The way this business is ran is top tier! 1st: When you walk in you feel welcomed and the space is pretty, there is space for you and your guests and Kim took the time to get to know me and ask me questions before we even began. 2nd: Kimberly knows her stuff! She took her time to think and pull dresses I didn't even ask to see, as well as variations of ones I liked. The pillow she puts into the dress so you can see what you will look like (genius). I went to 5 stores before this one and noone did that! 3rd: She didn't stop at the dress, she put on belts, veils, whatever you wanted or was thinking she worked with it. I felt like I was on princess diaries as she transformed my look and made me feel like we will get there. 4th: I think we tried over 15 dresses on and then tried on my top 2 favorites again. She never bat an eye about that and was encouraging. I SAID YES TO THE DRESS! 5th: The bag they give you when you purchase your dress, cherry on top! Truly so special. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. My niece shopped here and left upset, disappointed and even cried. When she arrived, she was "helped" by Dee. She said that she had an attitude from the jump, acting as though my niece was wasting her time. She had her pick out 3 dresses to try, before asking budget. After she picked the dresses, she asked her the budget she was looking at ($500-$600). Proceeded to have her try on a dress that she did not like (my niece is a sweet girl that does not want to hurt anyone's feelings, so she tried it on). When she came out the dressing room - Dee continued to be rude and unprofessional. My niece asked to try on one of the dresses she pulled, and Dee said those were out of her price range. My other niece said go ahead and try it on, Mom will help you with the extra $100 needed for the dress. Dee would not let her try it on, so the girls left. I am unsure if she felt like she could not pay and that was why she was rude? Either way that is unacceptable. After looking at the reviews it seems as though Dee is a common factor in the 1-star reviews and is unprofessional and rude to a lot of customers. I do not like leaving bad reviews, but the fact that my niece cried is unacceptable. Luckily, she found a prom dress and had a GREAT experience at another shop. read more

Went here to find a wedding dress for my friend, and it could not have been more disappointing. We felt very rushed (even though we were the only ones in there) and the consultant was not very helpful. She told my friend that she'd tried on too many dresses (3 here and 8 at another place) and that she needed to know if theres anything she actually likes in a dress. We were very clear to the consultant what style she was looking for, so we weren't sure why that comment was necessary. Needless to say we cut the appointment short, and my friend felt very discouraged and disrespected. read more

Dee was a wonderful Bridal dress consultant!! She was very professional, friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and fun! Lily's has a great collection of plus size gowns. I was blown away by the amount of fabulous and affordable dresses Lily's has, making it extremely difficult to pick just one. The location is nice, clean, and organized. I loved that they have the spotlight with dim lighting, which really gives you an idea how your dress will look at the reception. They have a no photos policy of the dresses except for the dress you actually purchase. Although I understand why they do this, it did present a challenge for us because the bride's mother wasn't able to attend and the bride really would've liked her mother's input before selecting the dress. Overall, we had a great experience and I would definitely recommend this boutique for anyone looking for a wedding dress. read more

I went to the shop in October, found them on Instagram and I felt like that if I would have better luck with a plus size bridal shop (which is what was advertised to me) verses the conventional Bridal shop experience. Arriving was nice but they had a very small selection of bridal gowns. The consultant that was working with me kept bringing me dresses that did not fit with the aesthetic that I was looking for, I wanted more fitted and she kept bringing me flowy. The owner stepped in and helped me find the perfect dress for my wedding. I was then told by my consultant that the manufacturer dated didn't need me to put a rush on the dress. ( I ordered the dress at 5 months out rather then the 6.) I said ok. After signing the contract the consultant provided me with a verbal delivery date at the end of January. January comes and I still have not heard anything. I get to the last week of January and I have to call. I was then told over the phone that my dress was next in the que and that it should be here in the next week and everything was fine. I call back the next week, because I still had not heard from anyone. I then am told that my dress date had moved to the end of February rather than the end of January. I freaked out but since I was at work I remained professional. I asked if they could look into for me and they said they would. I got a call back several days later to follow up and then I was