Extremely creamy artisan gelato with a great selection of flavor! I sampled the whiskey chocolate (more chocolatey than boozey), and yoghurt lemon, thyme and shortbread (very citrusy) flavors before finally settling on the rocky road, white chocolate and raspberry ice cream in a cup. It was a lot more berry than I expected, but it was still delicious nonetheless. I heard they have another shop at the ferry terminal in Auckland city, so you dont have to go all the way to Waiheke just to get a scoop of this delightful goodness!

Salted caramel and amaretto. Pure love.

What a gem! This was such a pleasant stop on the way back to the car. I had two scoop but want to go back for ten scoops!! Next time I'll have the Choc, orange and coconut flavour. A single scoop is $5 NZD. Coffee and bagels are also served here. Service was fast and friendly. What a gem.

Operating out of a brightly decorated shipping container and serving artisan gelato, Allpress coffee and Best Ugly bagels, Island Gelato Company really stands out on the main strip in Oneroa Village on Waiheke Island. I had read consistently great reviews about this gelato place and when the opportunity rose to visit Waiheke, I was very excited. What stood out the most was definitely the service - the owners were welcoming and the two young girls behind the counter were friendly and chatty. Another great thing was of course, the gelato. We got to try most of them one and they serve a variety of flavours including honeycomb, chocolate mint, boysenberry, cookies and cream, lemon meringue, banana/maple/walnut and last but not least, salted caramel with white chocolate- the girls said this flavour always sells out first. And I can see why! It is a mix of sweet, salty and creamy. What more could you ask for in a gelato?! It was melt in your mouth, absolutely delicious. I would happily come back just for their salted caramel and white chocolate gelato - it really was out of this world! So if you're visiting Waiheke and are craving a sweet treat, definitely check out Island Gelato Company - you won't be disappointed!

Yummy!! Plenty of selection and located right at the wharf! I got the coffee affogato and it was heaven.

Good gelato but stingy serving sizes. For the price they could be more generous. Good selection.

A very cute little artisan crafted gelato store set within an opening/ food-truck sort of style shipping container found in Oneroa village.

Pretty darn amazing, I must say!…read more Vulcan Lane Bagels has just opened up right in the heart of the city, serving bagels with an array of toppings, Atomic coffee, cold drinks and pastries from Scratch Bakers. This place is a hole-in-the-wall, with a bench seat, room for only two people, so ideally this place was designed for on-the-go bagels! I came here for lunch yesterday, seeing as it is right across the lane from my work! It was incredibly busy when I arrived, however owner Ruben was friendly and welcoming and the other lady taking the orders was efficient. However, I could tell they were feeling the stress with so many people! After overhearing another customer telling his friends that the "chipotle beef was so delicious", I just knew I had to order it! Served with a fresh tomato and onion salsa, herbs and their homemade hot sauce, the chipotle beef bagel was absolutely melt in your mouth, to.die.for, scrumdiddlyumptious! I could have eaten another one (or two) it was that good! But watch out, it is spicy, and had me grabbing for my water bottle every few bites! I can't wait to go back and try more of their toppings. Here's a taste of what else is on offer: - Scrambled eggs, prosciutto and thyme (ideally a breakfast bagel - they open at 7am) - Pastrami with hot wholegrain mustard and smoked Swiss cheese - Avocado smash with lemon and chilli flakes - Peanut butter or nutella! Highly recommend trying out Vulcan Lane Bagels! Plus everything they serve is under $10 - absolute bonus!

I dropped by this relatively new spot on Vulcan Lane the other day, after wondering for weeks where…read moreexactly it could be! It's literally a little window, blink and you might miss it... just look for a huddle of people on a weekday - they seem to have a lot of regulars from the nearby offices! I couldn't decide if I should be annoyed or amused by the service here. The guys working are super friendly, but this means they are chit chatting away with the customers (particularly the ladies, let's be honest) while a line is building up behind them. With just the two of them working, it makes for slowww service, but verrrrry friendly and personal service. Basically, don't drop in for a quick takeaway coffee and bagel on the run, it's more like a beachside cafe on island time at a takeaway window on Vulcan Lane. The bagel was pretty good - I got some kind of riff on a normal offering in order to get melted cheese and avocado together with some chili flakes. It's not a giant NY style bagel (still haven't found a proper NY bagel here, I know I know) but it'll satisfy in the meantime. They were happy to mix and match their offerings, and their bagel/coffee special is the best deal in town (you get your coffee for $2 - whatever kind you want!) Only problem, you guessed it, the guys got chatting and my coffee was waylaid until I reminded them. Great coffee once I got it though!

Goodness Gracious is a tucked away store/cafe in Eden Terrace. Unless you work around there or…read moresomeone told you about it, you would hardly notice it. Goodness Gracious offers a menu of NY Bagels, which the store follows a similar concept at Best Ugly Bagels. To be honest, I was initially hesitant to try Goodness Gracious. I have had Ugly Bagels a couple of times and there was a lot to live up to. Their menu was quite standard with your classic sandwich fillings in a bagel but executed well. I do like the option to choose the type of bagel you want. I'm a sucker for salmon, so I chose the Classic bagel. It was a nice change since the salmon was cooked rather than raw. My dining partner chose the Wilbur bagel which was an unusual bagel filling with a spiced pulled pork. Again like Burger Burger, this was a very messy bagel to eat although tasty. We also had to try the Peanut butter and salted caramel smoothie. For $7 this was quite reasonable with the unique flavours and great flavour. Seating was very limited so we had to takeaway. This is where we realised some of the bagels you may need a fork and knife to eat it. Good place to try. Everything was tasty and quick, just not quite as good as Best Ugly Bagels.
