I never had an issue with him or his services until last tax year (2021). I had lost my job that I had been at for 6 1/2 years and emailed him to ask if he could work with me on pricing for tax preparation because of that. I got a call from his office soon after I sent my email but my phone only rang once. No one left a message and no one ever emailed me to reply or follow up. So, my gut feeling told me that he was acting funny style towards me now just because I asked him if he could work with me. I ended up having to get someone else to do my taxes for 2021. Fast forward to now, which is tax year 2022. I emailed him last Fri 3/10 and asked him if he had time to do my taxes and it is now Monday, 3/13 and still have not gotten a reply. As someone who gave him business for 5+ years, I would expect Randy to have some decency and at least reply and tell me that he is unable to do that instead of just ignoring me. That type of behavior is unprofessional and something I never expected from him being that I was a long time client of his. If he would have replied and explained to me that he was unable to work with me I would have completely understood. Not to mention, there was a NOTICE OF POTENTIAL DATA BREACH sent out to clients (including myself) in 2020. It stated that a number of The Bean Counter's clients' tax returns had been filed without their knowledge. This really happened to me. Fraudulent tax returns were filed in my name and prepaid debit cards were opened up in my name as well. This is why I need a PIN every time I file my taxes now. But, even after that, I still expressed interest to have my taxes done by him. Nevertheless, this tells you a lot about Randy's character. I was a client of his for years, I went through a little hard time in life and asked if he was able to work with me and got no response. He couldn't even tell me no, just straight ignored me. What does that tell you all about the kind of person Randy is? I'll let you all be the judge.

This institution is a complete and abject failure at the service it claims to provide. I was just…read morelooking at the other reviews and am baffled to find that I am not the only one with these problems. They forgot to file my 2016 tax returns. The whole reason to go to a CPA in the first place is the expectation that they would do their due diligence. It is one thing to make an accounting mistake in the returns but how could they forget to file the returns? I have never experienced such blatant incompetence with any service in my life, much less with something as crucial as Tax returns! Add to this I opted for the peace of mind service and I got the exact opposite of what I paid for. I actually regret having to even give the one star. This business deserves -5 stars if possible. When they tried the fix it a whole year later they wouldn't even pay for priority mail and would have me pay for tracking and postage if I wasn't going to chose the traditional mail. 2016 was the first year I even chose to go to an accountant instead of doing it myself online specifically because it was a year where I wanted to be particularly safe in my filings. This is such a disastrous turn that I am completely enraged with their conduct and their lackadaisical attitude towards their customers. Here's an advice for anyone considering going here, run! I don't have many regrets in my life but I wish I could go back in time to never go here.
