I know this place has some tough reviews online, but I wanted to share my experience because it was truly the opposite -- it was wonderful. I had my first-ever surgery today -- a left hip replacement -- and I was terrified walking in. I'm a nurse with 26 years of experience, and I've seen the full range of good and bad care. The nursing staff at OrthoArizona was exceptional. Every one of them was compassionate, patient, and truly listened. Not that fake, rushed kind of listening -- they actually heard me, responded with empathy, and made me feel supported the entire time. When I got there, I was so anxious I told them I might need to cancel. Instead of brushing it off, they all rallied around me. Dr. Russo even moved me from first case to second so I had more time to calm down and mentally prepare -- and he allowed my wife to come in and give me the pep talk I needed. That simple kindness made all the difference. I went from near-panic to peaceful and ready, thanks to them and some versed. If you're nervous about surgery or unsure because of reviews, I hope this reassures you. The team I had today delivered exceptional care, professional and caring and I'm incredibly grateful. My ankle has been bothering me for awhile. Caring for my parents I never have time for myself so I really wanted to get my ankle checked out. I got online and was able to book an appointment for the next day with a real doctor. It was pretty easy to find and there was plenty of parking. The place was packed with patients. Check in was pretty easy I wouldn't recommend going early because I waited over an hour to be moved to another room. They were able to take x ray there and that was nice. I ended up waiting 1 hour 20 minutes before I saw the doctor. He said he wasn't a fan of long distance running and said to ice it and rest . $200 -Basically this place is good if you need to find out if something is broken or a doctor's excuse. While my first appointment was efficient, my second visit was highly disappointing. After waiting 65 minutes to be seen, the staff offered no apology or empathy, only stating that X-rays were delayed. It was frustrating to see them advertising for walk-ins when they couldn't manage scheduled appointments. I will not be returning and plan to use Mayo Clinic going forward. read more

My wife and I went to OrthoArizona, which is a large, physician-owned orthopedic group in the Phoenix Valley. She was injured in a car accident and was diagnosed with a partial tear of her meniscus and an ACL injury. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The practice has a modern decor, and they offer physical/hand therapy, pain management, athletic performance training, X-rays, MRIs, and durable medical equipment. In essence, OrthoArizona is a one-stop-shop for orthopedic needs in Arizona. I recommend them if you have any orthopedic needs. read more

If you want a chop-shop, this is the place! Worse Doctor (Megan Conti Mica) we've ever been too. It's evident, they are on a quota base structure and get you in (after an hour wait) and out (quickly as possible) all while Doctor quickly "assumes" what's wrong with you. Even though Doctor viewed x-rays, she was still Wrong with diagnosis, and was not interested in any questions we had. As a matter of fact, she was leaving while we were still asking a question! Ended up having wrist surgery with an excellent "private practice" surgeon. Will never return to this ghetto establishment. read more

Ortho Arizona is nothing more than a billing machine you will not see a doctor you might be seen by a nurse, you will not receive adequate care if you need a neurosurgeon with expertise. This facility is noting more than a huge cattle call an excuse to bill insurance companies fees for care not given other than an x ray or to just send you to another provider. It's a sham to bill. Do not waste your time going to Ortho Arizona the surgeons are booked months out in advance . Go to Barrow Neurological . The department of insurance should be investigating the billing practices and lack of patient care at Ortho Arizona this not only extends also to the specialty providers. read more

Dr. Jaffe has treated patients of all ages for anything that may bother them regarding their foot and ankle." I have a nerve issue in my foot and ankle. Jaffe walked in and before evaluation said it was from my back. He was wrong. I even went in a second time to have him recheck and the second appointment was even more derelict. I found a better more caring Doctor outside of ORTHO AZ who identified and treated the nerve foot problem. I've seen three orthos there and the pain doc. I would not recommend any Hip, foot/ankle, or pain doctors at this place. But the spine/back guy, Dr Khalsa is excellent read more

