We live in the Bay Area where Korean BBQ spots are everywhere, and we've tried a lot of them over the years. We've also eaten at many places in LA, which is known for having some of the best Korean food. We saw this place had pretty solid reviews, especially on Google, and even saw comments from people claiming they were Korean and from LA saying this place rivaled KBBQ spots there. Because of that, we came in with really high expectations. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. The restaurant is located upstairs, and the elevator ride alone almost made us turn around. It was extremely shaky and honestly felt unsafe at times. There were moments we thought it might actually drop. I would definitely recommend taking the stairs instead. We ordered the mixed combo with beef, chicken, and pork, along with soybean soup and steamed egg. The banchan selection was limited and overall the flavors were pretty underwhelming. The biggest issue though was the meat quality. Most of the meats were chewy, including the pork belly, which should have been much more tender because of the fat content. One thing we've noticed in Mexico compared to the US is that the meat quality in general often isn't quite the same, and this place really highlighted that for us. Honestly, Gen BBQ back in California is much better than this spot. I understand some people love this place because they cook over charcoal, but the cooking process took forever. Each meat took a long time to cook, and they had to replace the coals multiple times during the meal. The one thing that really stood out in a positive way was the steamed egg. It was honestly one of the best steamed eggs we've had. Super fluffy, airy, and cooked perfectly. If you're someone who really loves Korean food or Korean BBQ, I personally wouldn't recommend going out of your way for this place. This place is truly authentic. The owner was incredibly attentative and all her staff were extremely kind and welcoming. The food is amazing! You defenetly get quality over quantity here wich, comming from the States, it is usually the other way around. The grill is a charcoal grill wich gives the food an amazing taste. We had the mixed plate so we could have a taste of the beef, chicken and pork. The marinated spicy pork was the best! She marinates her meat for 72 hours! The combo came with 2 rices, 2 soups, the plate of meat and the sides. We ordered a Kimchi pancake (So good!) And a bottle of Soju as well. Not only is the food incredible but so is the full service you get! They cook the food for you and they always make sure you do not need anything. Truly recommend this gem in Cancun! read more

I went with 6 other people. We are all from the San Francisco Bay. We love Korean food and offend go to SoCal just to eat in Ktown. We ordered one beef set, one pork set, and a seafood pancake to share. The sets each come with 2 bowls of rice, the eggs and soy bean soup. We had to add on order of galbi and pork belly to satisfy everyone's appetites. Overall it is not on par with the KBBQ back home. Their bonchon is tasty but limited to kimchee, some kind of pickled red cabbage, zucchini, and lettuce leaves. They don't have samples like bulgogi, brisket, sliced garlic, peppers or sesame oil. They were also out of the jajiang mein, kimbop, and kimchee jjigae. I have to say this was the best Asian food we've had in Cancun. (We come to Cancun once or twice a year) We would totally go back the next time we're in town. read more

I'm so happy to have found this restaurant in the midst of Cancun's food scene. I was extremely tired of the all-inclusive buffet meals and was looking for some good Asian food. Oh My GGogi has great KBBQ for affordable prices. My friend ordered one portion of meat which was enough. They use charcoal for the grills. I got the ddeokbokki, cheese ramen, and egg soufflé which were tasty as well. Unfortunately, they don't serve shaved ice (bingsoo) right now but they offer a bunch of other authentic Korean items. The service (and the Korean manager) was friendly as well. I could definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for Asian food in Cancun. I'm so pleased with myself that I was able to locate a Korean bbq spot in Cancun! I've been craving for something Asian and with Chicago dining currently closed, I knew I had to check if Korean BBQ was available out here since it had been forever since I had that. This was a little out of the way from the hotel zone so it was a $25 cab ride to get there. It's located on the top floor of the strip mall and you have the option of indoor or outdoor dining. They have an extensive beverage and food menu so it was hard to choose especially when you arrive hungry! We opted for the beef package which included an assortment of their beef selections and an order of the pork belly. The package also came with rice, kimchi jigae (at an up charge), steamed egg, and banchan. We added an order of the fried Mandu and these were probably the best homemade mandu I've ever had! It was flavorful and just burst with juicy flavor! The steamed egg seemed like it was cooked with broth because it was also very flavorful. Everything was homemade and all very delicious. It felt like the owner was inviting us to eat in her home. You can tell that everything was made with a lot of love and care. Ok, coming from Southern California I didn't have high expectations. This is hands down the best Korean BBQ I have ever had, seriously! Service was outstanding and food was absolutely great. Being Korean from LA Koreatown, after 4 days without Korean food in Cancun was driving me crazy. I came to this place with Google search and a quick taxi ride. Don't worry. It is located at safe and rich part of Cancun downtown. I had kimchi soup and ramen and it was absolutely delicious. Hispanic staffs are super nice. Korean manager lady was also very nice and even called taxi for me. This is the ONLY Korean restaurant in Cancun so don't look further. If you Google Korean restaurant, there's another one called "Gangnam Style." They're closed. I wasted $20 in taxi trying to look for that place! read more

This place is legit, authentic Korean food in the middle of Cancún. Some of the best I've ever had. If you venture out of the Hotel Zone and want something a little different, I highly recommend. Super attentive and lovely staff and a fun place to go with a group. The only thing that I wouldn't give a 10/10 was the short rib, but everything else was out of this world. Late review... BUT, in July 2021 my Korean girlfriend and I visited the only KBBQ spot in Cancun while we were on baecation. We want to go back to Cancun just to eat her food again. I forgot her name, but the owner's wife was speaking with my girlfriend in Korean and to me in Spanish, so it was the best of both worlds! It was amazing how the owners properly introduced the Korean culture in Mexico; my girlfriend said the vibes are just like Korea. This restaurant is a le carte, but there are some combo deals. It's expensive only if you compare the prices of street food in Cancun, but given the high quality meat, rich authentic Korean flavors and experience, it's well worth the visit. The thoughtful owners also created a menu with cheaper options, so those are worth looking at as well. The food is really good! We will be visiting them again, soon! read more

My parents literally cannot go more than a few days without eating Korean food. The first day we arrived to Cancun, my dad could not stop talking about this restaurant he found, even though it would be about a 25 minute drive from our hotel. I was curious about how Korean food in Cancun would taste and was surprised about how fun and unique of a dining experience this was. I would even go as far to say that the BBQ here is better than some I've had in New York, where I live. We only ordered the marinated galbi, and I loved it. They can accept USD and credit card, but I'm not sure about what fees you'd have to use for your card. read more
