There are far better places in Tulum to spend your money…read more The first time we visited, they overcharged us on the bill. After I pointed it out, they corrected it, so I assumed it was an honest mistake and decided to come back. On our second visit, I ordered wings and a spicy mezcalita. The drink wasn't spicy, so I asked if they could make it a bit hotter. They added more Tajín. Fine. Not what I meant, but not worth arguing about. The real issue came with the bill. I was charged nearly 600 pesos for the mezcalitas. When I asked why, I was told that because I requested extra spice, they charged me as if I had ordered another drink. Meanwhile, their margaritas are listed at 119 pesos. Charging hundreds of extra pesos because a customer asks for a little more spice is absurd. The food was mediocre, the restaurant smelled like sewage inside, and the server had already added himself a 15% tip. When I declined the automatic gratuity, he was clearly unhappy about it. I still left 10%. After two visits involving questionable charges, disappointing food, and poor service, we won't be returning.

I was going to leave this place a 2 star review. But then they turned on techno music. This is the…read moreleast Irish Irish bar on the planet. None of the TVs work. The wings are pinky sized. I tried the mozzarella sticks too and they were straight out of the microwave. For some reason they have an entire bar, but all the seats are facing away from the bar... it baffles the mind. The actual tap beers don't work. Literally none. Don't go here. I can't imagine a less Irish Irish bar.

They got beers on tap including IPAs. The TV was playing NBA and NFL games when we were there. The service was quick. We actually came in there just to drink liquor that we bought at the duty free shop, but they still came up to us and gave us some menus to order additional food. Their tacos are worth a short. The nachos are standard but hit the spot when you're there to simply chill. Note: this restaurant can get really loud because of the TV/sports which attracts a particular party crowd. But everyone is there to have a good time right!? That's the reason we were there lol

We live in the Bay Area where Korean BBQ spots are everywhere, and we've tried a lot of them over…read morethe years. We've also eaten at many places in LA, which is known for having some of the best Korean food. We saw this place had pretty solid reviews, especially on Google, and even saw comments from people claiming they were Korean and from LA saying this place rivaled KBBQ spots there. Because of that, we came in with really high expectations. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. The restaurant is located upstairs, and the elevator ride alone almost made us turn around. It was extremely shaky and honestly felt unsafe at times. There were moments we thought it might actually drop. I would definitely recommend taking the stairs instead. We ordered the mixed combo with beef, chicken, and pork, along with soybean soup and steamed egg. The banchan selection was limited and overall the flavors were pretty underwhelming. The biggest issue though was the meat quality. Most of the meats were chewy, including the pork belly, which should have been much more tender because of the fat content. One thing we've noticed in Mexico compared to the US is that the meat quality in general often isn't quite the same, and this place really highlighted that for us. Honestly, Gen BBQ back in California is much better than this spot. I understand some people love this place because they cook over charcoal, but the cooking process took forever. Each meat took a long time to cook, and they had to replace the coals multiple times during the meal. The one thing that really stood out in a positive way was the steamed egg. It was honestly one of the best steamed eggs we've had. Super fluffy, airy, and cooked perfectly. If you're someone who really loves Korean food or Korean BBQ, I personally wouldn't recommend going out of your way for this place. There are much better options out there worth spending your money on.

After a great lazy day of floating around the pool for our last day in Cancun, we almost decided to…read moreskip a nice dinner and just grab some (more) tacos from a casual spot nearby. But, after debating and reading some reviews, we decided to call (at 7pm) and see if La Buena Barra had any open tables for 7:30. Since Cancún dinner culture generally ramps up after 8, we were in luck and headed to the restaurant. We were warmly greeted by the host team and escorted promptly to a great table outside, overlooking the lagoon and the last bits of sunset in the sky. The ambience of La Buena Barra is amazing, great lighting, ceiling fans to keep a light breeze going, and music that is loud enough to prevent you from hearing conversations at other tables, but still allowed us to talk just fine. Our servers Jonathan and Estefany were the sweetest and most attentive that we experienced during our trip! Excellent food recommendations, even advising against getting a second dessert (due to their size) instead of just letting us spend more money there. Absolutely worthy of 5 star service! Ok- the food: very good, probably some of the more distinct flavors we enjoyed in Cancun. Also a very unique selection of cocktails, delivered in all sorts of unique glasses. BUT truly the best thing we ate was the corn ice cream! It's molded ice cream that looks exactly like an ear of white corn with a ribbon of dulce de leche in the center- honestly the best ice cream I've ever eaten at a restaurant! Prices per person can easily exceed $1000 pesos here depending on what you get, but it's possible to enjoy the experience on a budget. We shared an appetizer (empanadas, highly recommend), shared a large entree (ribeye tacos, comes with 7), a cocktail, side of corn, and dessert- ended up being around $1200 plus tip.

I think I like the ambience of the interior at this location better than the one in Mexico City. As…read morefor the terrace seating, you can't compare the waterfront view here.