Two stars because the gentlemen at the front desk were nice and he sang good. I was told to be here 15 mins early which I did. I've now sat here for over an hour past my appointment time. First observation, they're pushing people through here like cattle. Money grab for sure. I can't figure out why a good doctor would want to be associated with this group otherwise. 1 star because it's required. These guys are here for the money and that's the nicest way to say it. They'll take your money, confirm you have an injury, tell you how painful that injury can be, then proceed to smile and tell you to deal with it. I broke my hand in 2022, they confirmed a break but said they wouldn't prescribe pain medication. I took another fall a few days ago, damaged ligaments in my ankle and broke my tailbone, went to them and guess what? No pain medicine. So yes, they have large beautiful offices with several drs and convenient scheduling but if you're actually looking for HELP when you go see a physician, please go anywhere else. This is the second time I have used Instant Ortho (sad for me) since January '24. A great walk-in ortho to go to when you have an ortho emergency and can't get an appt anyplace. I do not recommend at all. Unless you are VERY lucky and are lined up with a caring HCP that will take time to listen and understand your issues, you will be treated as a 'number', nothing more. We had a very poor experience and an egregious error was made on an expensive medication which caused us to simply walk away mid-treatment since they couldnt care less that the HCP made a mistake and we were left holding the bag (meaning we would have to pay hundreds of dollars for their mistake to complete the therapy). Ignored our phone calls, wouldnt return calls. I wish I could name the HCP but that would not be appropriate. Find a smaller, more patient centric practice instead of being 'moved through" this patient mill. read more

RUN!,, do not see. Dr. David Ott!!! Worse thing that ever happened to me! I'm still struggling after left hip replacement. Fractured femur , still struggling with weak muscles in thigh. Changed the whole trajectory of my career as a RN. It's been a struggle. He replaced my right hip with care. Not the left hip, his mood and whole disposition changed . I wish he would have just declined doing the surgery if he had that much dislike for me. And the way I was treated before surgery. Very rude and unkind. I arrived for my appointment on time (12:30 PM). An hour later, I still had not seen the PA. I informed the staff from the beginning of my appointment that I needed to leave by 2:00, as I had another appointment. The staff were unfazed by my request. Their answer was to reschedule, rather than apologize for making me wait for over one hour with no doctor in sight. By the looks of the place, their main clientele appears to be retired people who, I suppose, have the time to wait. In my opinion, the staff and doctors treat people as just another number and another dollar. They are extremely disrespectful of people's time and other commitments. If you want to waste a good chunk of your day and be treated like you don't matter, this is the place to be. read more

If you're going to expect patients to show up 15 minutes early and then make them wait 2 hrs before being seen then you should have the common decency to reschedule on your time instead of wasting ours. Zero support by the staff, non-existent bedside manners and don't get me started on competency. i'm shocked at all of the bad reviews because our experience for several years has been nothing but stellar. Both my husband and I have seen Dr. Martin for our knees as well as his PA Ryan. I had a complete knee replacement from Dr. Martin and it went perfectly. My is also had hand surgery done by Dr. . Again, I highly recommend both of those doctors for sure. To update the review below, the company refused my request to void the bill for the pre-surgery exam, since I had to cancel the surgery itself. I told them I would take them to small claims court, and further sue them for the costs I incurred because of the cancelled surgery. They acknowledged their wrongdoing, and capitulated with a settlement rather than going to court, as they knew they would lose. I wanted to make this known here, as I feel vindicated, and as before, want to warn people away from this greedy and incompetent company. They have an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau! AVOID THIS BUSINESS! Dr. Frankel and this company demanded a large prepayment for surgery less than 2 weeks before the scheduled surgery. I could not afford this prepayment and had to cancel the procedure, for which I had already scheduled a day off. They wanted prepayment for their own estimate of the deductible, not the actual value from the insurance company. This was unethical and deceptive, and they will be reported to the appropriate authorities. read more

As with many medical/dental providers, the Doctors aren't normally the problem. In my experience, it is receiving accurate and timely answers to questions from Medical Assistants, et al. On the 13th of Feb, I went in to see my upcoming Hip surgeon about a freak knee swelling matter. He was stumped but said he would write an order for an MRI and see me in a week. Well, I've received no information or call regarding the order (despite asking on my way out). I have called twice and was forced to leave voice messages: fine. The outgoing message says: "...I will return your call at my earliest convenience." Well, in my world, earliest convenience means before you go home at the end of the day. But, sadly, this world works differently. Tomorrow will mark a week since the Dr. said he wanted to see me back to review the MRI, and still no return call from his M.A. I'm not sure to whom M.A.s report (The doctor is too busy seeing patients), but this lack of communication and professionalism will drive me to a different practice group. read more

