Decided to come here after a friend has recommended it to me. I expected the prices to be a bit more compared to other places as Turkish restaurants in the GTA tend to be expensive. For around 31 bucks (after tax) for 1 plate, it was just average. There was nothing special about the taste or flavors of the food and though the food was OK, it wasn't something I'd personally come back for. We got a basket of fresh bread and 3 small dips/appetizers complimentary with our meal. There was a lot of seating inside and I noticed they had an area for live music (I'm guessing they sometimes have it at night?). Portion is good for one person.

Amazing food! Went for my birthday and we got the platter for $170. So much variety and everything on it was seasoned to perfection. The beef pasta was also amazing! Tasted like tiny little dumplings in a seasoned yogurt sauce. Would definitely be back!

Mangal Kebab House located along Warden Ave near Metropolitan Rd (near Hwy 401) serves up tasty Turkish food which is also Halal. The restaurant is somewhat hidden inside a plaza where it's easy to miss if you are driving quickly by. The restaurant looks deceivingly small from the outside but when you enter there are many tables for big groups as well as a small patio. It is also fully accessible where there is plenty of parking as well. Menu wise, Mangal Kebab House serves up many cold appetizers, soups, salads, doner, wraps, grilled meats (including platters to share), pan dishes, pides, pasta dishes, as well as desserts. They also have a small kids menu as well. Although they are halal, the restaurant also serves alcohol. They also do have a selection of non-alcoholic beverages as well. For the meats, there is only beef, lamb, or chicken available (no pork). During the weekend mornings they also do breakfast. I was recommended to check out Mangal Kebab House from a coworker and decided to head there with friends on a Friday night. Reservations are available and recommended as the place does get busy. I made reservations online which was pretty easy and straightforward. My friends and I had a great time at Mangal Kebab House! We were given free bread and 3 small dips as soon as we sat down. At the end of the meal we were also given teas as well. Service was great and our waitress answered any questions we had regarding the menu. We also never felt rushed to leave as we were chatting and catching up as well. During our time there the place got busier as the night went on, there were even people coming in at 9pm with their families for a meal! What was also great was that the night we went (Friday) there was also live music (not sure if this is every night or only on specific nights). There were many people celebrating their birthdays (around 4-5 people) that night and the musician would sing happy birthday to the whole restaurant. Food wise, my friends and I all got different dishes from the grill section of the menu. I got the tavuk adana (spicy ground chicken mixed with lamb and beef fat, grilled on skewers, served with bulgur, roasted tomato, roasted pepper, red cabbage and onion salad), which was $28. Food arrived at a reasonable time and the portions were pretty big. I couldn't finish my food and ended up bringing the leftovers home. In terms of my grilled ground chicken skewer, it was so juicy and tasty. All the other components of the plate also worked harmoniously with the chicken and I enjoyed my dish very much. My friends also commented that their dishes were also extremely flavourful, tender, and juicy. Everything was delicious and we all agreed that these were some of the best kebabs that we've ever tasted in the city! Wish we had room for desserts since that display of desserts looked mighty tempting. Overall, one of the best places for kebabs in the Scarborough area. As I write this review I'm still thinking of the delicious food that I had consumed. Very tasty and delicious Turkish food paired along with great service! Can't wait to return to try more dishes in the future.

Came here with a group and had a really good experience. The platters are huge and come with a great mix of different meats, which makes it perfect for sharing. We ordered the Karisik Izgara for 4, along with two orders of flatbread and bread, and it easily filled nine of us up. I can confidently say the meat platter for four is definitely more than enough for four people. Everything was cooked well and full of flavor, and there were plenty of sauces to try so every bite felt different. The restaurant itself is very spacious with a large indoor dining area and a covered patio, which is great when you're coming with a big group. Service was quick and consistent, with food coming out steadily and staff checking in on us. If you like Turkish meats, this place is absolutely worth checking out. It's great value, especially when dining with a group. Would happily come back

Came for Father's Day and was able to get a table without a reservation. Service was efficient and they provided dips and bread. We tried the liver which tasted decent and the beef with eggplant was good and the grill platter for 2 was more than sufficient for 4 people for lunch. The flavours were all very good.

What a mission to get here without a car from downtown Toronto but my friends got me! We left restaurant choices up to a good friend of ours who has had Mangal on their radar for some time. I ended up being the first person to get here and checked if our reservation was good. They got me to our table in no time, got me a menu, a water and had a nice chat with their staff. I had eyed up a bunch of items but waited on friends to arrive before ordering. Out of nowhere live music starts! It was nice, it's been awhile since I've been in a restaurant with live music that I wasn't expecting. My friends arrived and we placed our orders in. I've been having a lot of kebabs recently and they've steadily gotten really good across the board across Ontario the last few years! The floor is good at a lot of places. It was no different here. Our food came up in pretty good time. I really enjoyed my chicken kebabs. Well seasoned, not overcooked and great taste from their grill. The large platter my friends got looked excellent as well. They let me try a few items and I have to say, quality there as well. I didn't opt for dessert but did get a tea. Would come back in the future

Truly obsessed with Mangal. This was my second visit. The first time we ordered the platter for two, and this time the platter for four, and both were incredibly generous. We left with two full take-out boxes each time. The food was delicious and perfectly seasoned, and even my 3-year-old enjoyed it. Loved the atmosphere, the cute photo wall, and the great service.

