I met a woman in Sun City West whose husband had a relatively new procedure: Jiffy Knee. The surgeon was Dr. Timothy Kavanaugh, based out of Scottsdale, AZ. The 'new' in this process is: not cutting through the muscle or tendons to replace the knee. I made the appointment, had the surgery on Jan. 6th and went out to lunch and to the store with my sister today, Jan. 12th. I am walking on my own (although a walker at first is recommended). I won't have my first post op until 1/21 but as far as I'm concerned, this is the ONLY way to go! My next appointment I meet this POS Dr. William Stevens. He comes in barely & vaguely speaks to me. Says I need an emergency surgery the next morning. Caught off guard, I can't just go to surgery the next day. I need to make plans, I have a family & my own business to run. When I'm hesitant to schedule. He starts rushing me. Telling me to hurry up & make a decision because he is 2 hours behind. As if that's my fault. He also takes a call during my consult. Hangs up and pressures me more to decide immediately. I genuinely believe he totally took advantage of me being vulnerable, in 10 level pain, & used scare tactics to pressure me to have spinal fusion surgery. He never offered any other option. He was completely rude disrespectful POS. I schedule a surgery the next Tuesday morning. The day before the surgery I ask him what I can take for pain that won't be a problem for surgery. He said I can take pain pills & medical marijuana before the surgery with no issue. I get to my surgery location, 3-4 different staff members come to my surgery bed to ask me the same stupid questions. My anxiety for this surgery was through the roof. So I started making jokes with the staff because it was becoming redundant. Does the staff not communicate with each other? The Anesthesiologists has no sense of humor.