The patient is a minor and student athlete. Dr. To was very condescending at our last appt....our initial Follow up was with PA who didn't seem to notice (not well trained perhaps) continuing pain that .....later upon our insistence for MRI ....turned out to be something more serious. Dr seemed to be angry that WE caught it. Dr had Completely different and v. condescending attitude AFTER MRI results when he realized he had screwed up. At that point he added qualifiers to EVERYTHING....every single option for treatment was "not guaranteed" and he "wasn't sure". WOW. Thanks orthoaz. Early on I had called and asked for PT exercises to strengthen because of ongoing pain and was told he didn't need any. I have had a great experience with the care team from OrthoArizona. They have locations around the valley making it convenient for visits. The Scottsdale location offers the physical therapy sessions on sight. They also offer X-ray service on site. Making this one stop clinic my number one choice for pain management. read more

I checked in 15 min early for my initial appointment, was not told that the doctor was running late. Why is this so difficult to do? Best part zero apology from any staff for wait time. Tells you alot about how youre about to be "handled". Ended up being taken back 45 min after my scheduled time. Had xrays taken and was asked a series of questions by someone who half listened and wrote things down wrong. Doctor spent less than 7 min with me and diagnosed me with frozen shoulder despite my mentioning several times that I have dont have much stiffness past morning. Was prescribed medication with a warning label of possible serious cardiovascular event. This makes me doubt the doctor reviewed my records or family risk as my parents both have CAD. They see a woman and chalk it up to white coat anxiety. Recommeded physical therapy 2x per week and to come back in 6 weeks. Scheduling PT was a total pain and took forever, I made 1 appt per week because I don't have money for this twice a week. (Costs billed to insurance were outrageous). My first PT appointment I check in and there is no greeting other than I need you to sign the financial paperwork (which was completed online already) I was made to feel difficult when I mentioned this & felt like I had to apologize for being so and then she asked for immediate payment. Again, showing me there is no standard of care here, simply bill & collect as much as you can. I went to 2 sessions, and the bills came rolling in. Almost $1k billed to insurance & I am not confident in the diagnosis, PT excercises were so so. Reading the bill breakdown was laughable, $90ish to hold my arm for a few minutes. Will be starting over at the new year with another practice. Do yourself a favor and only see the physcians named here with postive ratings. Dr Nelson, hard pass. read more

On or about October 14, 2025, I was on my third visit to their Scottsdale facility. Upon arrival, I encountered a VERY RUDE front desk woman who later identified herself as Svetlana. When I arrived, I was asked for my I.D and insurance ID card. I explained to rude Svetlana that I gave them the information on my first visit and all I have was my ID, to wit; my Arizona driver's license. Well, she went on a tirade and refused to allow me to see the practitioner I was scheduled to see because I didn't have my insurance ID card. Mind you, there was a woman who came in later and was told that she could bring her ID on her next visit. The VERY RUDE, LYING Svetlana lied to her supervisor about what happened, even after I asked her to calm down, she continued to raise her voice at me. A person such as Svetlana should not be the person who works with patients, in my opinion. She was completely RUDE AND NASTY. Stay away from the scottsdale Pima Center location if you must go to OrthoArizona. The procedure done on didn't work anyway. read more

Read and believe the negative reviews! Today is the SECOND time OrthoArizona has wasted my time. Back in 2023 I met with a doctor (who is no longer with the practice) who had horrible bedside manner and was trying to rush me into a surgery I didn't understand and gave me no real answers or help. She barely looked me in the eye and was rude and condescending the whole appointment. Left as fast as I could and the office had the audacity to call me the next day to schedule this surgery. Uh no thank you. Found a competent and caring doctor somewhere else thankfully. I was convinced to give OrhtoArizona another try because I have some severe sciatic pain and was recommended to Dr. Lee. WEEKS ago, I made an appointment for this morning at 9:30am. They have had my referral and insurance information this whole time. 35 minutes prior to my appointment I get a phone call from an office staff member with close to zero diction skills whatsoever mumbling to me they "didn't" catch an issue with my insurance and that Dr. Lee only sees people with my particular insurance on Monday mornings at 8:30am ONLY and they cancelled my appointment! Are you kidding me right now? I could schedule with another person however that becomes a nightmare with my job I cannot make that time nor do I want to be shuffled around to different doctors. Since OrthoArizona has a cancellation policy, so do I! I will be sending a bill for cancelling my appointment with less than 24 hours' notice. These incompetent staff members should be held to the same standards as the patients. Never again with OrthoArizona. There are far better practices and doctors in the valley who won't waste your time and care about your healthcare. read more