told early February. I called back yesterday to inquire about my dress to inquire about my dresses arrival. The consultant (same one who worked with me) said that the dress had arrived but that it wouldn't be ready until Tuesday because they were just simply too busy on the weekend to do anything. I was upset and asked for any recourse to the process because there was no communication on my gown unless I initiated it and I felt like the process hadn't been handled very well. The consultant then told me she had the contract right in front of her and that there was no way that was going to happen and that she "did me a favor by not having the dress rushed." I halted the conversation and stated I will be in to pick it up and if any other discussion is necessary then we can have it when I pick up the dress. The consultants response was extremely inappropriate, especially for an anxious customer who is looking to have a perfect wedding day. The communication through the process was extremely lacking and when I got a hold of my copy of the contract they said they could not be held responsible for delays in the process and that dates given are only estimates. Ok, there is no date stated in the contract as an estimate (which is a hole, believe it or not.). I feel like with a dress that is so important to a bride constant communication with changes in the process are extremely necessary. A simple phone call telling me that the date had been pushed back from the supplier would have helped me tremendously. I have to schedule alterations and I am now working with a shorter window and rescheduling those appointments due to lack of communication. At the end of the day, she didn't do me any favors with the process and she should have just rushed it. I just took my daughter to Lily's Bridal for a dress for her senior prom and they did not disappoint. They had a great selection of dresses and our assistant Octavia was lovely and helpful from the moment we walked in. The prices are higher than a David's Bridal but that is because they're not mass produced dresses, so the chances of your daughter having the same dress as someone else is very small. I hate to write a negative review - and it's definitely clear that the gals at Lily's Bridal are nice ladies. But I have to say: this is one case where Yelp really steered me in the wrong direction. I came in with very specific paramaters on the dress, including silhouettes I did NOT want. I also wanted my companion to help me with getting dressed -- instead, the consultant forced the companion to sit on the couch and was very insistent, forcing me through the putting on the dress and waiting for her to get the corset completely done up even when I could tell at first "feel" that it was not a silhouette I would want. All in all, this process cost me TWO HOURS when I'm normally a 30 mins, "know what I want" kinda gal. I left feeling pretty lousy about my body and about finding a wedding dress. Constructive feedback: know your brides -- if you get a vibe that I don't want to sit and chitchat or that I have a specific idea of what I'd like, please: don't make me have a long involved conversation with you, tell me directly if you have the silhouettes I want (apparently they nearly exclusively deal in the Mermaid/Fit & Flare phenomenon that looks good on 1% of brides), and let me and my companion design our own experience. 1st let me be completely honest about myself, and then I will continue on to my review. I am a very indecisive person! I have tried on over 70 dresses , because I have not found the one yet... while that might be excessive and a little extreme.. I will be 42 when I get married and this will be my first marriage...... This will be the most important dress that I will ever wear it is the last dress that I will wear as a single woman and the First dress that I will wear as a married woman. I made an appointment at Lily's Bridal after finding them through a Google search. We were greeted by Dee. She took us in the back and ask me a few questions about my theme and what I was looking for in a dress, while we were walking into the plus-size Bridal section... I noticed a few dresses on mannequins that I wanted to try on. The First dress that I tried on I fell in love with it... Out of all the dresses that I tried on I never fell in love with any of them and to my surprise I fell in love with the shape of the dress, I did not particularly like the color...and I expressed that to Dee. Dee then said" I do have a dress that's not your size so it's not going to zipping up on you but you can still put it on to see how it looks because it's the color you want" I tried the dress on and it was stunning, but I think it was only stunning because of the color.... The First dress that I put on was the one. Now here's where thing get a bit sour for me. Dress 1 was 2500...dress 2 1900..The dresses were not heavy@ all...and most other dresses were EXTREMELY heavy...esp ones w lots of layers. I looked inside the dresses to see the designer..and to my surprise no tags listing the designers. I found that strange, because everywhere else had the designers listed... even if it was an exclusive dress made specifically for a store it was