If you live nearby, this gym is a good alternative. However, the selection of machines is not for…read moreeveryone - if you're all about lifting weights, you'll have to look for a other gym.
The gym is one small room, and the locker room (that's a misleading word to use because there are no lockers in there) is incredibly tiny. Now, the local community is rather small so I don't expect this place to be cramped any time of the day - but seriously, more than two people in the dressing room and you'd be touching shoulders!
Everything from gym equipment to showers and the toilet is very tidy and nice.
There are way too many cardio machines in be gym. Cardio you can do everywhere - it doesn't require any equipment but clothes and running shoes - it doesn't make sense to have half the gym be cardio machines. There are four treadmills, for cross trainers, three spinning machines, and one rowing machine.
Still, they've managed to cram in a set of seven machines in the limited space: Leg extension/curl, crunch, low row, pull-down, dip w. support, chest press.
There are dumbbells between 1-10 kilos in increments of 1, and 10-38 kilos in increments of 2.
There's a Z barbell and small barbell for military press, but no preacher bench or bench press rack. They claim the lack of bench press is a safety issue (the gym is unmanned) but all Fitness 24/7 gyms are also unmanned and they all have bench press. Lastly, there are not many weights to load on the barbells.
There's a single cable machine with all handles you could wish for, but I would have wanted a double one.
In a very small area for stretching/yoga there are a few kettle bells (4-24 kilos in increments of 4), two different size yoga balls, five medicine balls (1-5 kilos), two balance boards, an ab roller, a foam roller and push up handles. A great set of equipment, but if there's one or two people on the carpet, you won't fit.
The biggest drawback beside the lack of a bench press rack, is that there is no squat rack - just a smith machine (straight). Like with the barbells, there aren't many weights to put on it: You'll have to use all the weights available to get over 100 kilos so even if I'd want to use a smith machine for dead lifts I can't get to effective weight.
Bench press and squat racks are the foundation of gym equipment, and the exercises you do on that equipment are the foundation of gym exercises. But this gym has no ambition to appeal to that kind of customer. They want to appeal to the ones who shy away from barbell free weights and outdoor running.
