I've had three of my four children at Island Coast Pediatrics for the last four years and, until recently, we had stayed with the practice because the doctors themselves were knowledgeable and helpful. However, my youngest son who was born last year had a less than compassionate experience with the nursing staff during his vaccines. The way he was handled felt rushed and lacking in the comfort and care I'd expect for an infant, which led me to transfer only him to a different pediatrician in May. I made it very clear during that transfer through both email and the patient portal that I was only removing my youngest child, and not my three older children. The office even confirmed in writing that my older children would remain patients at Island Coast. Fast forward to this month, I tried to schedule their annual physicals, and I was shocked to be told via text message that none of my children are considered patients anymore. Apparently, when I transferred my youngest son, all of my children were dismissed from the practice without any communication, warning, or written policy stating this would happen. I reviewed every document I've ever signed and combed their website for any mention of this "policy," and found nothing. When I called the office, the staff didn't even know about this rule until a supervisor confirmed it. I eventually spoke with the supervisor directly, and while she acknowledged that there's nothing in writing or online to support this policy and that it should have been communicated to me she still stood by the decision and said there was nothing she could do. She did say she would try to get this policy documented for other parents moving forward, but unfortunately that does nothing to fix how poorly this was handled for our family. We are now forced to find a new pediatrician for all of our children with no notice, and after years of being loyal patients. Even if they had allowed my children to remain, I would not have continued with the practice due to the way I was treated dismissed without explanation and left to navigate the consequences on my own. I'm deeply disappointed in how Island Coast Pediatrics handled this situation, and I hope no other family has to go through the confusion and frustration we did. read more

Honestly, this group seems to only care about making a profit than they do about treating/caring for kids. It's a sad reality in our modern age. We used another doctor in an emergency (which was at 2am) and as a result, refuse to allow our family there anymore. Yup, simply dropped us because we put our child first and didn't wait until they opened/we could get an appointment. read more

I went In for a sick appointment at 9:30 showed up early like they say to do and then didn't get pulled back till 10am . As the doctor proceeded to complain about her nurses not taking an oxygen level she then left us in the room for another 30 min. Instead of proscribing antibiotics which she needs I had to walk around and get someone attention and they finally got another doctor to tell me he would read her chart and then text me when he sends the antibiotics over lmfaoooo we left at 11pm no help what so ever you would be better off taking your child to the ER to receive care and caring help. Doctor terry didn't seem to care what so ever I had a 1 year old approaching to lunch and naptime and were. Becoming very uncomfortable . 2 hours and we received no care what so ever I was forced to take them home and I will be taking her the the ER tonight if symptoms worsen . I never had the problem till today when they decided to place us with doctor terry lol a joke. They should consider reevaluating the doctors they have on their team. Some of the doctors are good - but the staff especially scheduling and billing are rude. Zero customer service skills. Good luck getting in if you have a sick kid - a nurse will talk to you and MAYBE you will get an appointment. Otherwise you get sent to the ER or urgent care. No lie. We were sent to the ER and NEVER seen when I called in twice because my daughter was coughing and said her chest hurt. My kid had a virus. I just needed to make sure it wasn't bronchitis and she didnt need meds. My other kid that they sent us to urgent care for Twice? Well since they didn't see her for those cases over the years she is a new patient if I want her seen for her well child - my other kids we got phone calls to remind us of well child visits. Never her. So she can only be seen if she comes in as a new patient. Save yourself time and frustration and go ANYWHERE but here. read more

We love Island Coast Pediatrics! We have been very happy with all the Doctors, but our Primary Doctor is McKenna. Dr. McKenna is extremely personable and makes you feel like you're part of his family. Our kids love him, and so do we! We've never had any issues getting same day sick appointments. This place has extremely sketchy billing practices. They will bill you for absolutely everything under the sun. Example if the doctor asks if your kid eats right expect a $100 bill for dietary habits assessment and good luck seeing an actual doctor and not a practitioner. read more

Billing department is rude, the front desk is rude... the only saving grace are the practitioners... from the bedside nurses to the physicians. The company however, needs to reevaluate the conduct of their business side. read more

I'm very unhappy with the way this office handled my claim for my son.I addressed the issue with my carrier and was getting it taken care of. Even though I provided them with all the information they requested they still refused to see my son unless I paid them for the new visit as well as the the visit that they mess up on.I explained that my son was wanting to see a Navy recruiter and needed to have his asthma issue addressed before he could see the recruiter Not very professional in the way they handled the situation I would definitely not recommend this office to anyone read more

I'm hesitate to give good reviews to Awesome doctors because I don't want them to get really busy that I can't get an appointment. I switched to Island Coast Pediatrics for my toddler and infant from a private pediatric practice after having difficult getting an appt for a well check. The group in Estero all have been wonderful. I've had no issues getting advice, authorizations, or obtaining a sick appt when needed. Dr Bruno, Physician Assistant Terry and their nurses do a fantastic job. Thanks for all you do! read more

