Not just by the clinical definition (BMI, etc), but also from my own viewpoint. Clothes never seemed to fit just right, and I was always uncomfortable in them - ready to put on pajamas. However, a few months ago a dear friend of mine suggested that begin a health journey - not even really about weight loss. I resisted, but finally (after a bit of jealousy watching from the outside) decided I was worth it. Over the past decade or so, I had slowly gained more than 50 lbs. I always had an excuse: being happily married, having a high stress career, and my career's travel demands (entertaining clients, eating at off-times, and drinking socially). However, the truth was that I simply didn't know how to manage my intake, and I prioritized a lot of other things ahead of my health.
