The food was so delicious! The service was amazing. The ladies are super friendly and personable. We will definitely be back !

This is based on the new location on Florida Avenue The aesthetics here is nice they did a good job on the decor. I happened to be in the area tonight and stopped in to sit at the bar. The dress code was not enforced but that's the least bit of their concern. It was grand opening night so I want to give them grace but I ordered food still 5:36 to be exact by 7:26 nothing came. I ordered the Thai wings. For dinner I ordered the smothered turkey wings and again 2 hours later no food. They should've stopped the menu at some point. Kate the bartender was good but she could only do so much. Parking is packed so you have to valet. Valet does not take card so have cash or Apple Pay them. I ended up ordering a bottle of water and I had two drinks. Drinks were paid by another patron. So all in all I left this place having paid 21 dollars for essentially Saratoga water (7 dollars for the bottle and 15-10 dollars with 5 dollar tip). I know they have kinks to work out and I wish them well. But I'll never revisit this establishment in Seminole heights it was a very poor dining experience well the food never came out

I usually DoorDash my order but the app wouldn't let me select any sides so I went in. When I say the customer service was top tier babyyyyy! Top Tier! My goto order is the jerk chicken, cabbage and Mac with rice and peas. The oxtails are fire. Fried catfish fire. Honey fried wings are yummy. Collard greens on point. I will never get tired of this place!!

When I'm in the mood for some southern down home cooking I head to Mango's Cafe. Located near the USF area in Temple Terrace. Their menu mainly consists of southern soul food & Caribbean delights. If you want flavorful, well seasoned food then head here! I enjoy their Turkey wings, collard greens & Mac & cheese. Don't forget their amazing cornbread. They feature a brunch once a month as well as a full Haitian menu in January. The place usually gets packed so go early. There is inside seating available but table selections are few. The wait times can get extremely long and sometimes it feels like the line could move faster if they had a better process with taking walk up orders. I did notice if you order online you tend to get the food faster. Parking is available and the parking lot is pretty spacious. Give them a try if you'd like to enjoy some southern cooking just like Grandma made it.

I want to first start off by saying that I knew the food was going to be good before I ate it. The ambiance in this place was amazing! Line wrapped around the small location and all. I had the absolute pleasure to meet miss Marie and wow! What an incredible human and what an incredible experience I had. From beginning to end it was great. The way miss Marie ran the line, the food line along with her younger sister was an experience to witness. I got the yellow rice with turkey wing gravy, the jerk bbq chicken, Mac and cheese, greens and a side of yams. My boo got the Thai salmon, yellow rice, Mac and greens with a side of the hot honey chicken and everything was delicious! The mac and cheese, yam and green bite was absolutely perfect ! The chicken was fall off the bone bomb and the flavor was bomb. The Thai salmon was so flavorful and fresh to order which was great. The honey chicken was crispy and delicious ! I would 10/10 recommend this place. I was on the line for over 35 minutes and it was well worth the wait. I wait over again just to try the rest of the menu and I would bring more people with me to not only try the food but also experience the love through miss Marie and her youngest sister. The love was felt through the food, the spices and the welcoming atmosphere. I'm so happy I got to try this place.

It's heartwarming to see a successful Black woman-owned business thriving with a consistent line out the door. Some folks prioritize quality over quantity. Mangos delivers both at a reasonable price. Food is prepared in small batches. Only a few items like the whole red snapper, salmon, and shrimp are made to order. The small batch cooking ensures no one is leaving with food that's been sitting. The beef patties are even made from scratch. The best I've had. The one area for improvement is the Jerk Chicken. Considering the stellar cooking of the Jamaican owner/chef, I'm surprised the Jerk Chicken isn't smoked rather it's oven baked. Still pretty good. One of the best restaurants in the area and worth driving out of your way. Pro Tip: The Rum Punch will sneak up on you.

It was my first time and it was good. I had the turkey wings which were quick large and my son had the jerk bbq chicken. I had greens and yams and he had greens and mac n cheese we both enjoyed it and like she told me I had some for later. Oh and that cornbread was good as well. The staff was friendly I'd go back.

