We have been patronizing this business for years.... Spending thousands of Dollars over that time. We have tolerated delays in completed alterations and dry cleaning. The very last straw was the complete discoloration of a year old $380 outer jacket. When asked what they intended to do about it....their response was "I don't know, Miss" ( no personal name used) When the question was repeated the response...." I don't know". I was really disappointed with my experience at island cleaners. I had a bridesmaid dress that needed to be altered and when I went on the seamstress was nothing but nice to me. I thought the price for the work was fair and reasonable. When I went to pick up my dress a week later the back of the dress would not fully zipper/clip closed and the chest was raised so high (straps taken in too much). I was not upset with the seamstress for this work and simply just wanted to resolve the issue. She became combative and aggressive and was actually screaming at me in the store in front of other customers. She was telling me that I was insulting her work, when I simply just needed to resolve the issue so the dress could be worn for my friends wedding. In that same time she also told me that she should have charged me more because the work was hard. Upon trying to "fix" the issue she did not even re pin it or take my measurements she simply said "I know what I need to do" when I picked the dress up a second time it was still not right. I paid the full amount, even though after the way I was treated I should not Have paid. To avoid another altercation I took my dress elsewhere. I would not recommend this location for any alterations. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Place is absolute scam and horrendous customer service. I had a dress altered for a wedding...I came to pick it up and it was covered in stains. They said the dress has been worn before and the stains were not their fault (dress was bought brand new) They said they would have someone remove the stains the next day...I came back to pick up the dress the next day...the old stains were gone except this time there was a MASSIVE oil stain on the FRONT and BACK of the dress. The dress is completely ruined and they refused to refund me or apologize. Instead they blamed the entire situation on me and demanded the stains were from me...even though they had the dress the past 48 hours. Can't make this stuff up. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

I rated this one out of five only because I had to- zero would suffice. They quoted me a price on dry cleaning, and when I went to pick it up, the price was substantially greater. The owner proceeded to be nasty towards me- saying he made a mistake and yet refusing to give me the original price when in fact it is not my fault he made the error on my order. He was ridiculously unprofessional, screaming and yelling, telling me I had cheated him, as well as the woman working as well. Some of the most disrespectful service I've ever received. read more

DO NOT get anything done here if you have a time constraint!!! I sent in a dress to be HEMMED, TWO WEEKS ago and walked in to find they HADN'T EVEN STARTED. Absolutely unprofessional staff. The woman gave me attitude and acted snobby when I was trying to decide whether to bite the bullet and let them finally hem my dress, or take my business elsewhere. Only got offered $2.50 off my $50 hem for the inconvenience because they KNEW my hands were tied as I need the dress for a wedding tomorrow and dont have time to pick it up. read more

I attended a wedding on the island this past weekend and this was my only choice to have my dress pressed. The dress was 100% silk and it still had tags on it and the dress was very expensive. Having traveled 3000 miles I had no choice but to have it pressed upon my arrival. The very nice gentlemen told me, no problem. But a woman (owner perhaps) and possibly her son) was there when I picked it up. I of course looked the dress over , only to find it wasn't pressed well and a mark (hopefully not a stain) was on the dress. Instead of being apologetic to me they began to accuse me of looking for a problem and then arguing with me that it was somehow my fault and then to top it off, accused of "trying to get out of paying for the service". I was infuriated at this point and gave her the $20 for the poor service, because who cares about $20 when I paid over $400 for the dress. Are these people insane?
