Decided to come here after a friend has recommended it to me. I expected the prices to be a bit more compared to other places as Turkish restaurants in the GTA tend to be expensive. For around 31 bucks (after tax) for 1 plate, it was just average. There was nothing special about the taste or flavors of the food and though the food was OK, it wasn't something I'd personally come back for. We got a basket of fresh bread and 3 small dips/appetizers complimentary with our meal. There was a lot of seating inside and I noticed they had an area for live music (I'm guessing they sometimes have it at night?). Portion is good for one person.

Amazing food! Went for my birthday and we got the platter for $170. So much variety and everything on it was seasoned to perfection. The beef pasta was also amazing! Tasted like tiny little dumplings in a seasoned yogurt sauce. Would definitely be back!

Mangal Kebab House located along Warden Ave near Metropolitan Rd (near Hwy 401) serves up tasty Turkish food which is also Halal. The restaurant is somewhat hidden inside a plaza where it's easy to miss if you are driving quickly by. The restaurant looks deceivingly small from the outside but when you enter there are many tables for big groups as well as a small patio. It is also fully accessible where there is plenty of parking as well. Menu wise, Mangal Kebab House serves up many cold appetizers, soups, salads, doner, wraps, grilled meats (including platters to share), pan dishes, pides, pasta dishes, as well as desserts. They also have a small kids menu as well. Although they are halal, the restaurant also serves alcohol. They also do have a selection of non-alcoholic beverages as well. For the meats, there is only beef, lamb, or chicken available (no pork). During the weekend mornings they also do breakfast. I was recommended to check out Mangal Kebab House from a coworker and decided to head there with friends on a Friday night. Reservations are available and recommended as the place does get busy. I made reservations online which was pretty easy and straightforward. My friends and I had a great time at Mangal Kebab House! We were given free bread and 3 small dips as soon as we sat down. At the end of the meal we were also given teas as well. Service was great and our waitress answered any questions we had regarding the menu. We also never felt rushed to leave as we were chatting and catching up as well. During our time there the place got busier as the night went on, there were even people coming in at 9pm with their families for a meal! What was also great was that the night we went (Friday) there was also live music (not sure if this is every night or only on specific nights). There were many people celebrating their birthdays (around 4-5 people) that night and the musician would sing happy birthday to the whole restaurant. Food wise, my friends and I all got different dishes from the grill section of the menu. I got the tavuk adana (spicy ground chicken mixed with lamb and beef fat, grilled on skewers, served with bulgur, roasted tomato, roasted pepper, red cabbage and onion salad), which was $28. Food arrived at a reasonable time and the portions were pretty big. I couldn't finish my food and ended up bringing the leftovers home. In terms of my grilled ground chicken skewer, it was so juicy and tasty. All the other components of the plate also worked harmoniously with the chicken and I enjoyed my dish very much. My friends also commented that their dishes were also extremely flavourful, tender, and juicy. Everything was delicious and we all agreed that these were some of the best kebabs that we've ever tasted in the city! Wish we had room for desserts since that display of desserts looked mighty tempting. Overall, one of the best places for kebabs in the Scarborough area. As I write this review I'm still thinking of the delicious food that I had consumed. Very tasty and delicious Turkish food paired along with great service! Can't wait to return to try more dishes in the future.

Came here with a group and had a really good experience. The platters are huge and come with a great mix of different meats, which makes it perfect for sharing. We ordered the Karisik Izgara for 4, along with two orders of flatbread and bread, and it easily filled nine of us up. I can confidently say the meat platter for four is definitely more than enough for four people. Everything was cooked well and full of flavor, and there were plenty of sauces to try so every bite felt different. The restaurant itself is very spacious with a large indoor dining area and a covered patio, which is great when you're coming with a big group. Service was quick and consistent, with food coming out steadily and staff checking in on us. If you like Turkish meats, this place is absolutely worth checking out. It's great value, especially when dining with a group. Would happily come back

Came for Father's Day and was able to get a table without a reservation. Service was efficient and they provided dips and bread. We tried the liver which tasted decent and the beef with eggplant was good and the grill platter for 2 was more than sufficient for 4 people for lunch. The flavours were all very good.

