We got married in May 2017 at Kualoa Ranch, Paliku Gardens and hired Isle Media for photography, videography, and DJ services. Overall, they were simply incredible to work with. They were extremely friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process. Photography and Videography: We had 2 photographers and 2 videographers on the day of the wedding for 8 hours. Reese and Lester (photographers) and Zach and Daylin (videographers) were so friendly and made us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera. They captured some great photos and have a great eye for what will look good in a photo or video. They went above and beyond when it came to making sure the bride was comfortable, even if that meant using their own shirts as blankets so the wedding dress wouldn't get dirty when we sat on the ground. Zach and Daylin captured all the best moments on video so we didn't miss a thing when we rewatched our highlight and full video! DJ: We hired on DJ Kevo as our wedding DJ, and he was fantastic. He was very receptive to song requests and kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night. There was never a lull during the reception dancing. He also doubled as an emcee and was perfect during that piece as well, saying all of the bridal party names accurately during the grand entrance, announcing the schedule and keeping everyone moving to where they needed to be, and keeping things lively throughout the night. We wanted to do a really nice baby announcement photo. So we decided to use Isle Media! We wanted to take our pictures at Koolina, but the day before was storming so we were unsure weather or not the next day would have good weather; but it turned out to be a beautiful day. We've seen the work they've done through the years they've been in business and have always loved it. Since we had Tracy's (bf) dog included in our pictures, our photographer made us feel very comfortable and he was very patient with everything (Reece). As you can tell you can never predict what a dog might do next, Kona (dog) had his moments but Reece was still able to work through them. I got married a few months ago and hired Isle Media for my videography services which included full edit, and SDE (same day edit) and 2 videographers with 8 hour coverage. I'm very happy with my decision and do feel that it was worth the investment. I first learned about the company thru Wedding Cafe Showcase and their product truly stood out from the rest. Of course, everyone's needs/wants are different but I knew that I wanted a more trailer/cinema type of feel and they definitely delivered! I think they are very consistent in their product. If you watch their uploads (on Vimeo or through their facebook links) you will definitely notice the patterns. I must say I watched upwards of 50 of their videos for other couples. Yup, this is how I spent my commute the 3 months leading up to my wedding. What I loved the most was my SDE. The experience of watching it and sharing it with my family and friends was absolutely amazing. At first I wasn't convinced I needed the SDE, but then my coworker talked me into it. It was totally worth it for me. My reason was that I painstakingly planned every detail of my wedding and the SDE was the only real "surprise" for me, and it was so amazing to have someone else take your wedding day and package it into a beautiful cinematic experience, something beyond what I ever could have imagined myself. The Same Day Edit shot by Isle Media was one of our favorite parts of the entire wedding. Alan and his team were incredible to work with, from the extra time they spent with us during the rehearsal dinner to helping coordinate fun and comfortable shots on wedding day, they delivered in every way. Isle Media is amazing! We've worked with Lester numerous times for photos and he makes things so easy and fun. Lester is very easy going and just captures the most beautiful images. We met Lester a few years ago at our first photo which was for no special occasion. We were so nervous because we've never taken professional pictures before and we didn't know how to act or pose, etc. Lester made it very comfortable for the both of us and we were able to just be ourselves, and because of that, our pictures were more than we could ever ask for. A few months later, we got engaged and we didn't want anyone else to take our engagement pictures but Lester. We knew we wouldn't be disappointed! A few days before the wedding, Alan asked if we could meet up for a quick shoot prior to the big day. He wanted to capture additional things, knowing that we may not be able to get specific shots the day of, like drone shots, etc. because our reception was held on Hickam Airforce Base. This quick shoot wasn't what we expected, but the turn out was gorgeous. Alan truly has a vision like no other. We can't get enough of their work. Finally, our wedding day! Lester, Alan and Reese worked so well on capturing our special day perfectly. They arrived at my hotel promptly and began working immediately. Throughout the day, Lester would always ask if there were any important shots that I wanted or that he needed to take that he may