I was then presented with a treatment plan totaling $2800. Mind you, this is 3x's the national average for said procedures so I decided to book a ticket and go to my regular dentist in Philadelphia. My dentist in Philadelphia found that I DID NOT have the 2 cavities I was told I had, and that I DID NOT need the deep cleaning that had been recommended. Learning this was extremely concerning and left me questioning the ethics of Old Town Dental. I believe they profile new patients based on where they live. I was left wondering whether treatment recommendations and pricing may vary depending on the patient. I can't say for certain, but the high cost of the proposed treatment and the big discrepancy between my diagnosis and the actual dental work needed raised concerns for me. Before my appointment, I had seen comments on a local Facebook community page from others who expressed concerns about their experiences with this office. I chose to make my own judgment at the time, but after what I experienced, I now understand why those concerns were raised. I would steer clear of this dental office, all together.

Before that, both days, they blamed their own staff's lack of knowledge and experience on, "they are doctors from other countries". The young girls at the front desk, rather than encourage and praise their "doctors from other countries", protecting and defending them, chose instead to use it against them as faults for being inexperienced and slow. If we hadn't been forced into pre-paying our cleanings after the initial exams, we would never have set foot in this establishment again. Now we are hoping they repay us what they owe, as our insurance covered everything.