still had the store name on the tag. Dee started telling me how the dress can be paid for... You can even pay it in full or, you can pay it in 1/3, or you can pay half now and half the next month... However if your dress is not pay in full it would not be ordered. She then informed me that since my wedding is in 12 months that I need to hurry up and make up my mind because the dress usually take between 7 and 9 months to come in!! At that point I felt pressured. I told her I wanted to share pictures of myself in the dresses with my mom and my out-of-town sister.... about 10 minutes later she asked me did I send the pictures to my mother... I told her that I did share the pictures but I haven't gotten a response yet because my mother probably was at work. I asked her what time do they close she said she would be there to 6. I told her I will be in touch after my mom and my sister gave me their opinion. Dee called Tuesday and ask did I want to come back and and bring my mother to try on the dress... I told her while I love the dress in my opinion the dress was a bit expensive especially since I will be paying over 600 dollars a month until the dress is paid off in 3 months. Dee then became a little unprofessional, saying well you been to ALOT of other places& you don't have to pay for your alterations until next year ( I mentioned the price of alterations & the price of the dress to her) so you can save up to do that. I didn't like that "car saleman" tactic. I do not like that they do not label their dresses with the designer. I've been to a few other places prior to coming to them& tried on dresses similar...they were half the price ... I have decided to get everything I want in a dress...my best bet is to get it made. I am getting it made by anomalie...and still it was waaayyy under 2500( which will end up being around $3,000 with the alteration) read more

I went to a Bridal Show in Chesapeake Beach in February 2013 and met Kim, the owner of Lily's Bridal. After walking around a bit at the Show, I stopped back to talk to Kim about her shop. I made an appointment for a few weeks later when a friend could make the trip from DC to Baltimore with me. I worked with Jessica as my consultant, who was INCREDIBLE! From the moment I walked through the door til the time I left, I felt like I was the only person in the shop as I had her full attention. I am a 14-16 in street clothing, so an 18-20 in bridal wear. I had gone to another shop and had the displeasure of being forced only to look at dresses that didn't even come close to fitting. I had no real idea of what would look good on me as a result. I knew some things I wanted in a dress and some I didn't. I described what I wanted and liked and we went back to pull a few things from the racks. The second dress I tried on, which Jessica picked out for me, was the one I ended up buying. One of my biggest concerns was that I wanted a dress that was a bit modest (i.e. sleeves or wide straps). Jessica recommended adding a piece that was actually designed for another gown and having it attached making the dress both exactly what I wanted, and incredibly unique for me. My favorite thing though was the very thoughtful handwritten thank you note from Jessica. I definitely had a great experience. So why the two-stars? First, I had a small billing error. I was undercharged on deposit (by less than $10), but they called right away and worked with me to correct it. I loved that I was allowed to put the dress on layaway and pay on each week so that it is one less bill to pay later. I was able to pay it off in a little over 6 weeks and it was going to be ordered as soon as I had finish paying for it. Second, there was an act of god involved. In August 2013, there was a FedEx airplane crash in Alabama. On that plane was about 500 dresses from this particular designer; all of them destroyed in the crash. My dress was on that plane, but given that my wedding is scheduled for November 2014, not a big deal. So the issue? Well, I called in November 2013, when they told me the dress would originally be in, and they told me all about the plane crash and that the new date would be in March 2014. They said that the designer was nice enough to replace the destroyed dress free of charge, but other dresses would be prioritized over mine because my wedding was so far out. I can understand that there are rush orders that came in after my order and other orders with wedding dates sooner than mine. But why did I have to call YOU to find this out. Communicate with me. Also, why in the world would you expect me to have to pay for another dress when the first dress was never in my possession or even close to being in my custody. I am not even looking at holding Lily's responsible since I am sure that the designer had insured the dresses when they sent them via FedEx. Now, I called today mid-April 2014... ALMOST a year after my inital order. New date for the wedding dress is end of June. If I wasn't at work when she told me that I would have completely lost it. I got the same line about rush orders and other weddings, but look good customer service is about communication. You changed the delivery date CALL me. Tell me. You have my email address, a 2 sentence email would have resolved this issue. (The dress finally arrived July 2014 - more than 420 days after the initial order was placed). To add insult to injury, they contacted me in Feb 2015 (wedding was beginning of Nov 2014) to offer me a discount on cleaning and preservation on my gown. I took it in December so now of the dirt from walking around the venue would ruin my dress. I have to order bridesmaid dresses, and I'm sorry, but I can't do this to them. read more

