I had been on a long two year road of several needed surgeries that had caused nerve damage to my pelvic area. I had a hypertonic pelvis due to the stress and all my pain. I ended up seeing a doctor in Chicago that recommended Terri who she felt was the best therapist in Fort Wayne. I had been to Steppin up for a few weeks when I was referred by my Dr here in town but they really didn't do much for me. The knowledge at Steppin Up just wasn't there. Steppin Up versus Healthy Expectations was night and day! On the first day I met Terri, I really couldn't do much of anything . Sitting and walking was hard to do. I just felt terrible and very depressed. Over time she taught me skills on how to release and stretch my hips and pelvic area. Calm my flared nerves that caused me so much pain. Terri taught me ways to breath to relax my tense muscles. I stayed dedicated to seeing Terri twice a week along with my Dr in Chicago. I did all the homework Terri gave me to do and listened to her calm words of advice. After seeing Terri for almost a year, I am almost pain free. I have started doing things I used to enjoy and slowly feel my life is returning back to normal. It's so important to have a good physical therapist that understands the process of healing, patience that is needed to fully heal and pushes you. Dealing with pelvic issues and nerve damage isn't fun or a topic you want to share with the world. I want to share how important it is to take action if you feel something is wrong. Terri is not only a pelvic therapist but deals with other issues in the body. I will be forever grateful to Terri! I absolutely would not be where I am today without her. I do not feel they listen well, have been treated rudely, and have gotten my appointments wrong multiple times- at times I have taken the day off work to enjoy a massage to learn it was not scheduled- or rescheduled an appointment within the 24 hour window and still get a call asking if I am coming to my appointment. I am patient and understanding but the amount of times this has happened to me is in a word- ridiculous. I am not sure if I will continue because I have no sense of security of what I have scheduled is actually scheduled. **I tried to write this on their actual page and kept receiving an error--hmm-- guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I entered Choice using a walker! I had cleaned my carpet…read moreseveral days earlier.....leaving my lower back with so much pain. My GP Doctor did CRT scan and X-rays. With the results my Doctor gave me a detailed schedule to follow. A list of Orthopedic physicians in our area, physical to start according to their schedule and follow their schedule. Seeing a Ortho/Nurse Practitioner, gave a complete list to follow. Physical Therapy to start..... My husband had gone to therapy several years prior, Brian Roth as his therapist. Finding Mr. Roth at Choice in Auburn. Mr Roth took time with the exam, he started slow, pain tolerance was his concern. Three days a week that included muscle stretches, rotation, walking backwards on treadmill.....etc. Each day of therapy was a win! The walker was placed back in storage, I could drive myself to Choice, and feeling stronger each day! I quit muscle spasm meds! Each day eased muscles soreness and doing several of the stretches at home!! I was advanced to just two day per week and have an appointment with Orthopedic Doctor next week for prognosis to date.