have missed. If we could do it all over again, we would have totally chosen a different company for videography!! We were OK with our highlight video but were very, VERY unsatisfied with our full length video. They almost TOTALLY left out the groom's side of the family ( I think there were only ONE or TWO shots with them in it. VERY disappointing!) The video's that you see on the website are the better ones, ours came out nothing like what we expected. There was one point in the video while the Best man was giving his speech and the camera went totally out of control and pointed up to the ceiling for a good 5 seconds. We ended up calling Alan to RE EDIT that portion- SOMETHING THAT CLEARLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE THE FIRST TIME. It just goes to show how much effort and time really went in to their work. On top of that, Alan was not too professional when I called with my concerns about the lighting. He brushed me off and basically gave me the "we know what we're doing, you don't have a clue what you're talking about" kind of attitude. Where do I begin? Alan and Isle Media were simply awesome!!! He has been so accommodating since day 1. I found them about a month before my wedding. I preferred not having a videographer, but my mom insisted on us having one at our wedding. I was one of those brides that felt like a video of our wedding was unnecessary. I am so glad I listened to my mom, and thank goodness I stumbled upon Isle Media on a wedding website. Alan is so friendly and nice and was easy to work with. We were able to reach him with all our questions via email and phone. A few weeks before the wedding, we met just once to go over what would happen at the wedding. He told me what to expect and asked me what I wanted from them. My now husband is extremely camera-shy and was afraid, but, at the end of the night, my husband told me that he was very comfortable with the cameras...saying they didn't make him do anything he wasn't already doing. I was excited to see our wedding highlights at our wedding reception. It's amazing how quickly they work to finish the same-day edit. The quality of the finished video was impeccable. I kept whispering to Steve during the video how amazing the quality was. It really looked like a movie. All my guests were simply impressed with the video. Our initial meeting with the Isle Media team was cool, we met him at his house that also works as his office-- we set up a contract and I received the figures the very next night. We decided that we would do a "How we fell in love" video/photoshoot along with the same day videography, photography and a same day edit. Our first shoot was amazing! His team made us feel so comfortable and they took all of our ideas to heart-- trying their best to incorporate all the elements. We had a blast. The day of the wedding they were right on time and jumped right in. I do feel that his team was a bit unprepared for our unconventional wedding-- as my wife and I are perhaps his first same sex women wedding. Watching our video as it compared to all his other weddings, our overall project lacked the tender moments and were replaced with all the silly non emotional elements. It left me disappointed. It took about 3 weeks to get our photos, they came out beautiful! My only gripe is when you're in the moment of your wedding, you forget how important it is to take as many pictures with your guests as possible. I feel like they could have cued us a bit better-- otherwise you'll end up having absolutely no family photos, as in our case... sorta bummed but oh well. Over all the photos were awesome! The presentation blew my wife and I away! So professional and it really felt like they took pride in their photographs and that WE as clients were important to them. Its like getting that blue box when you shop at Tiffany's-- the packaging is just as important as what's inside. The same day edit was EVERYTHING!!! Every detail was perfect, I can't say anything but WOW!!!! Whomever edited that video did such an amazing job-- I've watched it at least a million times. The drone is insane and really brings this out of this world feel. Like you're on top of the world. I have to be honest, I was more than disappointed with my overall wedding highlights and if I could go back I don't think I would have splurged with the 9 hours of videography. My expectations were so high after been given the taste of our same day edit, our wedding highlights had to better, right?! WRONG... 