Was not sure what time they closed. Apparently it was about 8pm on a Sunday and I arrived 5min past. As kind as could be they fired up the grill again to whip me up some of the best Puerto Rican food I have ever had. Disclaimer: I have never been to Puerto Rico, but I now have been to the best Puerto Rican food truck. The cook came out truck side to give me a run of the menu providing excellent insight. After much deliberation I landed on the Mofongo, La Canoa, and a virgin Lavender Margarita. Fortunately I intended to share these plates because the portions was massive, but even larger were the flavors. Mofongo is a classic and a special of the day, but for those who do not know La Canoa is a local dish featuring a baked sweet plantain base stuff full of picadillo de carne, spiced cheese and salad. A combination of flavors completely new to what I had considered to be my experienced palate. These dishes enrolled me in school, drove me to the bus stop, picked me up later that afternoon, and even helped me with my homework they were so good. Sweet meets savory. Soft meets crisp. Daniel meets heaven. The Lavender Margarita likewise was entirely new and the only thing it was missing was tequila which I quickly found on my shelf to take an already incredible variation on a traditional beverage to the next level. When I asked "why that much" is when the person proceeded to explain that the "falafel" was separate and had an up charge! (Something the person should have said when I asked for that combination instead of waiting until I asked why the short change back)...Not enough with that, when I had ask to just have the one main ingredient instead of the combination (again, up charge Not stated in their menu!). The person still shorted me with the change and said "when you come back for the food I'll give you the rest" (a few more dollars that they didn't seem to have in a venue that mainly accepts cash as a payment option!?)...The worst came after I sat down on the table to discuss all of this with my wife and one of the ladies sitting right next to us and that seemed to be one of the owners, started eavesdropping and proceeded to bully us, raising his voice in anger about "taxes being charged" and with her hands up in the air wouldn't even respond to when I had asked her "who she was and why was she getting in the middle of our conversation" she kept flailing and raising her voice! At this point I thought she couldn't have been the owner since what kind of business owner would act this way to customers without ever asking "what seemed to be the problem?" At least! Instead when I said that the person inside the food truck had made me come back a few times for my right change she responded with her hands flying up in the air that she didn't care and that wasn't important! My wife begged me to leave by how horrendous that scene was! I picked up the food and decided to ask for my receipt and there it was besides the local taxes charged a POS charged when I had payed cash and no POS was used! At least none in front of me!....Business owners should never treat customers this way! Maybe is a cultural thing or not but not in the US! Worst experience of my life at a place to eat!

Somehow my wife found out about this food truck, currently located at the West Coast Church of the Cross on Tuttle just north of the Siesta Drive circle. We can be a little adventurous sometimes, so off we went. We got both the beef and chicken versions, they also offer pork. The operator, I assume Charlie from their facebook page, was super nice. He made sure we got just what we wanted, and we headed home. Opening the containers, it didn't look particularly appetizing. It did, however, taste very good. The marinated meats, both the beef and chicken, were very good. I like noodles and I also liked the ones in this dish. I felt like it was something I might find in a food court. Without really knowing what good Bul Go Gi is vs bad Bul Go Gi, I found no problems with either the food or the experience, so I'm rating them high.