Horrible experience. They are a huge money making assembly line medical group. Been seen for shoulder pain and was time for follow up. Having progressive knee pain and could barely walk. Called and asked if my appointment could also cover knee. Advised only 1 thing. Asked to have knee examined. Doctor walked in already with an attitude and said what's wrong with your knee and asked me to raise my knee straight out. Never touched or examined it. Said nerve pain. I asked if I needed a neurologist. Barked at me No!!! Never asked or looked at my shoulder. Saw another ortho somewhere else. He requested MRI STAT. Diagnosis both meniscus torn, cyst back of knee and sprained ligament in knee cap. Also when I got the diagnosis of frozen shoulder I was advised needed to start PT ASAP and Ortho Arizona has own PT facility and had no openings for 3 months. They called me a week later and asked why I was not doing PT. I said I am going somewhere else as you could not see me. Also, when I was leaving Ortho Arizona the 2nd visit they asked for my copay. I was so stunned by the way I had just been treated I thought should I tell them I don't want to pay or ask for a second opinion?? Now they have ads on TV how they are so wonderful and expanding. I am going to definitely file a complaint. Please don't go to any of their facilities. I rate them zero!!! read more

Unfortunately, I cannot speak to the quality of doctors because I spent the last 2 months just trying to get seen by a provider. Everytime I scheduled an appointment, I've receive a call within a few days of that scheduled appointment to have it rescheduled. It's happened 4 different times at 2 different locations. I was able to be seen at their walk-in clinic and get referred to get a MRI, but unfortunately my most recent appointment to follow up on the results on my MRI with a provider was canceled without my knowledge. Apparently someone tried to call me one time, was "unable" to leave a voicemail even though my voicemail is never anywhere near full, so they canceled my appointment without ever trying to call again, send a text or email to notify me not to waste my time coming to the appointment. It's ridiculous the amount of time, gas, & energy has been wasted just trying to get an initial appointment. After the latest incident, I'll be taking a disc with my MRI to another practice to follow up. read more

Although I have seen Dr. To (for successful surgery of bi-lateral radial tunnel compression) and Dr. Khalsa (who handled cervical spine care in belief it was what was related to my current shoulder and arm pain for over a year with no substantial findings to what was really causing the issues and not referring me to any other ortho surgeon but just PT), my main complaint here is for my visit with Dr. Nelson. I could sense Dr. Nelson's condensation from the time he reviewed an x-ray of my left shoulder (arm and shoulder pain is bilateral but my left shoulder was worse at the time). He said there were no findings, referred me to a rheumatologist for possible arthritis being the cause and sessions of PT. He did not offer cortisone injections, and he ignored my request for a shoulder MRI saying "it wouldn't show anything". He seemed very uninterested and almost like I was wasting his time. I attempted PT while I was awaiting my appt with Dr. Igoe (rheumatologist) at the far north OrthoArizona Scottsdale location. The first visit with (Jared?) was ok as it was more passive therapy and evaluation. The second session he pushed me to the point of great fatigue and pain with no letting up despite my comments. He commented that there will be burning/discomfort when exercising and disregarded me when I explained that this was not the same. I canceled all future appts with him and continued to seek answers before even thinking about going back to PT blindly. The Rhuematoligst ruled out RA or otherwise. SHE suggested an MRI of both my shoulders and that I get cortisone injections. The MRI results showed tendinosis in both arms, bursitis, marrow edema & a SLAP tear in my right shoulder. I made an appt with Dr. Enders (I was referred by a friend). He spent quality time with me explaining the findings and that I don't currently need surgery. (My appointment was yesterday.). He mentioned and gave me cortisone injections in both shoulders and scheduled me for PT with a referral to ATI. I felt heard and hopeful about the treatment plan. It was the first time I felt we are really getting somewhere. The two stars are for ease of scheduling & timeliness in being seen. I will not return. Dr. Khalsa spent a year plus focusing on my cervical spine, finding no correlation after ablations, MRI's, injections, ketamine infusions... And, my appt with Dr. Nelson was a waste of my time and money. Time to move on altogether. In addition, I will not miss the over-staffed front desk with inappropriate discussions, eating etc. Very unprofessional at times.
