We bought a new build home that needed curb appeal. Met with Shane and within a short time we had a plan to submit to HOA. We agreed that the improvements would be completed in early Spring. True to their word, work started a couple of weeks ago and was finished last Friday. Staff was very professional and obliging--they even continued to work in snowy conditions. The improvements included weed barrier cloth, irrigation, lighting accents, tree and shrub placement and rock scaping. They were open to changes during construction and made suggestions that helped with curb appeal. We know this project has added value and we couldn't be happier. It's Magic Landscape & Design just completed their follow-up on the landscaping project at our home. In summary, the finished project looks great and we highly recommend the team at It's Magic for your next landscaping project. However, with our project now complete, I'd break down the review of the project into three parts; (1) design and scheduling, (2) installation, and finally 3) follow-up. (1) for the design phase, we contacted Shane at It's Magic and scheduled an initial 'walk-around' with him of our property where we described a rough idea of what we were looking for. In conjunction with those initial thoughts, Shane added suggestions as to tree and/or shrub locations as well as tree/shrub types based on his considerable knowledge of "...what works..." in the White Mountains. During this phase, we also created a rough outline of a planting area at the front of the house in addition to a small area for natural grass. (2) for the installation phase, Shane and one of his project crews, led by Efrain, walked the property and discussed the landscaping plan and immediately began installing Maple trees and irrigation lines in the backyard. (Note: this crew's work ethic was noteworthy!) (3) for the follow-up phase, Efrain checked the project at the 2-week mark, and indicated that he'd return at the end of week 3 to check the sod, adjust the irrigation settings and to cut the grass for the first time, which was just completed. It's Magic Landscape & Design installed a paver sidewalk and circular seating area in my undeveloped backyard at my Show Low AZ home. Shane provided the estimate and while it took a while to get on their schedule, I am thoroughly pleased with the results. This project was done in October of 2023, but it is only now that I'm able to enjoy the results due to finally getting a patio set and burner out there. I received estimates from multiple contractors, most of which were recommended by neighbors, and by reading multiple Yelp and Google reviews. It's Magic wasn't the cheapest, but Shane's advice and explanation of how the process works, how long the project would take, and how a paver sidewalk is actually built; was enough for me to accept their bid. The workers came and spent all day, every day until the job was done. I am thoroughly happy with the amount of work that was done for the price I was quoted. Again, it wasn't cheap, but the quality of the work is outstanding. read more

My husband Tom and I bought our Pinetop home three years ago. We decided the property needed weekly service and we hired It's Magic Landscape & Design to get the ball rolling in May 2023. Where to begin... started in March 2021 with Shane coming out to property for a new sprinkler system quote. I told him what I needed. He arrogantly told me, "this isn't my first rodeo." Hmmm... well now I've had professional people put in a sprinkler system in the phoenix valley for me so, this isn't my first rodeo either son. On April 6, 2021 I called Shane's wife Ginger and asked her if I was on the list to have work done. Shane and Ginger own It's Magic and In Bloom businesses in Pinetop, Arizona. (Lisa the office help didn't seem to know anything since I called her before phoning Ginger). Ginger confirmed yes I was on their schedule to have work done approximately around June 24, 2021. Today Ginger was phoned after Lisa the office help said work would start in June. I stated this is June. Then she quickly changed it to July saying we don't give dates of when we will start a job. Lisa said she would have Ginger call me. Now comes the interesting part... while on the phone with Ginger, she rudely told me she didn't know what I was talking about. Wow! You run several businesses, you are rude to people and you have zero time lines. This isn't rocket science! In short, I canceled It's Magic. If they (owners Ginger and Shane) are going to arrogant, rude and have zero communication skills then they shouldn't be in business with the public. read more

We recently had 7 new trees installed by Bloom/Its Magic, and the whole process went really well. The installers showed up on time, were efficient, courteous and cleaned up after themselves. They also gave us guidance on how to set up the drip system for the new trees and the watering schedule etc. read more

