wore clothes too tight so wasn't sure what I was talking about.