8 of the 20 minute video was a cut and paste from our same day edit.... NO BUENO. I gave the team 5 songs to use with very specific times in the song to use, which they didn't follow. The first song dragggggggged on forever-- leaving me bored, and that song is one of our absolute favorites! They also missed some very important tender moments... For example, we had our guests pass our wedding bands around and pray over them-- However they cut out the entire explanation made by our efficient-- watching the video you have no idea what they're doing OR how special that moment was. Our brothers sang a beautiful prayer, which was also left out of the video completely. We played a very heartfelt kissing game, which also didn't make the cut. We felt over all the video spent entirely too much time on one thing-- my wife sang a song, and they left the ENTIRE song in there-- it was a waste of 4 minutes. Lastly, the packaging-- I hate to say it, but it was definitely the last thing on their minds and it spoke volumes. Our disc was sent to us in a white CD slip. Big difference than our photographs, you wouldn't even think they came from the same company. I wish I had all the video coverage... so those moments would exist somewhere other than my memory. Overall I would recommend them to other couples interested in photography and a same day edit, I've already referred a few couples and many were interested after seeing our same day edit. However, I would really think long and hard if you want to spend the extra money on having them there the entire time-- I don't think we got much out of it. After watching several other videos of theirs before and after our wedding on his ACTUAL site, not Vimeo I do notice a difference in the quality. Maybe we just didn't give them enough to work with, but I don't feel that our video is on the same caliber as others-- and this makes me sad. My wife is a super happy go lucky woman-- its very difficult to upset her, but our highlight video really put a bad taste in her mouth. We never watched it again. Alans team was AMAZING. Thanks to Wedding Cafe, we found Isle Media. Once we met Alan and I found out he was Thai, I knew we found the person we're going to work with. In our initial meeting, he showed us some of his work and his drone. We liked what we saw and stayed in communication with him to plan our video shoot. Our communication were through emails and some texts. The first thing we did was sign a contract and send him a deposit to hold the day. During this time, we shopped for different outfits and props. When we didn't hear from them for awhile, I asked my bb to message Alan. He replied with some tips for the video shoot and confirmed locations for the shoot. It rained a lot the day of the shoot and I was about to cry but we got some footage that wasn't in the rain. The shoot wasn't what we had in mind but Alan said not to worry and with editing, we'll be happy with the video. We worked with Rafael during editing and he was really fast in addressing all our concerns. The final video edit was better than I thought but still not exactly what I wanted. Our guests really liked the video and some said it was the best part of the wedding. Alan and Rafael gave us great tips during the shoot and made working with them easy. All the other companies, looked like a homemade video was slapped in between a production when it came to the ceremony. My wedding planner had sent me a link for Isle media. To relive those moments all over again with my husband and see how happy everyone around us was and how handsome fiancée looked getting ready. How perfect the day really was. We just got married in the beginning of February at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort on Oahu. The team from Isle Media we had were Reese, Jack, Trevor and Kay - all of which were phenomenal. They were friendly, fun and made us all feel really comfortable. They were open to all my crazy ideas - and had great ones of their own. We're at that age where all of our friends are getting married, and now we're the envy of them all since not only did we get our photos and videos in less than 3 WEEKS, they look AMAZING! It's really great that we got all our stuff so quickly - I've heard from so many of my friend that they wait over 5 months - sometimes even a year! overdue update! My husband and me received our wedding pictures and we were left speechless! The pictures are amazing and the moments that were captured just took as back to our special day. We relived our wedding day and that's what we will have forever. We printed copies for our families and images printed beautifully. The case that the CD arrived in has a wedding picture on the cover that Kay selected and she picked a great one. I received pictures in color, black and white, and vintage. Its hard to select a favorite out of so many choices. We are so grateful and happy we got Kay as our photographer from Isle media. I'd like to start off by saying that this review is on behalf of my husband and I, and it is with great pleasure that we write this review for Isle Media! From the beginning of our engagement, to the end of our wedding, and even up until now, it has been a blessing to have Isle Media by our side. Choosing them was not difficult; we did our research like every newly-engaged couple and discovered that although Isle Media is a fairly young company in this industry, we believe their quality of work, expertise, professionalism, and communication style goes beyond what other companies have to offer! With this being said, it was easy to trust and have Isle Media become part of one the most special moments in our lives. My husband and I are camera-shy individuals, and it was extremely comforting to be able to communicate and work with someone like Reese, who was able to work around our shyness and