The ride from Captiva to RSW airport was easy to book. The scheduler and driver were very nice. The driver was very friendly and interesting to chat with. My only gripe is that they don't have a credit card device in the car. Your options are to pay in cash or allow the driver a moment to call the office to tell them your credit card info over the phone. What century are they in? It is my own fault that I did not ask them what the cost would be ahead of time. However they are located on a small resort island, and it would be helpful and not difficult for them to post the price of an airport run on their website, or tell you what the charge will be, as well as their way of accepting payment in their confirmatory email. read more

I live on Sanibel and have used Island Taxi for travel to the airport in Fort Myers, and for a one way trip to Venice FL. They are also used by my place of employment for weekly transportation of members and special events. And in all these cases I have found them professional, friendly and willing to try to accommodate your needs if it is at all possible. They are usually early and waiting, even for early morning pickups , which eliminates a lot of stress of "will they be here on time so I make my flight" All there vehicles are clean and well maintained. Be aware that there is also a "Sanibel Island Taxi" which is a different company- I have not used them so cannot comment on them. But Island Taxi will not disappoint you if you need transportation locally or to the airport. read more

I want to give a shout out to "Jerry" who transported my daughter yesterday from the Castaways to Tween Waters, a total of 2.2 miles and charged her $30. He refused to take a credit card or any other means of electronic payment, stating that for local fares it was cash only. Well done....not. Island Taxi was a professional, clean, safe, friendly and dependable car service while we stayed on Sanibel Island. We had an affordable "rescue" ride from Captiva when Uber and Sanibel Taxi weren't answering our calls, as well as shorter rides to various locations on Sanibel. As soon as we called, Island Taxi made it their priority to come get us right away. We rode with a gentleman named Don twice, and he was so kind and funny! Sorry this took me so long to write but it has taken me over a month to get my emotions together. A few friends flew down with me from Pittsburgh to South Seas Resort in Captiva for my Bachelorette party. We chose Island Taxi to pick us up from the airport. A woman in her early 60s picked us up an was extremely unfriendly, she did not even help some of us with navigating around the van as some of us our visually blind and require adaptive equipment . We planned to pay in credit card sowhen she asked for the numbers WHILE she was driving, I asked if she could wait until we got to the resort (which would have been a lot easier for me). The woman seemed very irritated at my response and mumbled something under her breath. I'd say we were probably 5 minutes away from South Seas when she pulled the van off the side of the road and put it in park. She said "we were close enough and their company had Been stiffed too many times and demanded our card". I gave her the credit card information and hoped never to see this woman/company again. If that wasn't bad enough the woman called us at least 5 times while we were still on vacation asking why we hadn't called to use them and to confirm our pickup from the airport (Which I kindly declined). I would love to praise another company, but they asked to remain anonymous when I told them I would be writing a review. This other company was so friendly and kind, that when I told them what had happened the driver would not allow us to pay, even though it was their competitor and we had been using this new company every day for over 3days! The driver said when you come down here you just want to relax so we just want you all to do that while your here.