I brought my friend here for her birthday and the restaurant left a great first impression!! It's right by the highway and a 10 min drive from Fairview mall, making it a convenient location. It was bustling with chatter, quick moving waiters holding long trays of food, and music when we arrived at 7:30pm but there was no wait before we got seated! We ordered the atrikot (ribeye) and Tavuk sis (chicken skewer) and the serving was generous and tasted delectable. Both meats were well seasoned and juicy. We received complimentary bread with dips, dates, and after meal tea as well. We each paid about $40 after tax and 15% tips. Can't wait to go back for my next outing!

Overall, some really great Turkish food! It's quite expensive though, but nice to have once in a while. Ambiance: 5/5 - really cool, cultural vibe. Seats were really comfortable and the decor was nice. Love that it's a "grill" house. Service: 5/5 - very friendly waiters, all prompt and helpful. Food: 4/5 overall the platter for 2 was delicious. I'm not a fan of lamb, so I didn't like that, but I'm sure someone who did would. The chicken kofta (4/5) and beef kofta (4/5) were my favourites, as well as the chicken breast kebabs (4.5/5). Very juicy and flavourful. Tres leches cake was good as well! Overall, I really liked the food and restaurant, only gave it a star off because it was quite pricey, but still flavourful!

Food tasted good and portion size was reasonable. Service was also good. Tables were spacious, great spot to go if you have large parties.

This place was recommended by my mom so we decided to go today, word of caution please make reservation or you will be waiting in line for a long time. The ambiance was quite spacious, the only thing I didn't like was the service was lacklustre I don't blame them they were fully packed and probably overwhelmed, like I had to ask them a lot to refill my water glass but over time I'm sure these will improve, I also tried their sour cherry juice which I had in turkey, love it. We had complementary plate to start just pt note they will only give one if you want more you have to pay, there was tzatziki pita bread with three different sauces very delicious, place was quite pricey, so we ordered the platter for two which is big enough for two people, I liked the food here more than Istanbul which I found bland, there was lamb beef and chicken the meat was cooked to perfection with rice absolutely delicious, the rice was really flavourful as well, and we also ordered Istanbul signature dish which is iskender kabob that was so good and meat was tender. The lamb chops were off the chain so tender, really good spice, I can definitely come back and I am for sure convinced this place will do very well.

Didn't even know this place existed in an old plaza in Scarborough. Very spacious and welcoming . The attention to detail in terms of filling out water and check in was pretty much non existent unless you flag them down. The kunefe dessert I was looking forward to was burnt which was quite disappointing and didn't actually have the cheese in it. The main dish was not bad but the price point was kind of expensive for what you get (2 piece of meat, seasoned rice, and veggies with a few pieces of bread)

I ordered the blackberry peach lemonade, and I would honestly go back just for that. It was sweet, refreshing, and just the right amount of ice. If you ever need any convincing to get a savoury breakfast, the cilbir and spicy potatoes are not only extremely filling, but it's a good amount of diverse textures and flavours, and it's not as heavy as a classic american breakfast/ brunch. The veggies and the yogurt balance out the oily parts of the dish, and the pita lets you scoop up any of the remaining sauce on the plate. Definitely a 10/10 breakfast, I just wish the indoor seating wasn't so cramped. Lovely food, nice servers and good service. Eggstatic will be seeing me soon !!

However me and my partner had a craving for some breakfast food so decided to give this a shot. The short story is that this is a nice little breakfast place with solid food and great service. I ordered a classic breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, toast and home fries while my partner ordered the pancakes. My breakfast was solid. It wasn't anything mind blowing but everything tasted as it should and overall I really enjoyed it. My partner's pancakes were really good though. Sadly there was no chair for her to sit down on yet it didn't stop her from going to her regular spot for a Sunday brunch. She told me that she has been coming here for many years, even before it was called Sammy's. Has it been 30 years, she asked herself? Either way, she made it known that she is quite the regular. Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food. While the food was pretty good, and the other server was very friendly, attentive and nice, I think they were short staffed that day and nothing is ever as instant as fast food. My advice would be to go here when you have the time to wait. Don't come here if you are in a rush. It's better to only come here when you have lots of time to wait.
