They will do pretty much anything you need done. Efficient and helpful. Mowed some land for us and did I a great job.

Months ago I contacted this business who was referred to us to help us mow a new property that we…read morepurchased but were not able to get to for a month after purchasing it. I am not sure of the reason that our communications between us were far from consistent and only occasionally did I get a response back by text or email needing to discuss his services and received a quote in order to move forward. After so many attempts weeks apart and knowing that our property was being neglected by us an since we could not get to this second home for a while and the owner of this business I eventually just said mow the *&^% lawn would you please? Still no quote and had to assume that they would be fair. I maintain our 2 properties myself so I have tractors and lawn tractors, string trimmers, rakes and sprayers. One of our properties is 10 acres and the other 20 acres so I spend alot of time outside. Well still no communications whether it was getting done or not and certainly no quote, I had to assume which I don't like to do but had no choice. When we arrived there ourselves with all of our equipment the property had been mowed quickly it appeared and not bagged so alot of tall dead long grass laying on top. It is about 1/2 acre so not large but not small but the work performed was far less than what I would do myself and still no communication. Eventually while I was there working on our new property a bill came to this address which we do not receive mail there since no one is there often yet. Again, the level of care was far less than what I would do myself and I do not do this for a living. I had much greater expectations of detail. The invoice and still no quote came in considerably higher than expected having said he mowed and trimmed this twice. $180 to do the first mowing and $150 to do the second mowing. Under the circumstances I would have expected either better performance or a lower invoice. This is just my opinion. Perhaps you will have a better experience with Meier's Lawn and Garden than I did but felt compelled to share so that others may have an informed opinion as a consumer.

I've gotten 3 different estimates and Angeles Landscaping was definitely a fair estimate when compared to the others. We had one give us an estimate of $3,200, one said $1,500, and Angeles asked for $1,800 so we were happy to pay that amount given the faith we had in his work. When Daniel came over, he asked the right questions and thought of things I didn't think about. He asked how far we wanted the mulch to go for the edges, what we wanted trimmed, how high we wanted to mulch to be (we went with 2.5 inches), and he made sure to let us know he wasn't just going to cover things in mulch, but he was going to remove the moss, weeds, and everything before to do it correctly. We got the estimate on Thursday and Daniel and his team (2 other people) were able to come by on Saturday morning. They started at 8am and were finished around 3pm (so around 8 hours of work). When he was finished he even hung around patiently, asked if I had any questions, and was surprised I didn't have any. I was very confident when meeting him that he would do a good job. I didn't feel like I had to micromanage him to do a good job, and I was correct in thinking that. Overall, I definitely recommend Angeles Landscaping for landscaping needs. The price is fair, they work hard and are very thorough with their estimate. Thanks for the good work!

I had a tiny back yard, cute and neat, but not very useful. I saw the reviews here and elsewhere…read moreand was impressed by the positive feedback given to Jumanji. I met with Jumanji and told her that I'd like to create a seating area, I needed privacy from my neighbors, and I like a riot of color, mostly purple/lavender, fuschia, white and chartreuse or gray. That's just about it. With that little bit of direction she turned my humble yard into a fairy tail garden. It's like a Monet painting! When my partner saw it he responded, "Wow!" Even my son, who, as a teenage boy, isn't the most effusive (unless you want to talk video games), commented, "The back yard looks really cool!" Jumanji gave my little yard the artist's touch. It is perfect. Jumanji's rates are reasonable and she will come back for regular maintenance, which means she will continue to watch her handy work develop and will take more care than most. Now all I need is a table and bench or chairs so I and a couple of my friends can enjoy the beauty and serenity that is my secret garden.

Connecting with Oliana Gardening was superbly serendipitous. As an interior designer and landlord,…read moremy gardens need to be both aesthetic and highly functional, and preferably mostly native. I needed a landscaping establishment that was reliable, trustworthy, knowledgeable about natives, the right price, able to do both maintenance and renovations, and, this was a biggie, artistically trained. Oliana Gardening is meeting all these needs beautifully. Reliable and trustworthy means appointments are kept, communication is good, work gets finished, and my property gets cleaned and locked up as it should be. Being able to trust Oliana Gardening as I do makes my life so much easier. Jumanji really knows her native plants, and helped me figured out a scheme for a sunny front garden that I was failing miserably with on my own. I'd spoken to other people about natives before, but they either couldn't imagine an entirely native garden, or were so natives-oriented they seemed to sniff at my aesthetic needs. Jumanji supports my dual and sometimes conflicting requirements. For example, while it's stressful on sword ferns to completely cut their old fronds, we're compromising with selective trimming. The fact that Jumanji does both installations and maintenance is especially helpful because every act of maintenance from pruning to carefully placing excess leaves in the right spot all leads toward the overall garden vision. She's not going to damage anything from ignorance or mess up what is working well like my clean gravel drive by getting dirt all over it as one "gardener" did. More, Jumanji keeps teaching me new things about gardening, which makes the process fun. To me, Jumanji's greatest asset, is that is also an artist. Many companies have great plant knowledge or construction abilities, but their gardens often lack unity or artistry. I absolutely love collaborating with Oliana Gardening as one creative with another. Jumanji understands the creative process, creative angst, and "can we move it again?" Jumanji also has other equally talented colleagues, so when I wanted a border between my plants and gravel, she brought in an artist friend who can weld. Together they created a beautiful steel border and craftily installed it among carefully placed rocks to make everything look level and balanced. Last, Oliana Gardening understands my garden ambitions aren't backed by a big budget so existing plants, rocks, leaves etc. have been used to their utmost. To offset costs, we'll figure out things I can do myself, we'll work together for a bit (such as when she wrapped one of my trees with holiday lights and installed some new large rocks), or spread work out over several months. My garden has really come together since working with Oliana Gardening, and I look forward to working with the company long into the future.