The selection is well maintained but not as much as I had hoped for in my size. The service is amazing and personal. I was even sent a hand written not after my appointment. I had an excellent experience here shopping for a wedding dress; come here first. The vibe is relaxed and elegant; nothing like the warehouse / sloppy dorm room feel you get in some shops with chicks pulling dresses down and bunches of you coming out at the same time to wait for an available mirror. THIS is totally different; much more high end. There are comfy sofas for your friends or mom to camp out on while you're vouge-ing, working the little pedestal, putting what little bass in your walk you can muster from underneath 20 lbs of lace, etc. You're typically the only bride in there when it is time for your appointment, which is really nice. The lighting is awesome! They cover you in sparkly fabulousness, dim the lights, then kick up these little spotlights that could make a glitter-covered potato sack look like a million bucks. (Not that they are peddling glitter-covered potato sacks) The dresses are thoughtfully selected for you and their inventory is gorgeous. No crappy thin satin here - the cuts and styles are high end. Which is not to say they don't have affordable options, but this isn't David's Bridal. Tell them what you want and they will walk through the store with you to determine exactly what you have in mind, while suggesting some styles you might not have considered. I was in love with A-line dresses when I went and wasn't entertaining the idea of a mermaid, but she pulled one off the rack and set it aside for me. It was the dress I ended up buying. These ladies know what your figure will look best in, so keep an open mind and try some styles you wouldn't have picked for yourself. She never once made me feel like a diva and I must have tried on 20 dresses... some of them several times. (I didn't know at the time that this was a lot.) She helped me compare my final selections and start to whittle them down until I settled on the dress that was right for me. My only gripes: They don't allow you to take pictures of the dresses until you have already committed to buying it. They also pick the tags out of the dress and rename the style so you can't tell who the designer is. I understand they don't want to waste time helping a bride only for her to go and buy it from somewhere else, but it just felt... tacky. They also strong-arm you with a high pressure "good for today only" discount. Chill out with the high-pressure sale. I spent a hefty sum of money and later found out that the style was over a year old and the designer was phasing it out. I definitely would have negotiated the price further if I had that info, but I guess that is the point. Again, I understand why they are doing it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. It's the cost of doing business; the people who want to waste your time with fittings and buy someplace else are going to do it whether you're picking out the labels or not... but I digress. That aside, Lily's was great and I highly recommend the shop. The staff was lovely, their dresses are gorgeous, the ambiance is nice, the overall experience is fantastic and exactly as it should be - they make it a really special experience for you. I was in Lily's a few weeks ago to look for a bridal gown. I had been to two other boutiques earlier in the day, so walked in excited to see what else might be out there. I left extremely disappointed, both in the selection and the overall experience. Dee continued to ask me about the dresses I saw in the other boutiques and how they compared to the gowns at Lily's. Every dress I tried on her first question was "What do you NOT like about this one?" I found her to be very unprofessional and extremely negative. This was the worst experience ever. I took my daughter here to buy a prom dress. First of all , the selection was not very good. If you see a dress in another size that you like, they can not order it in your size. My size 2 daughter was made to feel fat because she did not fit in the size zero of the dress she liked. She ended up in tears! They were rude from the get go. You are not allowed to take pictures of the dress on, and they do not do alterations on site, you have to go elsewhere and hope for the best. We went to Mary's Bridal in Annapolis, and had the most wonderful experience. The staff was amazing, and they are customizing a dress just for my daughter. Steer clear from Lily's!!!! read more

