They screwed up on 2 orders, took forever to get them, then they were the wrong thing after everyone at the table had eaten, so sad but offered to take them off the bill but never did, that was really BAD! Amazing homemade food. Everything was FRESH. Even the lettuce and tomato on the cheeseburger were BEAUTIFUL. The homemade ranch is great as was the lemon dill aioli. The Grub Tub is a somewhat unique cleverly hidden restaurant in Dickinson a couple of blocks off 2 major streets north of Villard and east of Hwy 22. This business started as a food truck and their menu has several answers to some frequently asked questions written around the outside edges of the pages like are the plants real ? Can we touch them? Some of the vines plants stretched across the ceiling. The business was quite active for a Saturday afternoon but all the employees were quite friendly especially our server Emmi who answered all our questions including can we steal the menu which she answered no but she would give us a paper copy. Upon parking we were met with a special menu board near the entrance with some of the days specials some we didn't recognize Emmi explained them quite quickly and accurately and we ended up eating two from the board the main dish we had was a honey Jalapeno terriaki bowl over rice with your choice of smoked brisket or pulled pork it was quite large and we split it after asking if they allowed splitting dishes For dessert we had the spring thaw cheesecake whip was blueberry cheesecake with blueberry and lemon drizzle and whipped cream on a pecan crust of which we received 2 forks without asking. Oh both were so tasty and we were quite full. For those of you who won't eat anywhere without adult beverages they have a nice list of beverages for youth or adults but the restaurant was kid friendly and I don't think they had any mixed drinks. They have a lot of choices on the menu but not so much you can't you can't get thru it and they have a couple of rotating choices changing daily our meal was the first day of trying the honey jalapeno teriyaki bowl with the brisket and it was quite good with a distinct smoky flavor. Don't miss the board that shows the grub of the day. Steak bite bowl was so good I kept eating even after I was full. Everyone enjoyed the smoked queso appetizer. My son always gets the onion bacon smash jam burger with cheese curds it's his favorite. The service was decent. However, the food was very average. The hamburger patty on the burger had no char or crust, seemed like possibly a frozen patty. The ranch was clunky and didn't really have any flavor. I SPENT $8 on a cheesecake that wasn't even baked cheesecake. That was disappointing to spend that much on something that really didn't even have the consistency of cheesecake at all, just mixed together and put in the refrigerator. Was hoping it had actual fruit nice I got the mixed berry. Side salad was probably the best thing I had. Ambiance was nice and server was sweet. I'm not sure why a random waitress that I didn't have kept grabbing stuff off my table and not saying anything was a little weird. This meal was roughly $33 total. Traveling through and stopped based on menu and good reviews. Definitely worth the stop. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Wish we could have tried everything on the menu. Mac n cheese was super tasty! And even took their homemade cheesecake to go. The location is in a nice stop, available parking and wasn't too busy on our Saturday early afternoon stop. I will start out with the owner is very dismissing to me and would only talk to my fiancé when we were at the restaurant... even though I was the one asking questions (as the bride who has more knowledge about the wedding, he should of acknowledged me). We had reached out to the owners about booking our wedding for June of 2025. We went out and tried the food in July of 2024 and had booked them the same month. Eric had told us that he would write out a quote for us and send us an email. We hadn't heard from him for many months we would call the resturant and they would tell us that he would get back to us, we would never get a call back from him or his staff. In January of 2025 we drove 3 hrs to his resturant to able to get ahold of him, cause he wasn't returning our calls and we didn't have an email to reach him at either. We asked to speak to him and maybe after waiting 20 mins he came out to our table to talk to us. (FINALLY AFTER 5 MONTHS OF NOT HEARING FROM HIM!) It felt like he didn't care to listen or hear our concerns at all when we were talking to him, he then went straight to saying how he is willing to say his communication isn't his strong suit. He continued to blame us for our " Attitude" as we were on way out of his resturant he had stopped us to tell us that. We approached him with a calm demeanor and he wasn't willing to talk and made us feel stupid. He finally sent us a quote that weekend, I then replied to his quote a while later with some questions I had. He had responded to my emails and within those emails he had said he no longer offers full service catering anymore. Which when we had booked him he had told us he does formal catering services and then when we went out to his restaurant he had told us that he would do a buffet style service.... Nothing about no full service. Me and my fiancé are very patient and kind of people and he was not! Very disappointed about their customer service and Eric is very rude.