What a mission to get here without a car from downtown Toronto but my friends got me! We left restaurant choices up to a good friend of ours who has had Mangal on their radar for some time. I ended up being the first person to get here and checked if our reservation was good. They got me to our table in no time, got me a menu, a water and had a nice chat with their staff. I had eyed up a bunch of items but waited on friends to arrive before ordering. Out of nowhere live music starts! It was nice, it's been awhile since I've been in a restaurant with live music that I wasn't expecting. My friends arrived and we placed our orders in. I've been having a lot of kebabs recently and they've steadily gotten really good across the board across Ontario the last few years! The floor is good at a lot of places. It was no different here. Our food came up in pretty good time. I really enjoyed my chicken kebabs. Well seasoned, not overcooked and great taste from their grill. The large platter my friends got looked excellent as well. They let me try a few items and I have to say, quality there as well. I didn't opt for dessert but did get a tea. Would come back in the future

Truly obsessed with Mangal. This was my second visit. The first time we ordered the platter for two, and this time the platter for four, and both were incredibly generous. We left with two full take-out boxes each time. The food was delicious and perfectly seasoned, and even my 3-year-old enjoyed it. Loved the atmosphere, the cute photo wall, and the great service.

I brought my friend here for her birthday and the restaurant left a great first impression!! It's right by the highway and a 10 min drive from Fairview mall, making it a convenient location. It was bustling with chatter, quick moving waiters holding long trays of food, and music when we arrived at 7:30pm but there was no wait before we got seated! We ordered the atrikot (ribeye) and Tavuk sis (chicken skewer) and the serving was generous and tasted delectable. Both meats were well seasoned and juicy. We received complimentary bread with dips, dates, and after meal tea as well. We each paid about $40 after tax and 15% tips. Can't wait to go back for my next outing!

Overall, some really great Turkish food! It's quite expensive though, but nice to have once in a while. Ambiance: 5/5 - really cool, cultural vibe. Seats were really comfortable and the decor was nice. Love that it's a "grill" house. Service: 5/5 - very friendly waiters, all prompt and helpful. Food: 4/5 overall the platter for 2 was delicious. I'm not a fan of lamb, so I didn't like that, but I'm sure someone who did would. The chicken kofta (4/5) and beef kofta (4/5) were my favourites, as well as the chicken breast kebabs (4.5/5). Very juicy and flavourful. Tres leches cake was good as well! Overall, I really liked the food and restaurant, only gave it a star off because it was quite pricey, but still flavourful!

Food tasted good and portion size was reasonable. Service was also good. Tables were spacious, great spot to go if you have large parties.

This place was recommended by my mom so we decided to go today, word of caution please make reservation or you will be waiting in line for a long time. The ambiance was quite spacious, the only thing I didn't like was the service was lacklustre I don't blame them they were fully packed and probably overwhelmed, like I had to ask them a lot to refill my water glass but over time I'm sure these will improve, I also tried their sour cherry juice which I had in turkey, love it. We had complementary plate to start just pt note they will only give one if you want more you have to pay, there was tzatziki pita bread with three different sauces very delicious, place was quite pricey, so we ordered the platter for two which is big enough for two people, I liked the food here more than Istanbul which I found bland, there was lamb beef and chicken the meat was cooked to perfection with rice absolutely delicious, the rice was really flavourful as well, and we also ordered Istanbul signature dish which is iskender kabob that was so good and meat was tender. The lamb chops were off the chain so tender, really good spice, I can definitely come back and I am for sure convinced this place will do very well.

Didn't even know this place existed in an old plaza in Scarborough. Very spacious and welcoming . The attention to detail in terms of filling out water and check in was pretty much non existent unless you flag them down. The kunefe dessert I was looking forward to was burnt which was quite disappointing and didn't actually have the cheese in it. The main dish was not bad but the price point was kind of expensive for what you get (2 piece of meat, seasoned rice, and veggies with a few pieces of bread)

Service was friendly and welcoming, where we were given ample time to look at the menu and ask any questions regarding the menu (if we had any). I decided to order the NK grill (a mix of tandoori chicken, shami (beef) kabob, and classic chicken). Each grill meal comes with a salad, rice, and naan. We also got a container of creamy garlic kabob dip to go with our meals. Our food took around 10-15 min to be made and were brought to our table once ready. The naan bread the meal came with was also warm and delicious. My NK grill meal was delicious! The Afghani rice was flavourful and savoury, a perfect carb to go with the grilled kabobs. The tandoori chicken had a slight kick but was tolerable for me. All the meats, especially the chicken was tender and not dry at all. The side salad was also refreshing as well. Overall, a delicious meal - definitely would return to get the NK grill again. I wasn't able to finish everything and also had leftovers to bring home. Overall, a comfortable and casual space to enjoy some delicious Afghan food! Great service as well. Will definitely return to Naan Kabob in the future!

