We've only been in the home two years, but judging by the condition of the grout when we purchased it, I have to believe the previous owners had never had the grout cleaned. It was BAD. We tried several DIY methods with mixed results, but with 2,700-sq. ft. of house -- most of it tiled -- the job was just too big to do ourselves. For the last few years, I have been trying different DYI ways to clean the grout on my bathroom, as well as the tiles throughout the whole house. I doubt there was a product on the store shelves that I didn't try. Plus, cleaning and sealing the whole house was painful on the back and knees. My husband and I decided we needed professional help.