After five days in the valley, we had a $300 water bill because one of our four irrigation stations went on the day we left and didn't turn off. We've used Magic since 2004 and so called them to get an estimate on repairing it. As the system is 20 years old, we decided to replace all four stations. Ginger came out quickly to give us an estimate, and I was pleasantly pleased with the price, which I thought was very reasonable. They requested payment in advance, which we did. Technician Afraim came to do the repair. It was a pretty major deal and took him several hours. The workmanship was absolutely beautiful. We did have a problem. The next day, after cycling, one station would not turn off. It was not the station with the original problem. We had a new timer, so that was not the problem. The only way I could get the station to turn off, was to shut off the water entirely. They sent Afraim back again. He did whatever he did, tested the system, and left. But on the next scheduled cycle, the problem persisted again, I had to shut the system down to get it to stop. Afraim came back a third time, but the problem still persisted. It was clear at this point that magic management thought we were making this all up.(WHY would ANYONE do this?) The tech would do his tweak, test by turning the timer on and off, and everything would seem to be OK, but it wasn't, because when it went through a cycle, it simply would not turn off. After the third visit, after he left, I ran it through a cycle. It didn't turn off, and I called magic, spoke with Sean, and suggested he come back himself and see what was going on. He and the tech came and I believe replaced the valve entirely and everything finally worked! So at the end, we got what we wanted at a good price. Magic management needlessly made the process of resolving this a bit unpleasant, but finally got it done. read more

BEWARE ,This was the worst experience my wife and I have ever had with a business. Upon meeting with owner to renew our back yard, he suggested planting sod. When asked about how he thought he was the better choice, he was amazingly arrogant and disrespectful to other workers in the area, saying he was the only one who offers a guarantee with his work and he is established in town. We had been taken advantage of by contractors in the past so the guarantee sounded good. He removed the existing grass and put in 4 to 6 inches of crushed cendars. After further investigation, that was the worst thing to do. No place for the sod to root, and water just runs off causing huge water bills. When he delivered the sod, it was horrible, unbelievable really! It looked like a checker board yellow, green, etc, it was a joke. We complained to the owner, when he came out to see the finished product, he said he had never seen an thing like this in 20 years. Of course we asked him to replace it, thinking that wad obvious, oh no, he told us it wasen't his problem, go to the guy who sold him the sod! We must have looked so stupid standing there (my wife snd I) with our mouth open.. what, are you kidding! After days and countless hours of my wife and I begging , discussing, contacting the "sod guy", because the owner gave us no choice, by the way, the sod guy could not believe it's Magic would send him to the job either, but he did a lot of business with the owner, so he agreed. Then trying to figure out how any business owner could be so dishonest and arrogant, the owner gave permission to the sod guy to replace ONLY the dead strips of sod, again a joke. So, as expected, the sod completely died in weeks. The owner took no responsibility at all. When asked about the warranty, he gave excuse after excuse, i.e. "I don't know how you watered it! (His workers set the clock and told us what water schedule he wanted) "you didn't fertilize it well enough" and on and on. He never replaced the sod or gave us ANY money back . We went to other professionals who said the yard was totally done wrong..one of the professional landscapers even told the owner of its Magic the hob was done wrong..nothing. So, we wanted a nice yard, we were, in our opinion, swindled, so we had to hire someone else to do the job. Again, we tried to contact it's magic ,asking for them to at least remove the dead sod and cendars they put down, no, in fact the owners refused to talk to us at all. It became much uglier, but the bottom line, the owner never took any responsibility for installing dead grass and a faulty base. We now have an incredible yard, front and back. Thanks to a reputable and ethical landscaper. Wish we didn't have to pay for it twice.. read more

I agree with Charlie. Ginger landscaped are little yard last summer. The Japanese Maple was questionable then as its leaves curled. She assured me it was just stress of transplanting. The design was not creative and the perennial plantings were sparse. Several of those looked sickly too. She assured me they would fill in and I would be pleased next summer. Really!! Quite the opposite. We came back to an almost dead tree and some really dead plants. I tried many times to talk to Ginger but was always relayed to her assistant. I called, emailed, and went by three times. At last resort, I wrote a personal "real" letter to Ginger. The assistant sent a curt email saying it was a different winter and the plants needed to be watered quickly after the late freeze. They told us last summer they would be responsible for scheduling systems to be turned on. We turn our water off during cold months, but had we been notified of the need for water, we would have had it turned on immediately. This was NO Excuse. And there was no excuse for rudeness. Terrible customer service. I called twice, spoke to Shane and receptionist and No call back when requesting a bid on cleanup of my property. A courtesy call back to tell me weather you can or can't bid the job would be in-line with professionalism, so I'm not left waiting. read more