We decided to hire her for a patio redo, and she was great to work with from start to finish. Alison helped with design, material selection, taking in our feedback, and provided a more than reasonable estimate that no other contractor would have come close to. She clearly communicated the project schedule for, and she finished on time with temps going into the high 80s! Alison stayed within our budget estimate with a few minor material updates, and we felt she brought more value to the table with her attention to detail. I cannot be more pleased with her work, and I am looking to have her possibly help more in plant design for our yard with her knowledge of native plants that will be more manageable for our busy lives. The Whidbey community consistently praised BL Landscapes as the "best in town," which led me to…read morereach out to Brian via Facebook Messenger on February 16th to inquire about a potential backyard project. He responded promptly, and within a few hours, we had scheduled an appointment for Friday, February 21st at 2:00 PM. On February 21st, my husband and I met with Brian to share our vision. He provided his professional insights and ideas and let us know he would follow up with a written bid. On the evening of February 23rd, we received the bid by email. We appreciated the quick turnaround and informed Brian that we were awaiting a few more bids before making a final decision. I also had a couple of follow-up questions, which he answered promptly: * How long will the project take?A project like this would typically take two weeks. * When can you start?I do not have an exact timeframe yet. Once we decide on materials and I place the orders, I can provide a start date. By March 18th, we decided to move forward with BL Landscapes. Brian shared links to various paver and retaining wall options, and on March 20th, I replied with our selections. On March 21st, we met Brian at Starbucks to provide a 50% deposit as requested. During this meeting, we asked if the project could be completed by Easter. Brian noted that he had a full schedule but some flexibility due to clients being away, indicating it might be possible, though he didn't commit to a definite yes or no. He also mentioned he would send additional wall suggestions over the weekend, despite us having already sent our choices the day before. On March 23rd, I emailed a few minor design changes, no response. By March 30th, still having received no follow-up regarding wall options, I emailed Brian again. He apologized, saying it had been a hectic weekend and that he would send the wall info "ASAP." No email arrived. On April 3rd, I followed up once more after noticing our deposit check had been cashed. I asked if that meant materials had been ordered, even though we hadn't yet received the promised follow-up. That evening, Brian replied stating that the funds were still on hold, but he intended to send material options over the weekend and apologized for the delay. Finally, on April 5th, he sent wall options, 2 weeks after he initially promised them. We responded immediately, confirming our choice and asked how long it would take to receive the materials. Brian replied, "I will contact my supplier Monday and get an answer for you." Monday came and went, again, no response. 11 days later, on April 16th, I followed up asking if materials had been ordered. I also expressed concerns about the project timeline and stated that if a May 1st start date was not feasible, we would prefer to cancel and receive a refund of our $13,000 deposit. No response. On April 21st, having gone over two weeks without communication, we sent an email requesting a full refund within 24 hours. Brian responded on April 22nd, citing illness as the reason for his lack of communication. He stated:"I understand that you are frustrated and looking to go in a different direction. I should've made it clearer during our initial discussions that we are booked out well over a year. I was willing to work your project in as fast as I could, but our schedule is not set in stone because we are 100% focused on quality..." He agreed to refund $10,000 immediately and the remaining $3,000 once he received a refund from the supplier, which he said would take "at least a few days." We were shocked by this response, as at no point were we informed that BL Landscapes was booked out a year in advance. Had this been made clear, we would not have moved forward with them. We responded and expressed our concerns. Brian delivered the $10,000 refund on April 25th. On May 2nd, 8 business days later, I followed up about the remaining $3,000 and requested proof of the refund transaction if there were further delays. Brian replied, stating that in 25 years, he had never had a client who was not 100% satisfied (of which is not true if you take a look on Yelp and Google reviews). He stated that manufacturer refunds take time (see April 21st for how long Brian said it would take) but promised to drop off the balance on Saturday, May 3rd. On May 4th, we received a message stating he was out of checks and would bring the refund on Monday, May 5th, which he did. If you've made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read our experience. I felt it was important to share this detailed timeline to help potential clients understand what they may encounter. While BL Landscapes has many glowing reviews, unfortunately, our experience did not align with them. Brian may categorize this as an "unfortunate miscommunication," but in truth, it was a lack of transparency and a failure to communicate effectively, two qualities that are critical when managing client relationships and running a business.