I've eaten food from here a few times, but I was finally able to make it to the restaurant. I went here on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty busy. The line was to the door, but the wait wasn't too long. The staff were so kind. The owner made you feel right at home. She even noticed we were sitting outside, came to check on us, and brought us water. They have some searing inside, as well as two tables outside. The food is fresh, and they fill your box to the top. You literally have at least 2 meals in one. We had the oxtails and turkey wings as our entree, which were tender and tasty. The gravy for the turkey wings was delicious and nothing like I've had before. The cheese pull in the macaroni was perfect. The collard greens and yams were also very flavorful. I ended up getting a few pieces of chicken and cornbread. It just looked too good to pass up. The chicken (not pictured) was fried perfectly and the hot honey sauce was great. During the week they have Caribbean food. On the weekends they have soul food. They also offer a Sunday brunch menu, which had Greta options to choose from. I definitely plan to go back to try other items on their menu.

Very good food. I got the curry chicken over white rice wit cabbage and Mac n cheese. Lunch special is a good deal for the amount of food. They had good music playin and the ladies working were very nice and sweet.

The food here is amazing! They have Caribbean food Mon-Thurs and Soul food Fri-Sun. I opt for the soul food so on Saturday you will see people lining up outside the door before opening. It's always busy so that is a good thing to do. I've had their jerk chicken meal and the lemon pepper shrimp. Both delicious and they give you a lot of food. My only issue here is how long it takes to get certain items. So I love the lemon pepper shrimp but they make that to order and it takes a long time. Like sometimes people behind me would get their food they had to get made separate before me. I wish they could improve that. So if you are in a hurry this might not be a spot for you. Come when you have the time to wait if you are getting items that they have to make to order. Also with online orders, they are doing that tandem with in person. I think to prevent backups they should make those in a separate area. Other than the long wait for certain items like shrimp and other fish, this place is definitely worth it.

I could honestly eat here every day, that's how good the food is! This isn't your every day chain restaurant, this is a family owned establishment and the food is clearly cooked with love! I love the owner here, she is truly an angel. The Southern Fried Catfish was unbelievably delicious and cooked to absolute perfection. Best catfish I have EVER had in my life! The collard greens were perfect, the dirty rice was SO flavorful and the scratch made cornbread is heavenly! They are busy on the weekends but the food is worth EVERY bit of the wait, and they are opening a new and bigger location soon! I would give them 100 stars if I could, I already can't wait to come back.

The food was tremendous!!!! My favorite thing was definitely the turkey wings. It's very hard to find good turkey wings and they knocked it out of the park. It tastes homemade. The hot honey wings were overly crispy, perfectly sweet and perfectly spicy. My soon to be husband when he remembers to propose is who encouraged me to try this place. I love the music they play. They mix it up between soca, afrobeats and other popular music. There is a line but the line moves at a moderate pace. But the food is good so I was pleased to see that there's a line. They also serve alcohol. Ample parking out front. Located in a strip mall type of plaza

The food at Mangos Cafe & Specialty Store was good! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the CANDIED YAMS WAFFLES!! My order: Oxtail and Grits, Chicken and Candied Yams Waffles. For a side I had Grilled beef sausage with Onions and Sweet Peppers Yes all that food.. Don't judge me ... Try it!! Because those Candied Yams Waffles was EVERYTHING I NEEDED AND MORE!! The atmosphere: Very small tight cafe with a long line! However, if you are able to find a seat, you don't have to wait in the line. The line is for to go orders. BUT ONCE YOU TAKE A BITE... YOU WONT REMEMBER THE WAIT!! My Review: The food was good. My favorite item was the Candied Yams Waffles!! The staff were friendly. I will say they need to work on the wait time with seated guest. Make sure you check the type of menu for the day you plan a visit. They offer Caribbean and Soul Food menu on different days with an appearance of a Sunday Brunch menu on the last Sunday of every month (visit their website for details). Overall Score:7.5/10

