Dr. Sanfillipo is brilliant, very knowledgeable and to top it all he is just truly a kind and a caring person ! I honestly believe he is an angel! He saved 2 of my babies- and I'm not exaggerating! I had 2 regular uneventful pregnancies and 2 very high risk, difficult ones. I would not be where I am without the support and expertise of Dr. Sanfillipo. I don't care how long I have to wait, and btw it's not that long. I traveled out of state to see him because he is phenomenal! His staff is great! The ultrasound tech. Debra - incredible, she really knows her stuff, and has years and years of experience! He was my neighbors Dr. for 20+ years who only had good things to say. When my father's muscle was detached from his arm, Dr. D not only took care of the pain. But scheduled an operation imediatley by calling the hospital and making you an appointment. My father's was in pain no more. When I had a Boil huge as Golf ball before having to travel to Florida. Same treatment. So yes he prescribed Pain Killers. But it was NOT like going to a candy store. We are talking about light weight surgery's. He has helped me though some very hard times in my life and I am very thankful for that. Although.... His office staff is not much to be desired. The front staff is extremely rude, and incompetent, making it one of worst physician offices I have ever been too. I went in for a well care visit and was told if I don't pay a co pay up-front I would not be seen. However, I do not have a copay for well care. When I told the lady at the desk that I do not have a co pay she fought with me and said "well I guess you wont be seen then." and shut the glass window in my face. Her sister who it also the office manager and billing person then came out and took my card and called my insurance company. Long story short I DID NOT HAVE A CO PAY!! Now three months later I am receiving bills in the mail telling me I owe almost $200.00. When I called and spoke to the staff member she said that I was not seen for a well care visit. AS IF I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS BEING SEEN FOR!!!! She informed me that I didn't have certain tests done (which I had) then gave me the number to a billing office. When I asked if I could have the ICD9 code it was billed under she told me she cant give that information out. I work in a doctors office and I know that I am entitled to the ICD9 code MY bill was billed under. I unfortunately will be finding a different doctor because of the staff. The other girls in the office are very helpful, the medical assistant are a joy to be around, but the front desk staff need to be let go. With all the people out of work these days i'm sure they can find better staff who have half a brain and people skills! *** i wrote this in 2015 and stil I get the bill monthly for a test they never ran on my. Next step is legal action for harassment. Since every month i call and they play stupid and give some poor apology but the next month there it is waiting for me. Its such a joke

I wanted to share our recent experience with Dr. Altongy......Our son was experiencing pain in his shoulder, turned out to be AC joint separation due to lifting weights after seeing another doctor after Dr. Altongy turned us away. We recently changed our health insurance and were waiting on our new insurance cards and a policy number. Even though we had insurance coverage for three weeks, since I didn't have a card I even offered to self-pay for the visit. Dr. Altongy denied my injured son the visit. He would not accept my payment and he sent us away. PS: My son has previously been seen and treated by Dr. Altongy several times in the past 9-10 years. In all of the previous visits, Dr. Altongy was always paid and we had a perfect history with the doctor, until he decided to stop treating us like a long time patient. Shameful. The following day we called the office to request that Dr. Altongy give us a call to discuss this further. He didn't bother to call back.

He takes the time to get to know his patients on a personal level and genuinely listens. He goes beyond basic checkups -- his bloodwork evaluations are the most thorough I've ever experienced, and he looks at the whole picture, not just the minimum. Because of his attention to detail, he discovered things other doctors completely overlooked. He even helped clarify an issue with my mother's medication by running the proper tests that no one else bothered to check. His approach is careful, thoughtful, and truly patient-centered.