The first time I went into this store I had a wonderful experience when Carleen was helping me. I was able to purchase my prom dress then and there. I decided to come back to bring one of my friends. On our way there I was telling her how nice the place is and how great the customer service was. When we got there that was not the case. When my friend and I walked in the older woman working was the only one there and she looked so annoyed at the fact that we had walked in at opening. She literally looked like she had just woken up. The way she treated my friend was very poorly. Just because you didn't get enough sleep doesn't mean you have to take it out on what were potential paying customers. Disappointing. read more

I went to Lilly's bridal to purchase my wedding gown during their great annual sale! It was the first place I went to try on dresses. I purchased a very pretty gown. The only negative I would say is that I don't remember the name of the women who helped me. I did feel a little "sold" if that makes sense. There wasn't anything really special about the whole experience but she was very patient and helped me with each gown. She did take the time and ask what I was looking for. I feel I got a great deal considering price. I will say I'm sure it was a crazy day for all the ladies working that day so I'm sure they were tired. I would recommend Lilly's bridal. I would rate the shop itself a 4, the reason for the three is because of one little mishap. Upon arriving everyone is incredibly nice and welcoming. I noticed my name included in a framed paper of all the bridal appointments on the front desk. As I was escorted to the back I also noticed my name had been written on the mirror in the area we were using. My mother and I were offered refreshment and then started to look at the dresses. I had an idea of what I was looking for and the consultant did a wonderful job at picking things out for me. The entire process as great and I never once felt any pressure or stress. HOWEVER, when it became apparent that I would not be making a purchase right then and there the consultant became almost aggravated with me. One, a $2000 wedding gown is a big expense to me and I knew that there would need to be additional alterations, there were sleeves that would need to be removed. Two, I wanted me fiancés mother to see the dress before any purchases were made. I was also unsure of how it would look after the sleeves were taken off and there was this weird fabric on the back that had to go. The consultant then became distraught with me basically telling me that they sell from inventory and the dress may not be there 5 days later to show anyone. I was then told that I would have to pay in full in order for the dress to be ordered. I was offered to split the payments but was told that the dress would not be ordered until it was completely paid for. My concern with this is that if something were to be wrong with the dress, I would have no leverage. I left feeling kind of mad and discouraged and actually, after a discussion with my mother, decided to cancel my follow up appointment and search for a dress elsewhere. As mentioned before the shop itself was great and the dresses are definitely unique. Just be prepared to stand your ground if your not ready to make a purchase. read more

After having a wonderful experience finding the dress the owner refused to fix a fault that was on the dress before purchase.The dress never left the shop and the owner told her that they wouldn't fix it and she was to heavy for the dress anyways. About a month ago, I visited this store. I found out about this store through Instagram. I had viewed pictures on Instagram and got an idea of what I wanted. When I arrived to the store, I got greeted buy many young ladies. I got asked what I was there. I was there for a prom dress. A very young nice lady helped me find the perfect dress. The dress was costing me around $600. I find this very pricey because there was some sequins missing. Some yarns pulled out. And the dress straps were pretty big. The straps couldn't even be adjusted. They told me once I paid the dress, I could get it altered somewhere else. That they could only sew the sequins. My parents were pretty upset but this was the dress I wanted. I agreed to pay a certain amount, minimum of $100 for every two weeks. So Saturday, April 21st was my final payment and the day I was going to pick up my dress too. My family & I were very excited to pick up the dress. Before putting my last final payment, I asked to view the dress. Are you kidding me? My dress wasn't even fixed. The sequins were still missing. Every single spot I said to fix, wasn't even fixed!!!