Turkish milk cake
Akira L.

I absolutely love this place. This place is incredibly busy and seating is limited, however the wait is definitely worth it! The food is delicious, I ordered the plain doner and the Turkish milk cake for dessert and wow everything was incredible. The ambiance is very casual and not remotely anything upscale. It's very good for large parties and family get togethers.

Chicken shish

Excellent spot. Great food and value. Service is slow but worth it all. Had the plain beef Donair and chicken shish. Both come with salad and a giant bread. Some of the best Donair I've had. Will be back.

Craving some authentic Turkish food? This place justifies the word "authentic". I would definitely recommend everyone to try this place. Their serving quantity is generous and the taste is even better. I ordered a platter for 2, which was good enough for 3 people. I also got the beef shawarma and again that shawarma size was good for 2 people. Friendly staff. Great customer service. Great food.

Generous portion of Chicken shish

Stumbled upon this hidden gem by chance and so very glad that I did. Within a two week timeframe, dined in and did take out 7 times! At first glance, the interior looks like a cozy cafeteria. The place is always packed! I've gone at various hours of the day and have seen no tables available, with lineups out the door. Amazing to see the establishment thriving. Menu offers lots of options to choose from. My preferred order is the chicken shish, which comes with two skewers, a zesty salad, fresh baked bread and a bulgur-rice medley. Portion is plentiful for two people. Food is flavourful! Have also tried the trio dip; hummus, baba ghanouj and a tomato-walnut and pomegranate molasses mix. Plates are smaller (think appetizer for one) than other places. I'd love to try the family platter someday. In restaurant, food is served piping hot on a traditional copper tray. Their kebabs are nestled in bread that would need cutting open. It looks amazing! Staff are also very warm and welcoming. Their customer service is excellent. I told a family member about the place shortly after my first visit and the treatment received was top notch, despite dropping in to order take out. Still, they were served hot tea while waiting. Give this place a go. You won't be disappointed.

Baba Ganosh and Bread

Easy service at this time. Plenty of free tables. Good appetizer of Baba Ganosh. Also ordered Very Kebab and one beef doner. Doner is made with fresh bread and is excellent value.

Busy spot for Turkish food, even on a Thursday night! Good for groups as they had a lot of shareable portions like the pide ("Turkish pizza"), kabob plates! Although service was pleasant, there were many gaps. Water did not arrive to the table til midway thru meal, after reminder. There was also a missing corner of our pide and when we pointed it out to the server, he said it fell on the floor, so he threw it out. Weird that he just didn't mention it / thought that we wouldn't notice. Dining experience could've been better. Some tables are very close together, there's a box of Kleenex on the table in place of napkins, and water is served in disposable coffee cups - not great for environment. No knives/condiment is provided. No doubt that the pide is freshly made, but I literally tasted bread w/ melted cheese. At least with pizza there's the tomato sauce. So I'd be open to going back, BUT for the kabobs, not really for the pide esp as a main.

Must try the mix plate and pide. Fresh and delicious food with quality and flavor, generous portions. Servers are incredibly friendly. Currently my #1 Turkish spot at the moment.

The food was pretty good & not the usual mezes & kebabs but baked & stewed dishes too. Most of the kebabs had a nice charcoal taste. The main dishes were all labelled but not the items at the side. So the sour cream I added to my iskender turned out to be mayo.

Menu has a wide selection of dishes to choose from, including the authentic Turkish dishes. We ordered their mezze plate to try their different dips and I especially loved the caçik and ezme, though their hummus and baba ghanoush was also very good. The bread was made fresh. I also ordered my favourite appetizer, sigara boregi, which was really good. The lentil soup was thick and well made. The mix grill platter for 2 was huge and generous in portion, and I felt like more than 2 people can eat from it especially if you are ordering more items. The meat was well flavored, and the platter came with shish taouk, doner and more. The fries were crispy and well seasoned too. It was interesting to see that they had a chicken Ali nazik which I decided to try. For dessert, we got the trio which included cheesecake, kunafa and trilece. The trilece was my favourite.

Even amid a busy dinner rush, they were quick to greet us and seat our family without difficulty. That level of hospitality goes a long way, especially when you're traveling with hungry kids! I chose the Mixed Beef and Chicken Doner, and it hit all the right notes. The beef was wonderfully seasoned, with a subtle sear that provided depth to each bite, and the chicken was moist and soft. It was a big, satisfying supper served with fluffy rice, fresh salad, and warm bread that reminded me of meals I had in other countries. My wife and kids ordered the Chicken Adana Kebab, and they were equally impressed. The skewers were grilled to perfection, with just the proper amount of heat, and the serving sizes were large. Our server ensured that the spice level was appropriate for children while maintaining the flavor. We couldn't resist eating the Tres Leches dessert, and it was the ideal way to cap the lunch. It was moist, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet, making it one of the greatest we'd ever eaten, Turkish restaurant or not. Mama Fatma Turkish Cuisine has earned a spot on our go-to list for family dinners thanks to its outstanding service, delectable cuisine, and clean, pleasant ambiance. Highly recommended for those looking for genuine Turkish cuisine with a touch of warm friendliness!

It's like a sampler plate that includes a variety of their signature dishes, allowing you to sample a little bit of everything. Personally, I found the portion to be generous enough for 3-4 people, unless you have very good appetites or are prepared to take home leftovers. Their kebabs are bursting with flavor. They grill them with lamb oil or lamb fat to enhance the taste. The beef doner and chicken were tender, juicy, and well-marinated, while the lamb chops were perfectly cooked. The mini pides looked cute. As for drinks, I tried the Doğanay Şalgam. This salty turnip juice has a unique flavor profile; it was quite an interesting experience for me as I had never tried salty juices before. In fact, it's the kind of taste you might find yourself becoming obsessed with. Although the restaurant is located in an ordinary plaza, the interior is spacious and decorated in authentic Turkish style. The staff were friendly and patient, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. If you are seeking an authentic taste of Turkey I'd recommend this restaurant. I tried a variety of the meats and they were cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and well balanced with just the right spices and sauces. Nothing was dry, which made every bite enjoyable. They also offer traditional desserts like Om Ali, knefe, and rice pudding. If you want a more relaxed café vibe afterward, there's a café in the same parking lot run by the same owners with very comfortable seating and even a prayer room. I remember looking over and thinking, "What is this place that's so full of life?" It was bustling with people and had such a great energy. I had never tried Egyptian food before, but I was feeling a little adventurous. I'm really glad I did. A few dishes were recommended, but I was told the Koshari is beloved in Egypt, so that's what I ordered. Be prepared for a bit of a carb coma, but it's absolutely worth it. It was delicious. The mix of pasta, rice, lentils, chickpeas, and crispy fried onions worked surprisingly well together, especially with the sauces they give you. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Toronto.
