Meet the Business Owner: Shaun M.
Dr. MacInnis was born in Prime Brook, NS and is happy to be back practicing close to home. He completed a BSc degree in Chemistry from UCCB in 2003 and then went on to complete his Optometry degree, with honours, from the University of Waterloo in 2007. During this time he was chosen for extra training in Texas and Florida for contact lens fitting. He also spent four months in Salt Lake City, Utah where he gained extensive experience with cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. In 2013, he was involved in the Macular Assessment Program, a national study identifying patients at risk of macular degeneration. He has also been very involved with the Nova Scotia Association of Optometrists, most notably as President from 2012-2014. He has volunteered his time for Halifax and Sydney Connects, providing free eye exams and glasses to those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless; and is part of 100 Men Who Care CBRM.
