It's extremely unfortunate to have to post this considering the DOCTORS come highly recommended. We have had a very unpleasant experience with the front staff. As a military veteran family, we are aware of long lines and wait lists. Also how they work. We have been on a "list" since April 16, with an appt time of Aug. we have called numerous times expressing my husbands pain and discomfort without resolve. Or an opportunity to get assistance. I finally asked to speak to the office manager because the pain is going down the jaw- Jenna Spelios- the wife of one of the dentist said it would be better to have us go else where because she was upset that we were so disappointed in her front desk. I couldnt agree more, we asked for a way to contact someone else her response was to look online. Save yourself time, headache and money. Go to an office where your health and care are a priority. That an office manager who takes your frustration with kindness and offers a solution, and not a back ended I would have helped you "if"... thats not how customer service works. Be your own advocates! Its truly unfortunate about the people at the front line- preventing the doctors who signed an oath to protect and treat. Jenna stated she was the owner and she makes the decisions. So we will look elsewhere- you should do the same. read more

Dr. Martin is so kind and honest! He was very transparent about exactly what was going on with my infection. He referred me to an endodontist and let me know that it was my choice if I wanted to try to save the tooth or have it extracted at island dental. I went ahead with the extraction. Dr. Martin called me the day BEFORE and AFTER the extraction. The day before, he answered any questions that I had and carefully explained treatment options and gave exact pricing. After the extraction, he called to make sure I was alright and asked if I had any follow up questions or concerns. After a few days, I was concerned about the extraction site and he had me come in the very next day for a check in and clean up. Super helpful and AMAZING! Called 1 month ago told I would have to go on a waitlist for a cleaning for new patient. Appointments were booked thru November. Receptionist took name and insurance information and said she would call when there was a cancellation. I called back today the girl who answered told me there would have to be two appointments. Never had this in Hawaii, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, California or South Carolina. As my father is a Doctor it seems a way to get extra Dr visits and $. Oddly as I've worked and lived in many other states and gone to many different dentists I would have to agree with experience. If this is their practice and procedure it would have been nice to have at least scheduled the first appointment a month ago. Makes no sense to delay when it would be more efficient to fly somewhere else and have a teeth cleaning. read more

Called to make an appointment after being vaccinated for COVID. Asked what I thought was a reasonable question (are the dentists and hygienist vaccinated)? You know, because it's a reasonable question to ask for someone who's spending an hour or two in my mouth. The receptionist said "WELL HIPA THIS AND HIPA THAT".... "we can't disclose that"..... seriously? If you're going to blame HIPA for your inability to recognize your customers health matters more than disclosing vaccinated healthcare staff then I'll blame you for the loss of a customer. We are snowbirds from Ohio and last year I had a crown fall off. I'm not kidding, but it happened at 9:45 a.m. on advice of a local I called Island Dental. They asked how soon I could get there I said 20 minutes. At 11:45 I walked out of the office with it repaired. Unreal! Well today I lost a filling in one of my front teeth. Called at 9:00 a.m. they scheduled me for 10:30. Walked in at 10:25, waited 5 minutes and went back to the dentist. He came right out checked it, took an X-ray and repaired the tooth walked out at 11:00 a.m. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Spelious and the entire staff. My only regret is the aren't in Ohio and could be my primary dentists. This is what all dental clinics should aspire to be. Two thumbs up and thanks. read more

The entire staff is very professional and knowledgeable. Been going here for a while and it was all good until...I had to have two teeth removed. Met with Dr. Martin who was great. He showed me the partial I would need, took the impression and made an appointment in a month. Dr. Spelios extracted the teeth and put the partial in. I didn't see what he put in. I kept the partial in for 24 hours as instructed. When I took it out it was not the partial I had been told I would get. It was obviously a larger and more expensive piece. When I complained about feeling ripped off I was told my complaint was too "harsh", that they would return a portion of my money and help me find another dentist. Seriously, you pull a bait and switch--accidentally or on purpose--and you're upset with me! I have requested my full records and proof of the price differences of the two partials but have received nothing as yet. read more

I had the most amazing experience having my teeth whitened by Ashley today. I walked into my appointment with very high nerves considering I have never had my teeth whitened before and have a front tooth crown. My fear was that my other teeth would not match my front crown tooth. Well was I wrong, Ashley did a phenomenal job at being thrall through the whole process, I shared my feelings about my fear and she gave me her expert advise. While on vacation, I fractured a tooth. Island Dental took me in within an hour, took an excellent x-ray, asked to get my Dentist on the phone, offered to email the x-ray to her, explained in great detail what the problem is and spelled out exactly what course of action I may take. Dr. Eaton spoke to my Dentist, and they agreed the tooth could be saved. The Hygienist, Ginger, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and congenial.
