Lily waiting on her doctor :)

My fiancée and I were adopting a dog, during the adoption process they wanted updated rabies shots for our two cats. We previously took our dog to West Hills Vet which we loved but they don't make house calls. We didn't want to stress our cats by taking them in. So the search began! It was recommended by our previous vet. I called to schedule an appt they were pretty booked so I got an appt in about 5 days. The price was better than I initially thought for an in-home visit. Dr. Martin and her assistant I wish I remembered her name called ahead of time just to let us know they were on the way. They were both fantastic! Really caring with our cats. Everything was priced well. We then scheduled a follow up for their booster shot. A week later the adoption was finalized. Since we loved the care that was provided we scheduled an appt for our dog too. This time it was Dr. Blakely he was great too! He was so patient with our scared pup. She had a few minor issues and required some medications. This bill was pretty pricey but luckily we have health insurance for her. I had a billing issue which was solved quickly. I realized my cats were charged a $65 dollar exam fee each so $130. They had a full physical just 3 wks prior and I was told by Dr. Martin it would just be the cost of the booster shot. After we paid I called the office. I explained the situation and they let me know once we scheduled an appt for our pup that meant a doctor would be sent instead of a technician for the shot. Obviously had I known that I would just kept the appt with the tech and schedule a doctors appt only for my dog. I thought it would've been easier having all three taken care of at the same time. The office immediately understood my point of view and provided a refund of $130 as the cats did not need a full exam. It was great how it was resolved so quickly! Honestly, if it wasn't I would've had to switch vets but thankfully no need! Great service overall. They truly care about their patients here!!!! I highly recommend!

As an experienced cat owner who has had to deal with various feline ailments causing me to visit several vets and emergency hospitals over the years, Island Veterinary Group has really impressed me. I found them while searching for a good local vet as my previous vet had moved his practice. And after reading so many reviews, (thank you Yelp!) I was pleasantly surprised to see these guys pop up so highly rated AND with a mobile unit! How did I not know this place existed? Well wonder no more because I have since booked several mobile appointments for two cats, one of which is still being cared for. The other, a six month old kitten had to be put to sleep due to FIP and that was my first meeting with Dr Martin. She was so kind and thoughtful even though she was delivering the worst news every pet owner dreads. And a kitten just made it all the worse. But their special room where you can spend time with your pet before the injection, is very comfortable and conducive to what needs to be done. Thankfully I have since had an appointment with Dr Martin with my other cat, that hasn't ended in such sadness and she and her staff are helping my girl feel as good as possible with palliative care. I love their prompt responsiveness when it comes to medication orders, suggestions for alternative ways to administer difficult meds, prescription food orders and test results. They call when they say they will so you're not freaking out longer than necessary waiting on news. And their prices are fair as well. I appreciate the fact that they taught us how to administer fluids to kitty ourselves so we don't have to pay for repeated visits. I really can't say enough about this practice except it really is the best of the best!!

We recently had to euthanize my best friend, Sparky. He meant the world to me, and over the last few weeks of his life he needed constant attention and care. While Dr. Wiener, Dr. Martin, and Dr. Kaplan have always been wonderful and compassionate, the level to which they catered to mine and Sparky's every need was truly remarkable. And several days after leaving their office without my best bud, sobbing in ways I didn't think I could do, the most beautiful letter sympathy card arrived in my mailbox. And while I'm sure other veterinary offices send such letters, please look at the amazingly kind, caring, and empathic words from the entire staff. Truly a remarkable experience during some dark days. Fortunately, I can continue seeing everyone at Island Vet Group with our cat and puppy.

    Moonlight

For the past year, my cat Moonlight has had a myriad of health problems. He developed high blood pressure, lost weight, was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, and had issues with his left eye. I began seeing the doctors at Island Veterinary Group when he was diagnosed with his kidney disease. They have been fantastic with him and helped me understand everything that is going on. Everyone who has worked with Moonlight is incredibly sweet to him. Everyone I have spoken with has been patient, empathetic, honest, and direct. I feel good about bringing Moonlight to Island Veterinary Group and I trust them to take care of him.

    Nacho says thank you guys!!

Obviously I knew about the collars and had bought them in the past. They applied a collar and when I looked at my receipt noticed I was charged almost double for what I can purchase anywhere. In almost 55 years patronizing multiple veterinarians, none has come close to demonstrating the commitment to my dogs' well-being that West Hills continues to display. For example, Cassandra, who works in the front office, suggested an effective means to expedite the delivery of a second course of antibiotics because I was concerned that I might complete administering the first course prior to receiving them. The veterinarian prescribed these antibiotics during a follow-up phone call; this medication would normally have been shipped over the course of several days. Andy, an office manager volunteered to make the arrangements to have the expidited delivery. Faith, a veterinary assistant, was essential to my timely receipt of the medication. Leydes, in the front office, volunteered to complete and email a detailed written estimate for future procedures when I requested an oral summary.; moreover, she composed and emailed the estimate while I was on the phone with her. Furthermore, Leydes was kind and conscientious enough to immediately forward a second estimate when she was not satisfied with the accuracy of the first. Dr. Multani, the veterinarian who has diagnosed and performed multiple procedures on my dog, has followed up examinations immediately with extremely detailed results which she has patiently explained. She has also offered to contact other, unaffiliated practices to gather relevant information for diagnoses, and patiently answered a number of detailed questions during a follow-up consultation. In general, the staff at West Hills continues to demonstrate utmost commitment to the welfare of my dog and has exceeded my every expectation throughout each phase of my interactions with staff. Both my dog and I could not be in more capable and attentive hands.
