Dr. Huynh is an excellent dentist who makes you feel seen and heard--you're not just a patient in the chair, and you can tell he genuinely cares. I opted to get clearline aligners done through Dr. Huynh and after years of hating my teeth, I now love to smile and get compliments all fo the time. Turns out they had messed up a filling that now needs to be redone, but they couldn't find me a time within the next 2 months to do so. Gross incompetence. Don't see how it is appropriate to damage a patient's filling, but then not see them for 2.5 months and leave the patient with pain, inflammation and unable to chew? Have had regular cleanings every 6 months for 20 years with no issues. First cleaning here ends up with acute inflammation and pain, and a damaged filling. If they can't get a regular cleaning done properly, would be very concerned of having done anything even remotely complicated here.

However, the dental hygienist who was also very friendly but I did not appreciate her telling me that I have gum disease. I have great gums. I am a faithful flosser and was told that I only should floss once a day VS my twice. I have great teeth and thus have changed Dental Offices because of her.

The dental hygienists are great (I see Kelly and Carrie). The office is friendly, usually on time, and they are diligent in trying to keep your costs to a minimum if you do not have insurance. There is a new receptionist there and she is very nice as well. The only thing that they do not have, that the Dentist had that I went to in Whiterock, is a TV on the ceiling. I do miss that, but they do have postcards up there that you can look at. I would not hesitate to recommend this office and these dentists.

This made no sense to me because the last half a year (since my last dental appointment, at which no dental issues were discovered) I had been taking the best care of my teeth I ever have been, even investing in an electric toothbrush. I went and got a second opinion at Poplar Dental where they used a CariVu dental instrument to double check the X-rays. They revealed no cavities and only minor declassification (reversible with the right toothpaste). Moral of the story, Cadboro Bay Dental was ready to operate on 9 teeth with invasive and expensive procedures when Poplar dental clinic reassured me that no issue was present. Get a second opinion folks.

Dr Mulholland was super caring and gave me some options for alleviating my anxiety. The hygienists are awesome and I always have a fun time chatting and laughing with them, even with a pick in my mouth.

When I went for the work, I made damn sure to tell them not to do ANYTHING that was not covered in my plan and to make damn sure that I didn't go over my limit. The woman at the desk assured me I was good to go except for something like $50 (whatever, no big deal). A few months later I receive a bill in the mail for just a little under $500. Way. To. Go. Woman behind the counter! Way to go..... Anyways, I will take my business elsewhere, I don't have excess money to throw around like that, I can't take chances on this sort of stuff. Oh, the dental hygienist cleaned my teeth just fine, but then again, so do I. Haha!

I am 55 years old and due to challenging dental experiences as a child, have always been very…read moreanxious going to the dentist. As the day approaches, so do the knots in my stomach. And then, once I'm there, spend the entire time, battling nerves, trying to pretend I'm fine, am like everyone else, not sweating through my clothes. Trying to act like shots of any kind don't freak me out. Add to that, that my mouth doesn't always seem to respond to the freezing the way it should. So, more often than not, I am not 100% frozen which ends up being quite painful and embarrassing. I recently returned to Victoria and had walked by Dr Pite's office quite frequently while walking my dog. Once I passed when the staff was coming back from lunch. They were laughing and seems happy, like they enjoyed their work and each other. I went home and checked them out on that MD rating site. Really good reviews. A couple days later, I was walking past with my husband and I said, Let's go here. We went in and made an appointment for a cleaning and check up. We filled out questionnaires and although I was a little nervous, it was only a cleaning. I am very good with hygiene and was hoping there would be no need for drilling or shots etc. Two weeks later, around a week before our cleaning, I bit into a wintergreen lifesaver and broke off my tooth! Panic. We called the office, but they are closed on Friday. We left a message on his cell. Keep in mind we were soon to be new patients, had never met him personally. Well, he called back and came in to the office to see me that afternoon, and filed down the sharp bits so I would be comfortable. He was very kind. The next week he was able to prepare my tooth for a crown. And I was very, very impressed. Like crazy impressed. He knew that I'd had bad experiences, he explained everything he was going to do, he jiggled my cheek for the shot and so it barely hurt and put the medicine in slowly so again it wouldn't be as uncomfortable. He checked with cold to make sure it was frozen, because I could still feel he gave me another jiggly shot, this one I almost didn't feel. He didn't start until my tooth was totally, totally numb. He offered me music which was a great idea and I was able to focus on that instead of all the drilling and noise. And it didn't hurt at all. Another first. It was the best dental experience of my life. I am 55 and for the first time, I don't feel afraid to go to my dentist and I'm real glad because he is young and that means I'll probably be dead by the time he retires and so I won't ever have to be scared again. If there was a ten star thing I could click on I would do that. Was the most stress free dentist visit I have ever had.

I feel the need to update my review, because the procedure that I had done was not successful…read more Although I didnt feel major pain or discomfort, the gum graft didn't take and the surgery is to be done again. Dr Pite and the staff were caring and I can't say anything bad about the overall service, but in the end, the success of the procedure is what matters. So I just want to make future patients aware that for this specific type of surgery that is a gum graft, I would recommend to see a periodontist who has more experience with this type of procedure.