Neither one of us had been here before but I saw it had very good reviews on Google. We both got the chicken dinner with different sides. He had the Mac and cheese and I had mashed potatoes since they were out of candied yams. We also both had yellow rice and collard greens. We also shared honey cornbread and hush puppies. Everything was VERY good!! There were a few downsides. We came on a Sunday evening and most of the food was sold out. The women who took our order said Sundays are also busy so we notated that for next time. The wait time is very long since the staff is limited. That day it looked like there were 2 or 3 people working. Lastly, I ordered a lemon poundcake and when I got home, it wasn't in the bag. I was pretty upset. The inside is nice, although very small so I would recommend getting the food to go. They don't allow call ins in advance so be prepared to wait. The staff were also very friendly. I would go back but earlier in the day and double check that all my items were in the bag.

Lol) They definitely came through for me today! Very friendly Johnny and his restaurant have earned 5 stars for the delicious food, the low prices, the excellent service, & the convenience of this location (inside a Texaco). Approximately two years ago this soul food eatery was opened in honor of the family's Mississippi matriarch, Miss Edna. She is 85 years old, and has always cooked with love. She was #7 of thirteen children. You'll find her photo on the wall behind the counter. Breakfast is available from 6 AM - 11 AM Monday thru Friday. (I've heard it's excellent.) Weekday lunch is from 11 AM - 2 PM. Salads, sandwiches, & burgers are offered. The menu is posted on a whiteboard on the wall. Saturday hours are 7 AM -11 AM for breakfast & 11 AM - 2 PM for lunch. (*All hours are temporary due to Coronavirus fears*) Each day the LUNCH BUFFET changes. Today I had my choice of barbecue chicken or roasted pork, along w/ sides. To avoid carbs, I ordered a double heaping of cabbage to accompany my chicken legs. My food was delicious! I did see mac & cheese, rice, gravy, & a few other buffet offerings. I was a tad disappointed that there were no greens available, but they're offered on other days. That gives me an excuse to return:) This is definitely a locally owned business that is worthy of patronage. The business's Facebook page reads, Miss Edna "taught us how to love, respect, be kind, generous, and have faith in the Lord. We take pride in giving the world a taste of her love." I enjoyed sipping on it throughout the meal, and it was the perfect drink to warm me up. For food, we ordered the golden beet salad, the black bean sauce mushrooms, yakitori, sea bass collar, and the lamb vindaloo pappardelle. We also ordered the olive oil cake for our dessert. My ranking - yakitori: divine! the use of the jammy egg yolk as a sauce was creative and well-executed. The chicken was also expertly grilled and juicy. Even the lemon with the seasoning added great acidity and spice to the dish. loved it! - sea bass collar: this was delicious and a fun experience. We really appreciated we could eat with our hands, and the wet towelette to clean our hands after we were done. I love a nuoc cham sauce, and it goes great with fried fish. I thought also four pieces of collar was a sizeable portion to split with two people. - olive oil cake: scrumptious and light yet so satisfying, definitely hit our dessert crave. No notes. - golden beets: the beets are nice and sweet, followed by the gooseberries in here which add a tartness, but the ricotta mellows out the flavors and adds richness and creaminess. The bread for dipping is also quite nice. - pappardelle: wish this was a bit more saucey as the noodles were quite thick and layered. The spices of vindaloo were there, but the flavors didn't penetrate through to the pappardelle noodles. - mushrooms: my friend really liked this dish, so it's all personal preference of course. I thought the black bean sauce was a bit glued to the bottom, almost too pastey. It didn't incorporate with all of the mushrooms, so the ones at the top didn't have as much flavor as those on the bottom. I think the paste could have used some loosening with some liquid, although that might forgo some of the mushroom crispiness. Towards the end, the sauce was just too overpowering so I couldn't find myself reaching for it. Service was wonderful. We were checked on multiple times, and when we got up to go to the restroom, the staff would come over and fold our napkins back on the table for us. I found prices to be super reasonable for what we got. A must-go if you're in the tampa area!
