When we initially met with the caterer 7 months before our wedding, we had told them that we estimated 130 guests, but it would probably be less. They told us that wouldn't be an issue and to let them know a month out a final guest count. However, a month out from our wedding, they were trying to charge us for a full 130 when we had told them that our guest count was 105 (including the bride & groom). Our wedding planner was able to convince them to charge us for only 115 people, so we ended up inviting another 4 guests since we were paying for the food. So we had 109 guests and were paying for 115. We couldn't believe it and were completely disappointed to later find out that some of the food ran out, specifically the mahi mahi entree, when we had paid for 6 more people than we ended up having in attendance. Those who did not get to eat mahi were given more of the appetizers to compensate. Per our contract we had understood that we paid for more than the amount of actual guests and we can't understand why a main entree had run out before two full tables had been served. The caterer was not only late to the venue for initial set up, but was also very late to serve the food, after it had been blessed and a thank you speech from the father of the bride, to let our guests eat. This lead to many of our guests questioning both my wife and myself when we would actually have dinner. The food was good, but due to the service, we would not recommend this company for your catering needs ever.

Our guests (around 70) were truly impressed with all of the food, and there was more than enough for everyone. We had cocktail hour with a cheese platter with fruit, and a crudités platter with fresh vegetables. For the main course, we had chicken Marsala, eggplant parmigiana, baked ziti, and for our youngest guests, buttered bow tie noodles. Although, I saw those on most of the adult plates too. We also had a carved turkey breast with cranberry relish, and some really great breads. They also provided the birthday cake which was so moist and delicious that our guests thought it had to have been from a regular bakery. Every step was handled with professionalism and a friendly smile. Even when I thought we were going to have too many people for the room, they figured out how to make it work, and it did.

Younique Events did an absolute fantastic job all year long helping me in our wedding planning process. Meredith took my phone calls regarding advice for the reception process. She and her team volunteered to accept my online shipments at their office so that all of my reception items could be in Florida upon my arrival from Chicago. Meredith helped keep everything organized including inventory lists and checking the inventory to make sure shipments arrived safe and sound. She answered emails always within 24 hours and almost always answered the phone the first time i called regarding a situation. Younique events is very accessible to their clients and they make you feel like a priority. Meredith did a wonderful job negotiating with vendors and the hotels we blocked rooms with. She made sure they upheld all promises they had made to us. Meredith and her team did a great job executing my "plan" that we had discussed a year prior in person at the venue and through the year via phone calls. I was able to relax and get myself ready the day of the wedding and take my pictures knowing the Younique events team was setting up each detail we had planned for decor. The team was prompt, organized, friendly, caring and good listeners. They were really a joy to work with and looking back I cannot even imagine my day without them. I know it would have been IMPOSSIBLE to execute the preparation and the day of decor without them. I would have been late to my own wedding and sweating my make up off :) they were a necessity! we felt sooo lucky to have worked with them. Our guests and even we could not stop talking about how great our wedding event was. ps the team even ran out to the pharmacy to get the groom head cold medication as he was running a fever the entire day, sick as a dog, but with their support no one even knew the groom was ill.

Fast forward to now. My boss wanted to do something to recognize the dietitians for nutrition month, so she booked us a painting party here. I was immediately anxious, I can't paint! I was nervous about going and even on the day of I did not feel any better about it. In fact, I was convinced this would really suck! About 7 of us came and our instructor was Cole. He was so very patient with us. Most dietitians have a type A personality and want to control everything. I can say that I am more easy going than that, but still, this is art we are talking about here. I am more at ease doing calorie calculations for tube feeding patients! So we begin our art session. Slowly but surely, the picture began to take place (we did a pineapple). Even more awesome, it was super relaxing, at least for me it was. Cole was very helpful and didn't make me (us) feel like we were not up to par with the art world. He guided us through the whole process, using terms that we could understand. In the end, I REALLLLLLLLLLLY enjoyed myself and was glad that my boss chose this activity for us to do! I actually asked her if we could do this again! I wouldn't mind going with some of my friends if we could get a schedule together that worked for all of us.
