When I read your profile, I was truly in awe--I knew I had found the right advocate for Noah. Today, witnessing you navigate a team of so-called experts with such knowledge, skill, and articulation was impressive. You did an amazing job, and it's clear how intelligent and experienced you are, not to mention your passion for fighting for the families you help. I sincerely hope you mentor young professionals because we need more advocates like you in this space. Thank you again for helping us navigate this new and challenging chapter for Noah. The teachers focus on academics, team work and communication. I noticed my kids displaying good manners, communicating effectively with others, and being considerate of the feelings of others which developed their social skills. I'm so glad my Wife and I found this school....they have been awesome. I highly recommend Learning Tree for parents looking for a after school program.

At the beginning, we were invited to a group chat with teachers and staff, where responses were prompt and communication felt excellent -- a major reason we chose the program. Regrettably, this responsiveness faded after a few months, with far more messages left unread or ignored than addressed. Additionally, we received no detailed academic updates about my son's progress throughout his entire time there. Teachers barely greeted you when picking up a child. Maybe this is the norm, but as a Korean mom who attended Korean hagwons (after school programs) before, in addition to being a teacher at an after-school program myself for five years in the past, this felt a bit rude and very unwelcoming. My son can have challenging behaviors, something I was transparent about from day one. I do appreciate that the staff worked with him over the months. However, after his dismissal in April, the lack of communication became especially concerning. I have followed up multiple times about the prorated refund for the unused portion of April's tuition and clarification on the refundable status of the enrollment deposit. Despite this, Grace, the program manager, has not responded since April. I gave her two months before writing this review. Additionally, when I directly asked Grace whether news of his dismissal had been shared with other parents, she assured me it had not. That said, I have since sensed uncomfortable vibes from certain parents whose children are in the same class, leading me to wonder if information was shared after all (my gut feeling tells me it has). Regardless of the reason for dismissal, families deserve transparent billing, timely financial resolution, and basic professional courtesy. Being left in the dark after months of payments is both surprising and disheartening. This has been a very negative, unwelcoming, and unprofessional experience. This place cannot be trusted. I would strongly advise other families to look elsewhere.

No, depends on your perspective on what good tutoring, or an good after school program should be. Below is my honest and unbiased opinions for your consideration. Pro: they do have capable tutors like Mr Andrew, Ms St Claire, but they are most effective on a one on one session which will cost you extra. The school always accommodates. Again, fees are on top of the regular tuition. Decent Art, Music, Foreign language Classes. Con: This school is not run by professionals with education background, trainings etc. The philosophy is that of Cramming the kids with class after class, and little room to spare. No playground, limited spaces for personal space. My son's biggest complaint was the loud noise in the so call homework room. Since all kids, who aren't enrolled in specialty classes are all in the room. So you guess it. Chaos... Lord of the Flies, and most of them are starving... Now if your child is struggling in school, and it is desperately to catch up? This might be the school for you. It is basically school 2.0. I can see kids from China, ESL , getting the extra boost here. Your kid will get improved grade, but essentially he is in school from 7 to 7. I guess that is a roar of the Tiger Mom thing, and just not this Asian Dad, but I never made it to Med school, so my opinion doesn't matter. Wish you all the best.

I had such high hopes for my son who has been struggling with reading, writing and anything related…read moreto English. My son scored badly on the assessment due to being unmotivated to answer the test questions properly. I was discouraged and heartbroken but Minera ensured me that there are kids that come to Sylvan with similar issues and struggles. She assured me that they will work with him because they have dealt with kids with ADHD in the past. She also reassured me that there are some kids who displayed similar findings with assessments and they showed improvement. I also ended up enrolling my 2 other younger children here to accompany my other son. We did not want my other son to feel as if there was something wrong with him especially since he was already struggling academically, behaviorally not to mentioned he was discouraged and had low self esteem. I had such high hopes but unfortunately things didn't quite work out as I had hoped. The tutors were all wonderful and professional. They all tried so hard to help my son but unfortunately his behavior and disruption to others students became an issue. My other two kids did great at the end and were doing well but unfortunately my one son that desperately needed the most help, did not. I guess despite the great rating they cannot always help everyone. Each child has a different personality, learning style and ability and unfortunately it was my son that was too far to be reached. I wish that it could have worked out. But unfortunately I sensed a lot of frustration hence the long text messages as well as a brief update from Minera one afternoon. She updated me regarding my son's behavior and inability to move forward in the curriculum due to his refusal to show his work and knowledge of the subject. I sensed her frustration, in which I do not blame her. I would have hoped that they would have been able to be more professional and knowing how to deal with kids with ADHD like they said they did. It was discouraging and upsetting to see the opposite attitude, body language and demeanor this time around. Her voice as well as her facial expressions did not offer any sense of hope or recommendations to help improve or change the situation. I feel Minera gave me a false sense of hope and did not deliver their promise. Thank you to all the tutors though who did try to help my son. I deeply appreciate the time, patience you all put into my 3 kids, as for Minera, I am disappointed in your professionalism. You should not make assurances that you cannot keep.
