So I called to make an appointment for the Moderna shot for my father and the receptionist told me there was well over 1000+ people waiting. That is such a lie and how do I know. My dads friend popped In There got his shot and told my father right now he just got it. So from 30 seconds on, it went to 1000+. Save your time and hassle and go somewhere else. Let me preface this by saying that I've been visiting this medical center ever since I was a child for annual physical exams in the summer and/or for flu and fevers in the winter. That was until 2020 when covid-19 started. I neglected my health for two years and was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Since then, have been visiting this medical center routinely over recent months. I must say, they've changed a lot. Wait times: While in the past, I would wait nearly an hour after my scheduled appointment to see my physician, Dr. Zhang, now, it is nearly right away or within 15 minutes after my arrival. Physician assistant: I noticed that they hired a physician assistant. While I waited in one of the rooms for Dr. Zhang to finish up with a previous client, the physician's assistant and I went over some of my lab results. She made complex topics easier for me to understand and I felt really comfortable to take my time to ask questions, which is something I previously didn't do because I knew how busy this clinic is. Dr. Zhang: Dr. Zhang has been my physician ever since I can remember. Since I began coming to this clinic more frequently to monitor my hyperthyroidism, I'm able to see how genuine Dr. Zhang is and how much he cares about his patients. read more

Medical assistants at the front desk need to get their act together or have some customer service lessons. They are extremely rude to their customers especially elder people which is very disrespectful. Honestly, if this clinic was not located in such a heavy traffic area, everyone will be going elsewhere. One time, I had a high fever, turned out to be the contagious flu. I asked the medical assistants to please put me into the earliest time they can that day and I am very willing to wait to see the doctor even if I am the last patient of the day since I understand that I did not make an appointment. They dismissed me by saying, "I don't care how sick you are, you have to come back tomorrow." I almost fainted before I got home, thank God I live close by. So this is how you talk to your patients? Unacceptable. I do find it pretty offensive and it is an invasion of privacy when they shout out people's name along with birthdays or personal information. I don't think all patients or anyone in the clinic need to know that. This medical office does not keep appointment times. I can safely say that whenever I need a check up, I write my name with the appointment time, I go home and come back in an hour - there is still a list of people in front of me that have not been called. Accompanied my mother to her appt today, scheduled for 345pm. We arrived 310pm and its not 502pm and we are STILL waiting. She only saw the nurse (who btw i dont even think is a nurse becos she just took her pressure and she has a flu shot and another vaccine she is supposed to be taking today.. but she said she cant administer it.) what nurse cannot administer shots??? If ure not a RN! We asked the front desk how much longer at 440pm and they said "almost." The office is disgusting. Floors are stained w gum spots, vents have black dusts on it.. They do not have good ventilation and u can get sleepy/dizzy jus waiting in here. Its time to look into a new PCP office for my mom after this visit. What Dr.Ho fufu and the "nurse" in this clinic did to my mom was absolutely outrageous and unprofessional! My mom accidentally cut off the tip of her finger yesterday. Being a nurse myself I dressed her wound with surgicel which stopped the bleeding and the surgicel wasn't supposed to be removed because removing it would lead to bleeding again. Today my mom went there to get tetanus shot and to see if the doctor could prescribe her pain medication because she was in so much pain. The "nurse" insisted to peel off my mother's wound dressing that was stuck to the wound which caused it to bleed again. After messing up the dressing causing it to bleed again, the doctor refused to take care of the wound saying her insurance didnt cover such service. All he did was giving a glove for my mom to put on (while blood continued to drip from her fingertip) and sent her off with a prescription for Emergency room. (????) What worse was the "nurse" tied two rubber bands at the end of my mom's injuried finger which cut off circulation of her entire finger !!!!! When she got home from the clinic her entire finger was purplish. She would've lost her whole finger had she left the rubber band on for longer. Any trained medical professional would know tying a tourniquet would cut off circulation and should be used only in severe bleeding which was not the case for my mom's finger.. all it required was to apply direct pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding. Putting a glove on her wound not stop the bleeding! Tying a rubber band on her would cause her to lose her entire finger! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE practice for both the nurse and the doctor! Do not go there ! File a complaint to the state medical board if he mistreated you or your loved one. read more