deliver probably the best photos my husband and I have ever taken together. Especially for our engagement shoot, we really enjoyed working with Reese and it was practically a miracle that by the end of the shoot, we were just so comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera (I cannot stress how shy my husband and I are with pictures). We strongly appreciated how Reese listened to our needs/goals for the photos because every couple wants their photos to be a certain way! In the end, we even found ourselves reliant on Reese's photography skills/advice and really appreciated his artistic style to capture our poses perfectly. He even took some time after the shoot was over to take more pictures of us with our cat because he knew how important it meant to us! This goes to show how much Isle Media really cares for all their clients! For our wedding day, my husband and I got the opportunity to work with more of Isle Media's crew (Reese, Kyle, Ray, and Julius), and we cannot express how organized they all were. They showed up early and began working immediately. What we really noticed about them was how well they trusted each other and how strong their teamwork and bond was throughout the whole day. They really strive to make you feel special! One of the photographers was even nice enough to hold the train and fix my dress while taking pictures at our different locations. Additionally, the entire Isle Media team was so attentive in trying to capture every special moment for my husband and I that we cannot think of any moment we were unsatisfied, disappointed, or unhappy while working with them. We are extremely happy with all their deliverables and have received endless compliments from our family and friends! In addition to Isle Media's photography and video, Zairrah did an amazing job with my hair and makeup for both our engagement shoot and wedding day! I've always been a simple person, so I know very little when it comes to hair and makeup. Working with Zairrah was extremely comforting and calming. She was great at listening to how I wanted my hair and makeup done, and I was extremely happy with how everything turned out. After working with her for the engagement shoot, I knew my hair and makeup for the wedding day would be perfect! She eliminated one the biggest concerns a bride could have for her wedding day and that is to look amazing in front of her future husband and all the guests! I couldn't have asked for a better hair and makeup stylist than Zairrah. It's always a huge plus when you work with someone who can make you feel relaxed and so beautiful and natural at the same time! My husband and I highly recommend Isle Media for all their services! After a horrendous makeup and hair trial one month away from my wedding... Zairrah at Isle Media saved me. For our trial we did 3 hair looks and one amazing makeup application. I didn't really know what I wanted for hair and makeup...and Zairrah worked with my changing vision. Zairrah was so accommodating of anything I wanted to try and never made me feel bad that I was taking too much time. Nothing was a bother for her. I knew this was the vibe I needed for my wedding day. I am anal, especially when it comes to makeup. I usually don't wear much, but when I do, it better be on point or it's coming off. Her makeup application was clean: not messy and very hygienic. Most importantly it was so flattering. She made me feel so pretty, classic, and still myself, only a more glamorous version. I don't know how I could possibly put into words how amazing Isle Media is. No matter what service you hire Isle Media for, they will go above & beyond your expectations. We used them for quite of few of their services, so I'll break them down by service. HAIR/MAKEUP - We used Zairrah for makeup/hair for our engagement session. She is amazing! Even though I didn't have any pictures or samples of what I wanted, she was still able to achieve the look I was going for. She even stayed during the entire photo/video session to touch up my makeup and fix my hair. If hair/makeup wasn't gifted to us by a friend, we would have definitely used Zairrah again for our wedding. PHOTOGRAPHY - Reese's photos speak for themselves. But the best part is what isn't captured in the pictures. He is so accomodating and easy to work with. When I changed our location (literally on the day of our session), Reese (& the entire Isle Media team) accomodated us and never made me feel bad about the last minute change. We were so happy with our engagement pictures, we couldn't wait to see what our wedding pictures would look like. But the day after our wedding, I received an email from Reese...with 5 edited pictures for us to share with family & friends!! I couldn't believe it. Again, his work is amazing. VIDEOGRAPHY - This is probably the number one thing that all of our family & friends keep talking about. They were all blown away by our engagement & wedding videos. Especially our Same Day Edit video. We still can't figure out how Alan and the rest of the team are able to put a highlight together in such a short amount of time. But that just goes to show how good Isle Media is. To top it