This place was having a lot of issues and we were very concerned about our mom being there. But once Dan came in as the Director things started to turn around. We have been very happy with the care and the service; what a difference can one person make. We just pray that things will stay the same now that Dan decided to leave the community. If anyone needs assisted living I highly recommend Ivy Park at Studio City. The management and all their staff were excellent. all were approachable, available, and sensitive to the needs of my relative. I was hesitant at first, but they proved me wrong from start to finish. Once again, I revisited Ivy Park, Studio City, this time with my mom, who is resisting moving into a place with memory care. When she suddenly agreed to visit, Ta'Lani Harris was there (she wasn't supposed to be), and we took a second tour. We may have been on her very first tour months ago, and the visit yesterday was just as impressive. I watched the American Songbook "teacher" do this thing, and I thought it was a great interactive program. The residents looked happy and engaged. They let my mom try a delicious chicken salad. My standards are very high, so I can't speak to being a client, but it's definitely worth making an appointment with Ta'Lani to see the place. I get a great vibe, and the staff is exceptional - so attentive, kind, and patient. Worth a look. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY TO IVY PARK STUDIO CITY! My loved one lived at this location when it was Sunrise, and I felt most of the care and staff were competent. When I learned of the new company taking over, I was rather upset. This is NOT a company I would have chosen because I was familiar with the family who began Oakmont (parent company) and they had a criminal reputation (are no longer owners.) Oakmont took possession of 28 properties at once and where wholly unprepared for the transition. I was hesitant to move my loved one because I was concerned it would cause more stress. Within 3 months it was clear we were lied to by Oakmont Corporate representatives who said very little would change and care would continue at the same level. The turnover of staff became rampant and lower quality people were hired and given 1/3 of the necessary training. Many good staff left from being overworked and under supported. It also became clear that Oakmont Corporate was more concerned about cutting costs and saving money than putting money into resident care. (For god sakes, they took away facial tissue.) We paid a FORTUNE to have our loved one there and we were not getting what we paid for. (Evergreen Floor) Ivy Park Corporate feels 2 care managers for 26 residents is sufficient. It became a death trap. Two residents had falls, that should have been prevented, that sped up their decline. Each died within a few weeks. Repetitive falls of residents occurred weekly, delay in refreshing, reduction in bathing and basic hygiene became the norm, and my loved one had constant bruises, bed sores and skin tears. Extra services paid for were not provided, like check-ins and assisted feeding. They broke the contract we had with them to provide proper care for an exorbitant fee. They committed fraud by stating to new families they would provide care and services that were not part of the program. Sales are the only thing that drives them. In particular, the manager of Evergreen is incompetent. He is a sack of skin. Do not trust anything he says to you about resident care or treatment of staff. He had been a bad hire by Sunrise and specifically the former director . Management ignored us and families who pointed out he was insufficient at his job. The only thing he cares about is covering his butt since he knows the floor is not providing what they should. He has no interest in making things better and took retribution on staff who spoke out about terrible conditions. And why should he change when they keep letting him get away with the crappy job he does? There have been no repercussions for treating our families like crap. It all could be fixed with more caregivers, proper training and a manager who cared about the residents. Ivy Park is not interested. Evergreen manager has no engagement with residents, calls them names, never assisted or mentored care managers, and repeatedly responded with "oh well, it is what it is" when people would raise concerns about inadequate staffing or care being neglected. He only assisted when pressured to do so and only the bare minimum. Would go right back to sitting in his office where he frequently sleeps at his desk. After a year it became very clear that resident care was not a priority to Ivy Park Corporate and they do not support care managers, or care about their burnout or turnover. I removed my family member because I was not getting the level of care I was promised or paid for and I became more and more scared for the safety of my loved one. I urge you to find a different location for your person. read more

My husband lived here for 1-1/2 years after being in a horrific accident, which left him with many deficits, mentally and physically. He was in the hospital for a long time and not ready to come home yet, so this seemed like a good alternative to a nursing home and was meant to be very temporary. However, he declined seriously during his stay there. While I want to give a shout out to many wonderful people, a good portion of the staff is rude to patients and their families. The clearly hate their jobs and have no interest in helping, but just getting through the day doing as little as possible. The alarm bells went off, and I started talking to a lot of people, brought him outside the center to see a neurologist and then a neurosurgeon, and finally, he began to improve. Their PT is a big joke, so I ended up hiring someone from the outside. The doctor who sees many of the patients there is non-responsive. I was told my husband was incontinent. No - he wasn't. Most of the time when he asked to go to the bathroom, as he needed help in ambulation, he was ignored and told to go in his diaper. Even when I asked someone to help him, I was yelled out and told they were too busy and he should just go in the diaper. Funny - as soon as I brought him home after a successful surgery and much improvement, no thanks to Ivy Park, he no longer needed the diapers. Some of the staff literally strip the dignity of the residents. Yet, if I tried to help him, I also got yelled out and told not to do it, but to get a staff member. There are a million incidents I could go through, but suffice to say that this is definitely not a place for rehabilitation or rest after an accident. It is a warehouse for maintenance of people. At one point, someone (not me) had called the police because they felt my husband was being abused. Police interviewed him and he was afraid to talk for fear of the person reported retaliating against him. I did speak with a few people there, who agreed with me that some of the staff were not treating him properly, but no one did anything about it. Finally, I brought him home with the help of a caregiver at home. We are now phasing out the caregiver entirely. I shudder to think where he would be at if I let him stay there. read more

My Mom lived for 10 months. April 2023 to February 2024. I believe every senior living center will have the best of reviews and the worst. It's just the nature of this business. Some of the workers are pure angels, doing the work they love. And many hate their job and hate the tenants. All senior living centers roll out the red carpet and treat you like gold, especially on move-in day. Then reality hits. I highly recommend you install a camera without telling anyone. Again, some workers are angels and others just militant evil humans control freaks. They remind me of those evil baby-sitters. You just have to catch them on camera. The food is horrible, just the worst. No matter how many times they tell they are making improvements, it is not good. Maybe 1 or 2 meal out 21 will be good. My mom was not without her faults and required compassion and patients, but some worker forget that this the motto of Ivy Park; to be compassionate and patient. No matter how times we brought to the attention of the management, even with eye-witnesses (that just couldn't believe now they to spoke to mom), nothing changed.