So I'm trying to see the Doctor Robin everyone is talking about, lol I switched MY PCP to him with my insurance and made sure it was effective before I called to set up an appointment. They have a fancy "Press 3 for English" option, but the girl on the phone was not capable of speaking comprehensive English! I called on Oct 11, 2016 at 1:54pm. My call lasted 3 minutes, 2 of which were just hold time, and my dialogue was as follows: "Hello, I just switched my PCP to Dr. Robin Chan, can I schedule an appointment with you guys cause I've never been to your location before?" Whatever the girl said was beyoooooond comprehensible, dear me! So I asked for clarification, "Sorry, I didn't really understand.." and before I was able to finish, she said "thank byebye" --literally just that. THANK. BYE BYE. Sister went for a yearly body check up and when the result came back, this place told her unless she pay $30 on top of the absurd amount they claim from her insurance company the doctor won't discuss the results with her. And she did others test as well and was told she have to pay $30 for each report of the test she did. And when she ask for a copy of the blood work result they doctor say in a very rude tone " do you even know how to read the result". I've been coming this clinic for 3/4 of my life and their system never changes. Plan at least half of your day if you want to come to this clinic. Like what other Yelped has mentioned if you don't know Cantonese don't bother comic to this clinic. No matter what language you speak still expect to be treated rudely by the staffs here. When I was younger I remember coming here to see Dr.He and it would be a 4 hour wait just to see him for 5 minutes. The only reason why I kept coming back was because they had a really nice nurse and she worked there for a long time so one star for her. After all there is numerous of similar clinics in this community, I have already switch to another clinic and luckily I did. Save 5 times the amount of time. Awful awful experience, I booked my app at 11:30 to do the bacteria test. I arrived on time and was called at 1pm. When I finally in the room, a staff told me to wait another hour because he needs to get lunch. That's insane. The front desk staff hasn't been very particularly rude to me; they're rather brusque, but I think that comes from the clipped way that they speak English (a vestige of their predominantly Cantonese interactions). They automatically assume that you speak Cantonese, which can be a bit disconcerting. I speak Cantonese pretty fluently, but I definitely do not feel comfortable discussing medical issues in Chinese. I went last night and this morning, and my interactions with the nurses were quite different from what I'm used to. Generally, nurses are pleasant, reassuring and comforting; these nurses were Chinese ladies around my mother's age, and the one this morning was just really impatient and irritable. (The one last night was okay, but not particularly warm). It appears that they don't really speak English, so I had to converse with them in Cantonese. Although the doctors definitely speak English, patients inevitably interact with nurses, so don't come here if you only speak English. I used to go to another Brooklyn Chinatown clinic, and I've found an unsettling pattern of the doctors being not as thorough as I would expect. Now that I've done research through the electronic medical records, I realize that physical exams (/yearly check-ups, or in my case, less frequent than that) should be much more comprehensive. All of the Brooklyn Chinatown physicians I've had cursorily check my nose, eyes, ears, neck and lungs, but not really much else. What if I have a tender liver or abnormal gait? What if I have abnormal sleeping patterns and poor diet? These doctors don't really care, and are content to sign on papers very quickly. When I was young, I remember coming to see Dr. Robin Chan. Like by far one of the coolest doctors you'll ever meet. This doctor is very knowledgeable, knows what he's talking about and is willing to help you with your medical problems. Unfortunately waiting to see him can take like 4'+ hours depending on how many patient he has to see. Recently I made an appointment to see a doctor because I had a really bad cough which lasted almost 2 weeks. One of the craziest things was that when I asked one of the clinic assistant who picked up my call was that she couldn't answer a simple question. Since my cough was pretty bad I wanted to see any doctor there within the shortest wait time and I asker her: "which doctor that's in today has the shortest wait time", and she replied: "I don't know" in my mind I was like what the hell, I'm asking her a simple question and she couldn't even answer it, Smh lol. I was you know what, forget it, I'll go to this horrible clinic and get it over with. Eventually I only had to wait like 2-3 hours for the fastest doctor and met up with another cool doctor and his name was Dr. Zhang. So i've been coming here for a few years not because i like waiting 2+ hours for an appointment or the lack of respect they have for everyone but because they have all my information and refuse to release it to me (even though according to HIPAA laws i can request it - but talking to their employees are like talking to a wall). Anyways, today is the last day i will see any of them. I made an 11am appointment for a vaccine and was told that only the 8th Ave office carried the vaccination (usually i see Dr. Li at the 18th Ave. office). I walked in at 10:45 and didn't see the doctor until 3pm. The reason was because the receptionist made my appointment for the 18th Ave office even though the 18th Ave office does not carry any vaccines other than the flu shot -__- I was in the office as a WALK-IN patient and it took 4 hours to see the doctor for about 15 minutes. In addition, i asked the nurse a simple question and the so-called nurse said "i cannot explain it to you because you won't understand." She is so ridiculous! Who says things like that!? She needs to get the stick out of her a$$. I've had enough of these doctors, receptionist, "nurse" and their offices. As previous reviewers had said, they are the worse clinic, with the worse staff and dishonest doctors. I went there to get a medical clearance for school, instead of assisiting me with the form. They told me that my insurance doesn't cover for any titer test and/or missing vaccines which the school asked for. As per the doctor who saw me, I had to pay out-of-pocket for the titers/vaccines. Later on, I contacted my insurance which told me that they covered for vaccines/titers, etc and I shouldn't be charged for it. Additionally, I've been to this clinic when I was a child, where their nurses/doctors almost caused me to be kicked out of school for missing vaccines which their disorganized nurses/doctors never transcribed onto my immunization card and had to be re-vaccinated. This place should be shut down by the gov't for unethical practices. For future patients, DO NOT GO THERE. They will try to ask you to pay out-of-pocket, even with a good health insurance that covers basic testing/immunizations. If I can give them a negative rating, I'd give them -100 read more