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS. I drove 1 whole hour to pick the dress up. I expected it to be done.. As we had agreed, Saturday was the final payment and pick up date. Lily's Bridal failed to follow the agreement so I asked for a refund because I was not going to wait or come back for the dress another day. They wanted me to come back Tuesday so they can fix it. Seriously? Sorry but i even called off work that day to come in! The lady said that my dress was placed in another rack instead of the layaway dresses to be fixed. That unfortunately, the owner was out that day on a personal emergency and could not fix it. First of all, you had almost an entire month to fix my dress. Secondly, next time a girl does a layaway dress and needs something fixed.. please make sure to have it fixed on time. I don't care about any excuses. I was willing to pay so much for A DRESS and even would have to get it hemmed and fixed on the straps for it ti fit properly. But never mind. Lily's Bridal was not responsible and I will never come back. I do not recommend this place because they have young teenage girls helping you out. They don't even know about dresses? I also think, as a dress store you should be able to have alterations, any fixings, any hem to you, or be able to order you a dress specifically to your size. Went to this place for prom dresses....what a disappointment. We were in there for all of 5 minutes. The dresses were horrible and totally overpriced. All of them were big and bulky. Nothing classy to offer at all. The employees were nice but the dresses were tacky...ALL OF THEM. We couldn't fine ONE dress to even try on. My daughter hated them all. Clearly this was not the place I hoped for. Not to mention they did not offer special ordering so if it wasn't on the rack too bad. I still can't believe I went out of my way to go there. Very little dress selection. The girl that helped me has a very boring personality. Don't get me wrong she is nice, but her energy or vibe got me really uninterested. The dresses are also expensive and the lowest is around $300. read more

Sherrie at Lily's Bridal is what everyone hopes for when looking for a wedding dress. She was so patient and helpful with the entire process and most importantly, she never pressured me into anything! If it were not for Sherrie, my dress shopping experience would have been awful. This shop doesn't have very many dresses for women of larger sizes. I expected more from what they said on the phone. I really wasn't feeling any of the dresses I tried on but the consultant ( who was really really loud and intense) was trying to convince me I was in love with one of them. I knew it looked like crap on me. Nothing was going to change my mind. I didn't want to be rude, so I tried to end it on "I'll think about it and get back to you" but she didn't want to hear that and started questioning me as to why I couldn't purchase it then and there. I felt really pushed and it was awkward. I was just too nice to say hell no to the dress. If you're a smaller bride, you may have better luck. read more

I had a WONDERFUL experience here. I wasn't sure what would look good on me and Kim picked out some incredible dresses for me. She really has an eye for this. She was able to match my body type with the best styles. I didn't feel rushed at all. When I went to another shop in Baltimore, the woman stood there and counted down my remaining time. I went to several bridal shops before Lily's. And while I cant say anything bad about the service at the previous shops, I can say that not much in their selections wowed me. As soon as I got to Lily's, they were friendly, listened to my criteria and we found "THE" dress immediately. It was the first I tried on at Lily's, and I LOVED it!!! Of course I tried on several more gorgeous dresses but the first one is exactly what I was looking for! AND it was on clearance! So I purchased and took it home same day for 50% off!!! This by far is the worst shop ever to get a dress. This place made the experience of buying a dress the worst for me and my fiance. They are stricly about profit and not about the consumer. DO NOT go to this shop unless you have cash to buy your dress right out at the time of your visit. They dont allow you as the consumer to know the name of the designer that you are purchasing the dress from and they dont allow you to make payments that are affordable for the average consumer. On top of having the bad experiences with the shop one rep in particular was very sweet, her name is Lisa. I cant say the same for the co worker of Lisa, DEE who is very rude and unsympathetic. I took my goddaughter to Lily's as I promised her I would if she turned out a good grade on a school assignment she was given to accomplish. My niece is a plus size young lady and is very sensitive about her body image so I was a bit apprehensive about what was going to happen on this Prom shopping trip I offered to take her on. Well, I just want to say that after visiting Mary's and Crystal's she didn't find anything that suited her ideas about a prom dress. The ladies there were very nice but not able to fulfill my niece's idea. We were told to try Lily's so we took the car ride to see what they had to offer. My niece and I entered and were greeted immediately even though the store was very full with customers. We were invited to look around and that an assistant would be assigned to us very shortly. We found a few styles that my niece wanted to actually try on. The assistant helped her in/out of each dress and we were actually getting somewhere. I truly believe that because the store had a lot of momentum that that put everyone in a happy mood. Everywhere you looked there were rhinestones and color. We were there for about an hour before my niece found what she felt comfortable in and pretty. Thank you Lily's for making us feel comfortable and taking the anxiety out of shopping for a plus size young teen. read more
