His mom ended up getting him a gift certificate for Christmas to go towards the purchase the boots of his choice. The gift certificate was for $100 and being a teenager he misplaced it. They went there yesterday to make a purchase and told them what happened with the gift certificate. She had proof of when it was purchased, but they said they would not honor it and told her good luck on finding it. It's super upsetting that they issue hand written gift certificates, but apparently don't have good record keeping to know that it hasn't been used. My grandson now has a $100 gift that he can't use. He's super disappointed and normally doesn't misplace things. He realizes that he should have been more careful, but the fact that they are local and can clearly see he hasn't used it is so upsetting. We loved this store, but will never buy there or recommend them again.