If I can give this place zero stars, I would! I've been coming here for years because of my mom. This is a Chinese clinic so a lot of Chinese speaking people feel comfortable coming here. The wait is always super long to see a doctor for any reason including coming here for your test results. The wait can range from 2-3 hours. You definitely would not get to see a doctor at your scheduled time. Yes the wait time is ridiculous which is why I always dread coming to this clinic. Also, I rarely could schedule to see my own PCP. My PCP was Dr. Robin Chan. He is an amazing doctor and is very personable. However, the clinic is horrible because of the poorly managed receptionists managed by the rude manager that sits behind the receptionist. She will have a RBF when you try to talk to her. I'm switched my PCP and also medical center. I am no longer a patient here BUT I am having difficulty getting my medical records transferred over. The Chinese clinic will make it very difficult because they know they are losing you as a patient which means they are losing money. In most cases, you're suppose to sign a release form from your old clinic but they said no to me. They said my new PCP at the new medical office has to request for my medical records and have their release form filled out by them with my signature. It took over an hour to get this done because the new medical office had to fax over the release form. It was ridiculous. Even the new place was in shock that they were giving me such a hard time. After the Chinese clinic has the release form and it was signed by me, the manager with a RBF said that this has to be reviewed by the doctor. I said okay and thank her because I have manners. 10 days later, I called to find out that there was no evidence of release form in my records. I shouldn't be surprised but I was really angry and took my anger out on the receptionist who picked up the phone. Poor girl. I screamed at her but I did apologize to her because I know she wasn't the one tampering with documents. I believe that manager purposely sabotage my release form. She didn't upload it or have any doctor review it. What she did was unprofessional and mean. I will have to go back to my new PCP to ask the office to send over a new release form and hope for the best. This Chinese clinic will try to hold your medical records hostage. If worse comes to worse, I may have to call my insurance company or wherever to make a complaint. I may have to get a lawyer. Who knows. We will see what happens. read more

The people at the front desk are extremely rude. Since mainly old asian grandparents go there the people who work at the front desk gives them no respect. They are rude. I even found one worker yelling at the patient and telling her she is dumb for giving her the wrong benefit card. The wait is crazily long. Recently I went on a Tuesday and I was on of the first ones there when they just opened. It was 8:40. They opened at 9am but for some odd reasons doctors don't show up till 10am. Most arrived at 10:15- 10:30. I wasn't extremely sick. I just had a minor cold but I had to fill out a form for school. I signed in on the walk in list and waited patiently. I waited until 11 am and my name still wasn't called yet. I grew extremely impatient and aggravated. People around me were coughing and sneezing. By 12:30pm I was finally admitted inside the doctors office. The doctor was taking care of other patients in different rooms. I waited another 40 minutes in that room and the doctor finally came. It took literally 10 mins for him to fill out my form and prescribe me with medicine. I waited another hour to get my medicine from their pharmacy. They told me they called my name but they thought I wasn't there. Somehow I was waiting near it the whole entire time. By the end of my visit I was starving, dehydrated and sick. I've been their patient for 12 years already and today, I experienced one of the rudest, disrespectful, impatient, nasty talking, mannerless doctor (if he even deserve to be called a doctor). His name is called He FuFu (even his name is .......). When I saw him for the first time, he was rushing me through due to the fact that he is slow. He wasn't answering my questions either. Today became my worst day ever because he was the only guy available and he was rushing me again. I couldn't agree with you guys more! The attitude of the front desk was disgusting, and they wouldn't respond to patient's questions. I was doing a check up including blood test, urine test, and a test for stomach. And I was required to be empty stomached for 8 hrs before the check up. I asked them how many patients before, both of the receptionists heard me, one glanced at me, but none of them answered my question. I felt dizzy while i was waiting to be called. When i was finally called, i walked into the check up room and found some other patients were there too. So i stood and waited in the room with other patients. My children recently had a check up with Dr. Zhang-the pediatrics professional in the clinic. He was very helpful, patient and kind, especially since my kids don't like shots. I was here to fill out a form for my volunteer place and made an appointment at 6:00. I showed up at 5:30, and I got called at 6:40. A 40 minute wait to fill out a form. The front desk staff need to get their stuff together and not be so rude. I was under 18 and apparently you needed a parent if you are under 18. The front desk staff knew I was under 18 and that I had no parents with me and did not say anything to me. I waited a whole freaking hour just to get yelled at by a nurse there that kicked me out. If waiting A WHOLE HOUR wasn't bad enough, I also had to get yelled at by the nurse. This place needs to learn some manners and go back and learn how to treat their patients.
