The office manager was great in getting up an emergency appointment. My husband was seen by Dr Kristine Hertzog . She was great and listened to him. She order antibiotics and I was told the pharmacy didn't receive the order. Even though the clinic was closed, I was able to email Dr. Hertzog and she called me and let me know that she sent the prescription in for him and this was Saturday when they are not open. We just wanted to thank her for caring about his pain, even as a new patient. Will recommend this medical clinic to friends. Charlene

The reviews…read moreare great so I felt like this would be a good choice and so far after two appointments, I really like this clinic and Dr Mailer. Before coming to Sand Lake Dermatology I had a biopsy at another clinic and was scheduled to have a carcinoma removed. I was unable to have this done at the other clinic so I booked the first appt available with Sand Lake Dermatology which was set for the end of July. Once I was able to get my records sent to the clinics, a staff member called me right away and moved my appointment to have a carcinoma removed from my face to last week. Because of the interactions I had over the phone and online with this clinic, I felt comfortable having this clinic remove the carcinoma even though I had not even seen the clinic nor doctor. While I was mildly aware of what the procedure entailed, the staff that prepared me answering questions and numbing me(Marisol and Aaron) were great and made me feel comfortable. Dr Mailer was just as nice and made me feel comfortable. I was of course aware of the dr performing the procedure, I couldn't see it and didn't feel it. The procedure is called Moh's procedure where they typically cut away the determined margin around the affected area, bandage you up and let the patient wait in the lobby while the removed specimen is being reviewed in the onsite lab. If the lab determines that not enough was removed to show clear margins, the patient is brought back in and the dr removes more repeating the process until margins are clear. In my case, the dr removed all that needed to be removed leaving clear margins so after the lab results returned after a couple of hours, I was brought back into the procedure room and the dr proceeded to stitch up my wound applying dissolving stitched under the skin and removable stitches outside. My appointment for follow up and outer stitches removal was set for one week later( this past Tuesday). I was prescribed a heavy antibiotic and advised to keep Vaseline on the stitched up area and keep it covered with a bandage that is changed daily. Once I was stitched up, I mentioned a growth I have noticed on my eyelid and the dr suggested that on my follow up appointment she would take a biopsy. So this past Tuesday I had stitches removed, the area where I had stitches seems to be healing well and it doesn't appear that there will be a heavy scar. I am happy to see this as the area that was removed was quite large and the area stitched was quite long. The nurse, Natalie numbed my face, the stitches were removed and I didn't feel anything. They also numbed my eyelid so the biopsy could be taken. This is a sensitive area so this was a bit more intense but it went quickly and the biopsy was done. I will likely have results next week. What could have been a high anxiety first procedures (I've never had any surgery or stitches) turned out to be a pretty smooth experience. I recommend consideration of Sand Lake Dermatology as the staff and Dr Mailer were great, the waiting room is comfortable and even the staff that manages scheduling, check in, check out, nurses, physicians assistants all made me feel important, individual and taken care of. I wish all medical experiences could be similar to what I experienced.

I am so happy with her as a physician. The first time I came to talk about one issue but she found a couple "precancerous" spots and treated that too. Today I came for a full body exam for any skin cancer, since it is very common in my family. She also helped talk about a surgical scar I have that isn't healing normal. She is just so thorough and caring. I trust her and will be back with any dermatology issues in the future.

At our latest appointment Makeesha took a biopsy on my face and it was confirmed to be basal cell carcinoma. I had Mohs surgery along the side of my nose, near my eye by Dr. Sequeira who is Board Certified and very competent. During my prep and during surgery the surgeon was assisted by TJ. TJ was so personable and knowledgable about the type of surgery and what to expect. The area was very sensitive and TJ really helped me through it. He finished up my procedure by bandaging my wound and made certain I knew what to expect and how to care for my stitched wound until my follow up. The following week I saw Makeesha for my follow up. Prior to Makeesha checking my wound, TJ removed my stitches. He is so gentle & sympathetic that he makes the whole experience from start to finish tolerable. TJ is a true asset to Brevard Skin and Cancer as is Makeesha. I highly recommend Brevard Skin and Cancer to everyone!

I just relocated here and had a Dr I visited for a few years.. it want on purpose. she didn't ask me if there was any other concerns I might have.,she didn't ask me one thing about me at all.. very disconnected. I did have a couple thing to discuss but she walked in & out of the exam room so fast I didn't get to discuss anything with her. Her nurse tech was kind of rude the way she told me to move my hair so she could see the problem on my back.. that NP never even touched me to feel the cyst., quick in & out not going back.

She's not ambulatory on her own and needs help getting into a wheelchair and in and out of a car. We arrived to an empty waiting room 20 minutes late after calling to verify we should still show up and being told yes she would still be seen. Upon arrival and check in we were then told a different story and that she won't be seen due to the fifteen minute late arrival window. This was at 230pm when they don't close until 5pm. And I'll take the blame for use being late due to getting the address mixed up, I'm from Orlando not Viera. But for the staff to NOT see an elderly bariatric non ambulatory patient and not make any attempts to accommodate her? That's totally unacceptable in my opinion
