I knew that it was one of my fan units going bad, but wasn't sure which one. I have an above average knowledge of computers, but have never made any repairs on my own. For that matter, never before have I needed to take a PC in for repairs. I was a little unsure about where to go. Initially, I took my PC to a famous "big box" store that's known for keeping repair staff on site. Considering they wanted to charge me $69.99 just run a diagnostic and tell me what I already knew was wrong, I decided to take my business elsewhere. Upon searching Yelp for a local computer repair business, I found The Computer Dept. After reading their website and getting a feel for their business, I decided to give them a shot. I am so glad that I did! Steve at The Computer Dept determined that my video card's cooling fan was busted. He had a new card ordered, installed and running within twenty-four hours. On top of that, his price blew the "big box" store away! I was able to get my PC completely repaired (and upgraded for that matter) for just a little more than what the "big box" was going to charge for the diagnostic! Who knows what the "big box" would have charged me if I'd actually let them repair it! When at all possible, I try to keep my business local. The Computer Dept said that they would, for $160 plus tax (I double-checked the price with 'P'), wipe the computer clean, save my documents, and that "it would be like a new computer." Upon delivery they charged me $256, adding on travel time and answerIng questions no one had previously mentioned. What they apparently didn't know is that the Apple Apps that I had used to access my documents are no longer available, even though it was the EXACT same operating system and computer I had. So it is basically useless to me. Why didn't they know that? While they offered to try to get those apps, they found only one of three and it has issues. The fonts are messed up, so when it prints, it's all distorted. I have no access to my accounting and spreadsheets data, nor my art. I do appreciate that at least one person was trying, maybe more to get the apps, but they couldn't. Yet one would think they would have either known that or tested it before delivery. I think there's even possibly a way they could've added those apps from another computer at their store. Not sure. Instead, they actually blamed it on my system. I am not happy to say the least, but they became contentious telling me that my computer was already useless when hacked and that I needed to buy a new one!! I thought I was getting one as good as new. If they believe that, they should never have taken my money. When I spoke up they said they were "ending their professional relationship with me." I certainly didn't see it professional to not take responsibility if a service renders a computer's files inaccessible. What I HAVE is a (hopefully) clean computer with Internet (which my iPad has), ability to open, access but not print documents, no access to important accounting or slideshows. What I DO NOT HAVE is money to buy a new computer. Professionals with ethics would say, "We didn't know this was going to be a problem. We take full responsibility and will refund your money since we did not deliver a usable computer as promised." Instead, they're not responding. I don't know if their Macintosh knowledge is not very good, but in any regard, they should have found a way to either deliver a workable "good as new" computer as promised or refund my money. Maybe you were lucky and got what you needed from this company. But if you have problems, apparently you can forget them taking responsibility, responsive customer service, or compensation for their errors. And absolutely without doubt this was their error.

The logo was placed crooked and was not centered properly on ALL the shirts. Either the person printing is blind or purposely did a piss poor job. I only needed 1 color printed on the shirt and the quality of the screen print was poorly done as a lot of shirts edges looked rigid. The process was horrid once I had my quote done. The instant I gave them the green light to start printing, I received an email of the sample shirt and the picture was blurry! I had to messaged them to send me a proper picture! I'm pretty sure I was over charged since I provided my own shirts but it was still ridiculously pricey. I even double check with a worker there and the worker claimed it was fine. Also, I was told on the phone they do not issue refunds! If you want a professional product done by a professional business, DO NOT COME HERE.

I still had another garment with them and when i went to pick it up i just didn't have the damaged garment with me. I never refused, he's lying. I said i needed to understand the process and what they would do (I'm nervous about it getting further damage) but he kept repeating that i refused to bring it back which never was the case. When i spoke to him he referred to using other chemicals to determine the cause of the issue and I'm not necessarily keen on them doing stuff i don't understand at this point. He wanted to overtalk me and not listen. Thats why i don't feel comfortable anymore. Why wouldn't i bring it back if that's how i get made whole? He's not making sense. I feel completely let down by these guys after using them exclusively for at least 4 years. They didn't call me back for 2 weeks after damaging a very expensive garment, insinuated that I'm making it up, and accused me of refusing to bring it back. I would've had no problem doing so had i understood the process/remedy but i don't really want them messing up my stuff even more. When talking to Brett about my apprehensions , he was very dismissive and unprofessional. He even stopped listening and it turned into a confrontation bc he would laugh at me while I'm talking as if my situation is funny. I don't feel comfortable working with him/them anymore.