off, our videos were available to view the very next day! As a bride, your biggest worry is if everything will turn out the way that you imagined. If you choose Isle Media, it will turn out better than you imagined. This review is long over due. We got married on 6/20/15 and we decided to hire Isle Media for our photographer/ videographer. We also had other services through them and I will do a review for each of the services.. PHOTOGRAPHER: We had Reese do our engagement photo. He was an excellent photographer made us feel at ease especially cause it was our very first time doing professional photos. On our wedding day, Isle Media photography was hired for 9 hours. Reese was also out photographer on wedding day. We took lots of pictures with our entourage and they came out great. I'm quite disappointed that we didn't have much pictures with our family during the ceremony & reception. When family/relatives wanted to take pictures with us at the ceremony, they told us we will have plenty of time to take pictures later at the reception. One of the things I included in my shot list was to take pictures with the guests. Of course when when you're in the moment of your wedding, you forget things. I feel like they could've cued us to take pics with them or they could've snapped some guests pictures. Only after the wedding I realized that we didn't have any pictures with our guests. We were bummed when we saw the final pictures and video. VIDEOGRAPHER: Same day edit turned out awesome especially when we watched it at the reception. I know they are very busy, so I waited patiently for our DVDs. After 3 months of waiting, I ended up emailing them to check the status. Alan emailed me back saying the edit was done long time ago and there's miscommunication about us wanting DVDs. We didn't receive any links on the videos either. I clearly stated we wanted tangible products when we filled out the questionnaires they sent to us at the very beginning. They tried sending us links, but didn't work and they were having problems with their server. SLIDESHOW: Couple weeks before our wedding, I gave them a memory containing all our pictures to be made into our slideshows. A week before the wedding, I heard from Isle Media that somehow our memory got misplaced and couldn't be found. That's not really something we wanted to hear especially when the wedding was approaching. Despite that, lucky thing we had all our pics saved to our laptop & easily copied them into a memory card and give it to them. Overall, our slideshow did turned out awesome cause they put all the pictures. WEDDING COORDINATOR: It was done by Aloha Bridal Connection w/ Natalie. She and her team did an excellent job. We did a separate review on them.. LIGHTING/MONOGRAM: Toward the beginning, Kevin "Kevo" requested a copy of our invitation so he could use the designs into the monogram. So I sent him the invitation card 2 months prior, & he even confirmed that he received it. Around 3 weeks before the wedding, he emailed me saying he didn't get a copy of our invitation and that I needed to sent it to him. I assumed he misplaced it. Again, this is not something I should be hearing. Of course, I don't have anymore invitations left. So emailed him a pdf file. Then, he admits that he later found the original invitation in the middle of designing. He stated that he will have a proof of approval before the wedding. I emailed him couple times requesting the proof, but I didn't get any response. He did email us the proof, but it was around midnight before the wedding, which I didn't get the chance to open my email cause we were already so busy with rehearsals and transporting our stuffs into the hotel.. He apologized on his email for emailing so late, "traveling was harsh, got sick, too much fun, not enough sleep". Sounds like excuses to me. We saw the monogram at the reception, it was so simple, I wish he could've done more designs on it. Not much effort into it. Lighting turned good & it's the color that we wanted.. read more

Dreams do come true. The saying goes that the harder you work, the luckier you are --and this is the case for Alan Sangpan. A little more than five years ago, he was a police officer with The Honolulu PD working at their Pearl City location. The opportunity to photograph a co-workers wedding opened the door to an entirely different career. Things weren't always smooth sailing, but through sheer will, persistence and hard work Isle Media has become a successful globetrotting one-stop shop for brides and grooms. Tonight we celebrated Isle Media's fifth anniversary--! What strikes me about this young company is not only the beautiful photographs and happy clients, but the fact that they strive to create a positive working atmosphere for their staff and also give back to the community. Big Brothers and Big Sisters was there tonight as one of the recipients of Isle Media's generosity. The Humane Society and other local charitable organizations are also on their list. Alan's and thus Isle Media philosophy is one that I share. No man is an island , we all succeed with the help and support of our communities. And to give back makes it full circle.
