I hired these people to replace my roof. they did a terrible job- no drip flashing, nails popped up over the years and caused leaks, alcohol coming out of roofer's pores. Be very cautious they will beat everyone's prices but that's because they cut all kinds of corners. read more

I spent $5k on a garage roof. What a mistake! They used two different colors of TPO roofing. Why??? I look at this roof from my second story window everyday and it drives me nuts. Vi promised to fix it multiple times but never did. Also, from the ground, you can see plastic lining sloppily sticking out from under the gutter. I would give zero stars if I could. I am a real estate agent and about a month ago my clients purchased a home that said the roof is replaced in 2015. When the inspection came back saying that there was a soft spot in the roof we weren't too concerned because it was only a six-year-old roof. Should be an easy fix. However after they closed they had a couple bids from different roofers come out to see how much they would need to pay in order to fix that problem. Turns out the entire roof was really poorly done, there was leaks everywhere, and basically they need a new roof. I tried contacting everybody who is in the previous transaction to find out who actually replaced the roof, turns out it was Islander roofing. I tried calling them three times and left messages with no response. I just wanted somebody to come out from Islander roofing see the problem, and fix it. They never replied to me or called me back. Finally I emailed them and that's when I got a response. They said they had no record of replacing the roof because it was a cash deal. He still offered to come out and look at the roof. Well I got a call from my client saying that he did come out to look at the roof but seemed really uninterested in being there and didn't want to really help. He said that as long as they pay for the materials they would do the labor for free. This was a six year old roof! We should not have to replace this! Then I sent a very strongly worded email to the owner of the company basically saying I was super disappointed in his response, he should take ownership for the problems that he had created, and I never got a response. Seems like this is a common problem with this company. He also mentioned to my clients that all the other roofers that came out and told them that they needed to replace the roof we're probably trying to just get money from them and that he doesn't think that the roof needs to be replaced. I find it very hard to believe that seven other roofers came out and all said the exact same thing just to get money. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, please never use this company. read more

We developed a leak this last winter and they replaced our wet, moldy OSB sheets with plywood. Vi was very thoughtful and checked on our roof late Friday night during a thunderstorm. I hired ( Vi, owner of ) Islander Roofing 7 or 8 years ago to re-roof our house in Yelm. We were living on the other side of the country at the time and the entire transaction was done via e-mail. Vi kept me updated on the progress of the job with text messages and photos. When we arrived in Yelm, we were very pleased with the work that had been done. Fast forward to last week... I contacted Islander Roofing to come back and estimate a new roof on my garage this time. Vi came out right away and gave me a very competitive estimate. Vi did the roof on my home in 2016, it's been leaking in multiple areas, both skylights are leaking, the attic is leaking and full of mold.I had 10 roofers come out and say the roof was installed incorrectly, so Vi came out to look and said he'd provide the labor to fix just the attic portion. I have tried to reach him for two weeks to get this started with no response. Hopefully I can get through to him soon to update this reviews. Not the most professional service. read more

Roof leaks at skylight and into light fixtures. Back porch was never finished. 10 K for less than 900sq foot. We spent a lot of time picking up old shingles and nails from flower beds and driveway ! This property is a recognized wetland ! We can not get this Company to stand behind their work. They work with out permits and found they are not accredited by the BBB they have 3 similar complaints in record. First call to their other identity with different address and phone but same name. Told they didn't do the roof. Next call to Islander different address and phone but same website. They said they roofed the entire place when I asked about porch. Promised me they would come out. Nothing !!! Husband called they came out and informed us they were told not to roof the areas that are leaking. We asked for a copy of contract and the owner was arrogant and rude, said he would try to find it. Nothing!! My Sister paid them with my aunts money ! to do the work. We moved here and began paying the taxes and taking care of the place. Yes I am a owner. She will not produce the contract or receipt for no one !! I offered Islander to show them that I am a registered owner and sole taxpayer if property. Nothing !!! Owner of Islander again says he didn't roof the place when I post reviews. Then owner said he doesn't have to do anything since I didn't pay him. Maybe legally true but our Dilemma is a leaky poorly done roof. Cost money to finish porch and even if we pay $ 2400 to pay someone to fix things we are still worried about future issues maybe needing a new roof ! read more

I found Islander Roofing on another site searching for skylight repairs. It was comforting to see they had many five stars and positive reviews about their work, not to mention skylight repairs -hard to locate. So, I sent a message via the search site on Sunday noon noting we had a leaking skylight that was an urgency as we were heading out of town toward the end of the week. I was very pleasantly surprised I was called later in the afternoon (Sunday!) stating they could arrange to look over the situation Monday. "Vi along with two of his crew showed up very promptly at the appointed time. He said he'd take a look at it first and then let me know what the options were. "Vi did a good job explaining and showing where the seal of the glass had completely deteriorated to the point where it had pine needles inside the panes and edging. A new replacement for the whole glass portion was the only option. The rain storm yesterday uncovered a leak along the water heater vent. In searching on Yelp I decided to try Islander Roofing as the reviews were OK and I did not feel this was a major problem as the roof is only 6 years old. I sent an email last night and got a call back this morning and agreed upon a time. They were running late, but I didn't know that and was about to contact someone else. Vi introduced himself and proceeded up the roof. Sort of as I expected, there was missing caulking. We agreed on the price and it was fixed within 30 minutes. The 4 star rating was just for the lack of communication. When we spoke this morning, they said they would be there in 1 to 1 1/2 hours, but if was just over 2 hours.
