I wore my hair like this for a year and was very self conscious when going out because I used to be able to let my hair down proudly. I noticed how bad my self esteem was when I started dating. I decided I wanted to invest in myself and find a specialist that would give me beautiful hair, and also be knowledgeable in keeping my hair regrowth healthy. I did some research and came across Josette's website. I saw how amazing her work is, which highlights the fact that she has 30 years of experience. I knew Josette was the specialist I needed, because I wanted quality work that would last a long time. We had a consultation appointment, and I let her use her expertise (uninhibited) to find the perfect color match for my looks. She broke down all the costs for me, and didn't rush me or try to upsale me. She explained everything because I never had extensions before. She decided that my extensions would be beaded, wefted, and sewn in. Through the whole process, she made me feel like a person and not a money bag. When she finished my hair, I was shocked at how natural and perfect it looked with my skin tone. My hair was luscious and full, without looking bulky. She cut some of the hair afterwards to give texture and natural vibes. She educated me on everything I needed to know to take care of my new hair. She did a phenomenal job, and I'm so glad I picked her, rather than a regular extension specialist. However, I want to clarify an important update regarding my experience with one specific stylist. After my appointment, the stylist reviewed my personal social media and later sent me a message declining to service me further--not due to anything that occurred during my appointment, but because I styled my own hair differently outside of the salon. While I respect a stylist's right to set boundaries in their chair, reviewing a client's personal content and making assumptions about them felt unprofessional and inappropriate. Client autonomy outside of appointments should be respected. That said, this issue reflects one individual, not the academy as a whole. I would absolutely return to Bellus Academy and simply book with a different student/stylist moving forward.

I have very long curly hair that I like straight. So she had to blow dry my hair, flat iron it, and shampoo it! Everyone there was so nice, smiling, and so accommodating! There was ZERO real hands-on training, and I graduated with no basic skills in brows, lashes, or facials. How is that even acceptable? The place was filthy. There was mold, the sink water came out WHITE, and we were still expected to use it on clients' faces. Laundry from barbers and estheticians was mixed together, and I saw towels with hair being reused. It was disgusting, unprofessional, and dangerous. We complained, and they did NOTHING. This school is a complete failure in every way -- education, hygiene, professionalism, and safety. If you value your time, money, and future, DO NOT enroll here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Ever.

Please come to class with an open mind because she provides a lot of material and takes you step-by-step. Her classes are fun and entertaining.