Dr. Nicole Bruno is a new doctor there and she is amazing! this was the first time I had been to this office and I'm just seeing these yelp reviews now. If I would have seen the yelp reviews I probably wouldn't have gone there but I'm glad I did. the staff was great and the Dr. Bruno is like a gift from god! My 4yr old is the worst patient, she clams up she doesn't want to talk and she's def. not taking a deep breath for anybody...lol Dr. Bruno walked in and she is super cute and super sweet and she got my daughter to actually have a proper check up with no fights! She got her to take a deep breath so she could check her chest (after having pneumonia that her other doctor did not catch) I was so shocked I could not believe it, no doctor in 4 years ever got her to take a deep breath and she did it in such a cool and smooth way I couldn't believe no other doctor could have thought of that! (not giving away her tricks) :) I'm a mom of 2 and I am a pain in the butt when it comes to my kids and customer service and this place is great! Horrible and in my opinion "unethical" office policies. For example...my son missed his appointment (for which we were charged 50$), and we didn't but should have called to cancel. Because of this, he has to be scheduled with another provider at his next visit. I asked "Is this some sort of punishment" and was answered by the manager "you can consider it that". Continuity of care is a big deal and especially when it comes to kids. A medical practice is between a patient and his/her doctor...not the doctors practice. read more

I have taken all my children here. I have seen great doctors here and some that make me feel like I am going crazy. But one in particular that constantly tells me you should just stay home with your child it's the daycare. Today I told him it is not possible for me to stay home. So find a different answer. But other then a few there I just go with my favorites. read more

It's a good place to take your kids, doctor are good but they are very rude and unfair my ex and I were going there for our kids but we missed a couple of appointment [during the break up]and banned us for life they can punish us but not the kids that's messed up I totally see where we went wrong but for LIFE that's just not cool I mean go if you want just know they will be rude to you and if you miss 3 appointment in the year they will kick you out for good. read more

Island Coast Pediatrics has great doctors and nurses; sadly, it is also plagued by horrendous customer service and an even worse billing department. My son's 3rd month checkup was cancelled because I had to go to my car to look for my ID (which took no more than 3 minutes), when I got back into the office they had cancelled the appointment and according to them the only available appointment was month away. This in turn caused my son to miss his Rotavirus vaccination which now he can never have, and has been running a month late ever since on every checkup. They had no issue a month earlier when taking my $650.00 credit card payment without even asking for my ID to check against my card, but they couldn't possibly wait two minutes to see my son. Today my son has an ear infection; we call the office and they can't see him, or even answer questions until we pay $300.00 from the time my son was born (he's 9 months old now) which apparently the insurance didn't cover, and they took the liberty of cancelling our next appointment. We never received any notification of this happening, no mail, no call, nothing at all. If my son hadn't had an ear infection the only way we would have found out that we owed $300.00 would be when we went to our next appointment in which they would have most certainly taken my money again without checking my ID, but would have refused to see my son without one. For that reason we will not be using Island Coast Pediatrics anymore and would never recommend it to anyone. I feel terrible that their great doctors and nurses have to suffer the consequences of their substandard and unprofessional billing department. read more

HORRIBLE PLACE!! Dr Seitz is the rudest person I've ever met. The staff is rude, the office is filthy, every time my daughter goes in for visit she leaves there sick, or worse than when we went. Dr Seitz refused to fill out a simple form so my special needs daughter could apply to get a wheel chair. We had to pay all out of pocket because his opinion was she didn't need a chair. The man is a horrible doctor. NEVER TAKE MY CHILD HERE AGAIN. read more

Dr. Troast is awesome!! The office staff is HORRIBLE!!! Rude, Unkind, and very Unprofessional!! They do not return calls, follow doctors requests and need to be fired!!! Even the office supervisor is Rude!! They are there for the children and parents as a job, and they say and do whatever they want, make up lies, make excuses why things were not done and try to blame the parents for their incompetency!! A lot of wasted time dealing with them trying to get my children's paperwork and prescriptions. Make sure before you leave the office you get all the paperwork then not later!!! Ft. Myers office needs new office staff to go with the great doctors and place they have created. Estero office is much more professional and reliable!! The 1 star is for the office staff!!! Horrible. Expect to wait between 40 minutes and 1.5 hours AFTER you get into your room. I have been going here for many years but told them yesterday that I was going to have to find a new pediatrician. The response was, "well, if we know it's going to be more than an hour we will let you know". That's of course after your already sitting there. It also doesn't include the 1+ hour wait you may have after they get you into a room. read more

Unethical Business Practice. Refused appointment and turned away for my daughter's appointment in which was confirmed for three consecutive days for 9:10 a.m and in which I showed up at 9:24 am in which is Island Coast's Policy. They did not follow the court's order in which was on file. I took off the morning off work to accommodate this time. I spoke to a Becky, Sandra, Holly. They would not give me the paper I signed until 1 hour 35 minutes later , bills, medical records, insurance information. The Dr would not speak to me. They do not care upon your child or well being. They care upon how much insurance money and copay they can get. The Racist Supervisor Megan asked me for copay up front and allowed other mothers and parents to go ahead without paying co pays first. I was singled out as a man and single father. This Predication office doesn't talk to the parents and In Southwest Fl. I am suggesting to Run from this location. They Need to be put out of business.
