It's no secret I looove to shop. I also like to shop and not spend $400 on an everyday top or $250 on a pair of jeans. But with my champagne taste and a tasty micro beer budget, I was looking forward to checking out Ivy & Leo's new store in SouthPark at the Specialty Shops on the Park. Upon my entry, the first thing I did was gravitate to the fall sweater dresses and checked a few price tags around the store. Here's what I saw as (very) general price break downs from my quick peruse: Tops: $30-$60 Sweaters: $40-$80 Dresses (cocktail): $50-$100 Dreses (casual): $30-$75 Jackets: $30-$100 (didn't see real leather here) Jeans: Didn't get a chance to check these out Accessories: $5-$30 Shoes: Didn't get a chance to check these out either So, as you can see the prices are pretty affordable for a cute trendy piece. This store definitely skews a bit younger, but it's not "clubbing" clothes, nor will these items last more than three seasons if you know what I mean. I did a little digging and I found a really cute blousy cocktail dress with a bit of beading on the sleeves for $60. Plus, they usually don't carry more than 3-5 of each item (varied size) so the likelihood that you'll run into someone sportin' the same dress/coat/shirt/etc. is rare. While it's not my end all be all to Charlotte fashion, it's nice to have a store like this that's really accessible to wide range of ages and interests. With the nice, helpful and non-pushy staff, eclectic selection and affordable prices, I'll be back to Ivy & Leo!

I shop here regularly and truly enjoy the experience. The Village Store is part of our quaint Main Street area not to be overlooked. You can shop for housewares, local foods, boutique clothing and jewelry, toys, Lake Life and Lake Norman local gifty items, like tshirts, pillows, tea towels, etc. There is so much to look at here, and trust me, you will find something you love! The staff there is very friendly and the store is so well stocked. The prices are very fair compared to other boutique style stores, but I'd say the Village Store has the biggest selection of home and gift items in the Lake area. They have begun putting out their fall decor, and they really have some beautiful displays during the Christmas season. I really enjoy shopping here.

They have a lot of unique items here, too, encouraging lengthy browsing. I was able to find a perfect gift for Christmas, and continue to visit this store every time I'm in Davidson. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, too. I only wish they were open later on Saturday night (like 7 or 8pm) so we could visit after dinner, rather than having to go before. Definitely check this place out of you are looking for a gift for yourself or someone else!

The lady next to me who was putting socks away didn't speak. Just looking at every item that I touched. I can guarantee you I make more money than them in one day. I have mixed emotions about this place. I walk past it EVERY day on the way to work and I eyeball…read morethe items in the windows. If it's cute...I make a mental note....if I gasp...I'll walk in and usually will not purchase because they won't have my size. grr. I have to get a dress in a size large in everything so it won't look like a micro mini on my long legs. And Larges tend to fly off the shelves. Lets face it....I'm not 20 anymore and I shouldn't be in a micro anything. I'm all woman..hear me roar. I think this location is a little bit "hipper" than the other location that is in the South Park area next to WS. That location has some of the same pieces but I've been in there and the items would def appeal to the older crowd (40's) and then made mid 20s. Today..... Uptown location made me proud. I had my eye on a Chevron Black and White LONG maxi skirt that was at another boutique in dilworth. I called them and they sold out in about a week. *tears* of sadness. Oh WAIT...I thought to myself...I think Ivy & Leo had the same skirt....I'll check on Monday. Walked in today with a coworker and I couldn't find it on the rack. *tears of sadness* I browse the sale rack as I morn in silence. My coworker said "is this it". A light from heaven shown down with all it's glory as she held up my beloved chevron black and white maxi skirt. "YES" and I snatched it. Thank the good Lord it was a large. I would have probably bought it anyway if it were a small and squeezed my thick'um thighs in it. (Don't judge...you know you've done that before). Here's where I get irritated. I'm happy and I asked the sales girl to hold it for me as I need to go back and get my wallet. I could have sworn she rolled her eyes in her head and I politely said that I would be back...no need to worry. She just grabbed it and said "Name?" wow....someone's got the Monday blues. So I went back and the OTHER nicer girl helped me. Anyway..that's my story. Check it out. It's a trendy little place and dangerous for me as it's on my way to work....blah. I have a shopping problem.

But the next person who came through the door, they both yelled out "welcome in" and I looked at my friend to say, "did they say anything when we walked in?" She acknowledged they didn't. My friend was looking for items for an upcoming business trip and I was just looking around. No one said anything to us still. The two employees continued their chatter. I walked closer to the registers where they were located looking at shirts and only then did one of them speak. I never turned around when I responded. Now, Versona isn't a place that I usually go. I have been in one other location. They were extremely helpful and welcoming. They were engaging and wanted my friend and I to have a great experience. Here, they were more concerned with their conversation. They have a major selection of clothing, colors, jewelry and styles. The store is really nice. The clothes are a good quality and for the price, you will really love your items. I highly doubt I will return to this location.
