I ordered Jerk chicken, with cabbage and Haitian rice. All were delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked and spiced. The sides were wonderfully flavored. My husband had curried goat which was tender and very flavorful. The pikliz, a spicy cole slaw was packed with flavor. The service was friendly and outstanding.WOW and YUM! read more

I had the jerk chicken and was nicely spiced, but very flavorful. The chicken was super tender. Haitian rice and steamed cabbage rounded out the plate and the cabbage was amazing. So much more than just steamed cabbage. Hubby had the island fried chicken and it was also fantastic. Service was attentive and efficient. Food was amazing made from scratch and portions were huge. Service was fast and friendly. Plantain chips were crunchy and delicious, best goat I've had in North Dakota. As we were passing through Dickerson, North Dakota, we elected to stop for the night. I was looking for a restaurant with gluten free options and this one popped up. What an amazing treat. Not only did they have lots of GF offerings, the food is delicious and freshly prepared. You might find it a bit difficult to find though. Innovative entrepreneurs have opened up restaurants, boutiques and salons in an abandoned hospital. So you might wander the halls for a bit but it's definitely worth seeking out. read more

Found this lovely oasis of flavor while searching around for a place for dinner in Dickinson. Three of us landed there this evening. The location is deceiving as it is perched high in an annex of a hospital. The tiny restaurant is inside one of the office suites. Service was prompt and welcoming. A board on the wall describes the menu - Jamaican and Haitian cuisine. Drinks are limited to a refrigerator full of bottles of water, soda, tea, and Haitian Malta soda. No alcohol is served. The interior is tiny and has 4-5 tables. The kitchen is adjacent and looked very clean. Ordered two dishes of Shrimp Coconut curry with Haitian rice and spicy cole slaw. The third was a Jerk Chicken, Haitian rice, and spicy cole slaw platter. Also ordered fried plantains as an appetizer. Food arrived quickly and was plentiful. The tastes and spices were exquisite - yummy shrimp in Indian curry powder sauce. The cole slaw had a good kick to it. The rice with kidney beans offset the spices very well. All in all an excellent dinner. Prices are reasonable given the ample quantity on offer. Glad we went to this lovely local restaurant...please patronize, you won't leave disappointed! read more

Don't let the odd location fool you - the food goes hard. I failed to take any photos before demolishing my order but I can't say enough good things about it. We had the Oxtail (weekends only) and curries chicken with rice and beans. Sadly they were out of plantains and jerked chicken when we were there so we didn't get to try more of the menu, but what we had was excellent. Such a serendipitous find! My husband and I were on a road trip and stopped in Dickinson for the night. We searched for supper that wasn't fast food. Found Island Cuisine and it took us back to our trip to Jamaica 14 years ago. We had the jerk chicken and island fried chicken and they were both perfect. Cabbage and rice sides were excellent as well. Wish we didn't live so far away because we would definitely be back! read more

A great change from the norm. I've never had a complaint about any of their menu items. Being ND, the plantains go quick. That's a regional issue though. They will always compensate if they do run out by offering a discount or another side. The Pikliz is fantastic. Better than I've even had in places in Florida. Love the Haitian rice too. I've had all but the Ox tongue which is on my list to try but I love all their dishes. Improvements would be minor. Promote more, expand, and move into a nicer local, but I'm not complaining on their current location since it's practically across the street from me. I think they'd get more business if they move locations though. read more

Best restaurant we have tried in Dickinson. Outstanding yummy. Jeck and curry chicken were both great. Jerk chicken taco also great.
