No charges for water whenever I needed some. It was spotless and everything I could hope for in a top tier hotel. Next week I stayed in Double Tree Hilton Moda in Kadikoy Istanbul. I went to the counter to ask for water and they sent me to bar where I had to pay for it. The rooms are very small and the A/C no matter where I set the temperature will not go below 22.5c. I like a colder room to sleep. I went to the counter to ask for a fingernail file and they said I have to find a pharmacy. Marriott included a kit in the room. The bathtub shower is stained brown and the bathroom door is delaminating at the bottom from water damage. They also do not provide wash cloths to wash with. Only large towels. Overall I am very disappointed with DT Hilton, especially when they charge more than JW Marriott in Ankara. I will not be back.

If you are planning to get your room with access to the executive lounge, it's not worth it. Very few selections, almost always nobody there. Stick with just the breakfast. Room is spacious, well appointed and beautiful views! But there's a certain smell with the bed or the beddings but otherwise very clean!

In fact, I kind of find it a little bit overwhelming and truthfully quite gaudy. In fact, when I booked the hotel and showed the hotel's webpage to my interior-design friend, he suddenly aged by 5 years from crinkling his forehead. Looks like the Turkish idea of tasteful design is quite different from its Northern European counterparts. (Actually, this opulence reminded me of over-stylized hotels in Dubai or Abu-Dhabi.) Nevertheless, the amenities and the service here at the hotel were on par with my expectations. In fact, when I walked in to the hotel, I received the warmest welcome from the folks at the front desk. The hotel also features a well-equipped gym with all the machines that you can think of. It also has a decent-sized pool. Suggestion: skip the breakfast, especially when it's not included in your rate. It's nothing to write home about. Flip up the Yelp App instead and go find a nice breakfast place in nearby Karaköy or on Bagdad Street.

Upon investigation, the front desk man said that the stains were on the runner and not on the actual sheets. As a customer, this was even more concerning if you consider that they're putting something dirty onto something clean. Safe to assume that nothing is clean at all. My fiancé almost immediately had allergic reactions due to the must/mold in the air. 4 stars my butt. Do yourself a favor, spend $20 more and stay at a different hotel. We did, however, get our money back after a lengthy argument.

Our family did an American Wedding and a traditional Turkish Wedding. My family and family friends wanted to adventure out in Istanbul so my brother in law recommended Sidonya Hotel. Sidonya is right by the ferry of Kadikoy and Karakoy. My family and family friends stayed at Sidonya Hotel. First of all, it was difficult going out Istanbul with just us Americans. The staff from Sidonya Hotel made us feel at home and comfortable. The hotel is clean and quiet. The room is a bit small which is fine because my family and family friends did not stay inside until it was time to just rest and go to sleep. The breakfast was included which was awesome. There was amazing breakfast options with an amazing view. My brother in law who was born and raised in Istanbul was actually impressed with how honest and kind the staff at the hotel were. We appreciated the hospitality of the staff members. It was easy to communicate even with the language barriers. The staff was kind and had smiles. My family all agreed this was the place we would stay at once we come back! I hope this post was helpful.
