Surprisingly good for western Kansas! I would recommend if you are passing through Garden City!

I understand now why the reviews say the menu is difficult to understand. NOODLES COME WITH EVERYTHING. The difference between the Hibachi and Samurai bowls are rice NOODLES and udon NOODLES. Plus rice, fried or white. If you are like me and just want meat and vegetables and rice, you have to make sure to tell them no noodles. The sauce also does not come on the side, it comes on top of your noodles. So if you have ordered four different sauces, good luck. The chicken teriyaki dumplings were pretty tasty, and the food itself was okay. But it was a lot of carbs. My friend was not very impressed. She felt that the whole meal lacked cohesion. I felt that the restaurant needed to hire me to rewrite the menu in a cohesive manner. There were just random words all over the place! And white words on a black menu is just something that should never be done. *Editing this review to add that my stomach hurt that night and all the next day. Let start off with the service we were greeted upon walking in!! While i looked over to my left which would be the kitchen i see a cook hands deep in the noodles putting it on the grill to cook!! Ok so maybe he had gloves on I'm not sure but he definitely had his hands deep in the noodles container!!! Yikes!! So we sit down order food and appetizers come out fairly quick but we're missing one of them that comes out towards the end of our sitting even after we mentioned we didn't want them after all during the middle of our meal the server took it upon herself to bring them anyways! We all ordered a different plate but they all looked the same for whatever reason! So at this point just put rice noodles chicken and steak on the menu! Because again we all ordered something different but got the same thing on our plates! Now we ordered sushi!!! Idk what was going on with the sushi but it was like the sushi was made with mushed rice!! Not to mention the kitchen staff eating over the prep area after prepping someone's food!!! Now it's time for check out! Before we ordered we mentioned it would be a separate bill so 3 different tabs! No problem was stated!! When it's time to check out the server ask again who's on what tab we go to check out and now I'm stuck with paying for 3 extra items because the server failed to separate the checks properly! No apology just a look of confusion! Not a good experience the food I'll give it a mid 4/10 would i recommend this place to others absolutely not! Zero stars should be an option for places like this. They went out of their way to ignore us and treat us like we were a nuisance. Food was mid at best but the service was definitely worst in town. Highly recommend going anywhere else. read more

We had four different plates. We returned one, and left the other three almost full. The menu was hard to understand, we asked the waitress and she couldn't even answer what type of broth they used on their ramen. The ramen was covered in bell peppers and sadly, they overpowered the taste of the ramen. The boiled eggs were overdone, thought it was impossible. The steak was very low quality. The spring rolls are plain and bland. Just skip this place. read more

Itokos is the bomb. Upbeat, chill vibes with great Mexican/Japanese fusion! All the food was bomb except the tuna roll. Please specify that the tuna roll is made from Canned tuna salad! . The rest of the sushi along with the rest of the food was the bomb! read more

We had the teriyaki bowl both steak and chicken we'd give it a 2.5 wasn't the best but still good. The Dr Pepper we got was flat both times. I got the crab ragoons as well those were amazing The service was good. Quick and nice. Ambiance was 10/10 looked clean loved the decore and the music *chefs kiss* music was fantastic. read more

The menu change was a big mistake. You used to be able to choose what vegetables you wanted. I have only eaten there once since the changes and the vegetable combos were terrible. I hate onions and they won't substitute. I used to really like this place but I won't eat there again. read more

ordered online got the notice my food was ready so i drove there. I was the only car in the drive thru but I was ignored for at least 5 minutes. The attendent walked by the window several times. I figured maybe he didnt see me so I honked & was greeted with a cold "next time don't honk" as the window was closed. read more

I really want to like this place. The aesthetic is nice, the concept is cool, the food is fresh, but there is no flavor. We went here over the weekend and my husband tried to order the teriyaki bowl but they had no teriyaki. Then he tried to order the sesame sauce, and they were also out. So he settled for the hibachi bowl with butter garlic sauce, beef and veggies. There was zero seasoning, salt, soy. Nothing. He asked for soy sauce and was giving 3 packets and it still didn't help. I ordered chicken pad Thai and it was equally bland. When I say bland, I mean the whole dish tasted like nothing. If it weren't for the textures, I couldn't even distinguish the different vegetables. We ordered two diet cokes and they had about 3 cubes of ice and the rest was flat like-warm Diet Coke. I requested a glass of ice and received a half-cup of ice. My husband asked for some ice water and got a cup of water with maybe 4 cubes of ice. The waitress just didn't understand the assignment. Like I said before, I really want to love this place, but I doubt I'll be back. Also, it was visibly less busy than the first time we ate there, so I'm guessing most customers are beginning to feel the same as us. Excellent food!! I would choose Itokos before most restaurants in Garden City. It is great food!! Try it!!