Anto - who manages, serves, and cooks - is a powerhouse of a chef. We got the Anto selection, a large plate of varied skewers which comes with hummus, garlic paste, salad, rice, Middle Eastern pickles, and a tomato based flatbread to scoop it all into. Easily enough for 4 people. It only takes a bite of the sliced cucumber pickle to know you're in excellent hands. Everything Anto puts on his tables are the highest quality, best prepared, most lovingly made versions of what they are. The skewers are succulent, all grilled to perfection so that you can taste what makes each one uniquely delicious while making it hard to choose a favourite. The rice is powerfully flavourful. The garlic paste is light and fluffy with a deep garlic flavour that makes everything it touches pop. The hummus is smooth, without losing any of the freshness of the chickpeas. And the bread - with it's tomato spread and parsley - is the perfect bow to bind it all together, a thin carb with just the right note of acidity to keep you eating until the massive amount of food you thought you could never fish is all gone. Anto himself is loving, generous, and passionate. He's a good soul with an unbeatable talent, and I look forward to enjoying more of his food and company. I wasn't wise enough to take a picture before I ate, but let the empty plates in the picture tell their own story. Come here. Thank you, Anto, for sharing your exquisite food with us.

From the decor on the walls to the high quality tiles there was some legit funding put into this small place. Walking in we were greeted by Anto, who was sitting by himself browsing channels on his television. He quickly sat us down and went over the menu with us, which has no descriptions or pictures. We picked the chicken dishes and ordered some coffee, which turned out to be authentic Turkish style served in beautiful cups and saucers. Packs a punch, too. Anto explained he has two restaurants back home in Armenia and he's also an actor and singer. He reminded me of Peter Stormare from Prison Break. Anyway, he explains how he prepares everything so it pleases the eyes, nose, and tastebuds and he wasn't kidding. The dish was beautiful. From the arrangement to the small details in the food itself (I could eat the roasted jalapeño on its own and be satisfied). Each aspect of the dish was special on its own so eating each part of it was like having several culinary journeys. Anto was also kind enough to give us complimentary hummus and babaganoush. Both were amazing in their presentation and subtle but on point flavour profiles. I wanted to try the tabouli but unfortunately he was out of parsley and it would be a 45 minute wait for the delivery. I will be going back just to try it, to be honest. The meal was so good we ended up ordering two different dishes to go to share with family. The beef cube dish is prepared to perfection and I'd recommend that if you're not into chicken. Everything he prepares is done with fresh ingredients, years of experience, and careful consideration. I absolutely can not recommend this restaurant enough.

The skewers were absolutely mesmerizing. None of that strong lamb smell you'd find at many other places, just a clean, fragrant flavor with a softer finish. Perfectly grilled too. It was my first time trying kidney skewers, and the texture really surprised me--chewy, meaty, but not heavy at all, and with no trace of that distinct lamb scent. The Uyghur Chicken was another highlight. Well-seasoned, rich in flavor but not overly spicy, and the chicken was tender through and through. Having it with their hand-pulled noodles made the whole experience even better. The sauce was so good I kept dipping the bread into it nonstop. Honestly, this place hits all the right notes. Great flavors, comforting atmosphere, and real craftsmanship in every dish. Definitely coming back soon.

We were all provided with complimentary bread and tea, and ordered the mix kebab platter for two, and the authentic Turkish village breakfast platter for two. The menu options only offer a 2 and 4 person platter, but our server told us they could make one geared for 3 people so we decided to go with that. It came with a salad and fresh bread to share. The meats were tender and juicy. Everything was really flavourful. I enjoyed the food. The server was also really helpful with answering any questions we had. But the bill came and I was shocked. It came out to $59.99 per person after tax and tip to split the platter 3 ways. Quality was pretty decent but the portioning of it does not justify the price. Next time if I were to return, I'd probably just get my own dish... the platters present that "wow" favour but they're pricey. I get that there's quite a bit of protein but there are other things I'd rather get for that hefty price tag. I don't think it would be fair to leave a lower rating solely due to the value aspect because the food was yummy and all other factors such as environment and service were satisfactory... but for me the value weighs heavy in my priorities and I feel the cost of the platter is too high, as good as it is.
