Excellent fresh food, friendly staff, off the beaten path location. This place is a gem. The Carolina pork platter was delicious and my husband's cowboy burger was fresh and tasty. The owner is the most unprofessional... don't try and complain about anything, he'll likely intentionally burn the raw food you sent back, or come out and tell you are crazy if something isn't right. To top it off, the food is off and on...sometimes good and the next is awful, over cooked or soggy. But it's always pricey. Been eating here for years...always hoping for the best. Will not go there again. 3 of 5 people ordered pork chops, each came with 2 pork chops, when the 3rd person received their dinner he only received one. He asked the server and he said he would bring another one. He brought the chop and nothing else was said. When the bill came it had $28.00 for the original dinner and $12.00 for the extra chop. When the waiter was asked about it all he said was you will have to talk to the owner. The Owner was a rude fowl mouth and cussed and yelled about how that was the way it was. The Owner was then told that he was not paying for it, at which time the Owner became more hostile and loud and told the customer that he was going to call the police. Not wanting to cause the police any problem the customer paid the money. The officers did nothing but talk to everyone involved and did nothing. Izaak's may be the only restaurant in Craig but its the last time we, or any of our many fishing enthusiasts will go there. I am sure the Covid was rough on his business but behavior like this is uncalled for. read more

Loved their fresh salads and their exotic ingredients. Definitely off the beaten path but it's located right next to the river and provides a beautiful view. It has the only ATM in town which would have been nice it that was posted outside the building. The staff were nice and helped us as quickly and efficiently as they could. Wouldn't mind going back for their steaks. read more

Oh my word! Who knew you could get food like this in Craig, Montana? It's got atmosphere and good food. Excellent fish and chips. Full bar. It's pricey, but, come on, you're in the middle of no where! When you consider what the other options are within driving distance, this place is a god send. read more

Stopped in at about 4 pm on a Sunday for an early dinner. Rustic, as would be expected in a place like Craig. Prices were not rustic. We had walleye and chips, a hamburger, a beef brisket sandwich and two desserts. The desserts were 5 star-the ice cream is homemade and the orange creme brulee used real vanilla beans. Wanted some ribs for an appetizer, they were not ready yet. The brisket was dry, but the BBQ sauce was excellent.The walleye and chips were amazing. Great selection of local beers, a very short single malt scotch list and what seemed to be a pretty decent wine list. The hamburger was good, but had just a plain white bread bun. 4 lunch entrees, 1 beer, 3 glasses of wine and two desserts ran about $130. It would be a great place to eat after fishing the Big Muddy. read more

A group of friends and I went there after a day on the river. They wouldn't sit us for 20 minutes because not all of our party was there yet... Nevermind they held a table for 8, we just couldn't sit there and have beverages and appetizers. When we finally got seated, we had to wait another 20 minutes to order food. When we got food: 4 Hamburgers were bloody, pasta plates had what appeared to be canned pasta sauce, the panini had the worst cuts of meats, and the brisket was all fat. At that point we had to ask for our appetizers. The drinks we ordered were tequilla based drinks but came with rum. When we complained about the one item that was in edible the waitress still tried to charge us and proceeded to say something snarky everytime she came to the table. Then she proceeded to tell us the kitchen staff knew we were upset before we even say down. That would explain the terrible food. We spent a decent amount of money because there were 8 of us so that alone you would think they would make an effort, but no. If you have a medical condition that prevents standing for a long period of time, don't go without all of your party. I've been to a few good establishments in my time and the staff at Izaak's act like this place should be one of them. It's not. Go to Helena, Wolf Creek, Great Falls, Ulm, or bring food but I wouldn't recommend Izaak's. The type of seating policy and attitude doesn't even fly in places like Jackson, Park City, Deer Valley, etc. where there are multiple quality establishments. read more

We walked out before being greeted or waited on. If bartender had any less personality, he'd be a door. He did manage to get some energy when what was obviously a high tipper crowded in to get his drink before the other five people could be acknowledged. I don't need to go back there. read more

The owners seem intent on milking the tourist/fisherman traffic with high prices and mediocre quality while totally discouraging local diners.Looking at the other reviews is important. The restaurant changed hands recently and the reviews written this year are spot on. The bartender and manager/chef suck. Some locals have reported being sick after eating there. Others have reported being refused service even though the restaurant was still open.We are not going back until it gets sold again. It is the only restaurant in Craig, so they get away with crappy service and being rude to guests. The waiter was very impatient for us to order instead of allowing us to savor wine and conversation before dining and the place was practically empty. In short: if you are fishing out of Craig, bring your own food. read more

Izaak's is quite good, and not because it is "the only game in town". The kitchen talent delivers each day; the soup du jour will sell out. Some of Izaak's charm is the wonderfully nice people of Craig. It can get crowded and busy on the weekends, but they manage to feed the invading armies, too. read more

The food and service at Izaak's are outstanding. There aren't many places that you can spend all day on a blue ribbon trout fishing river, load up your boat onto the truck, then walk over to a restaurant and have a fabulous blackened salmon & Caesar salad with a local beer. There's also the added bonus of periodic live original music on the log jam (outside stage and dancefloor). We live in Helena and regularly bring out-of-town guests here for dinner. read more

Izaak's is surprisingly good for being located in a town that is little other than a tiny fishing area that caters to anglers on the Missouri River. The food is really quite remarkable. It is the only restaurant in town, apart from a few burrito and taco shops. We were in Craig for four days of fabulous fly fishing on the MO, and really enjoyed great ribs and smoked brisket. While the service is slow and uninspired, the eats were terrific! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Got off the river and thought I would give it a try. It was 4:40pm when I walked in the door. It said the restaurant was closed, but the bar was full. Waited for a few minutes to see if anyone would greet us, was was totally ignored. I walked up to the bar and asked the short-haired blonde bartender if they were serving food. As she rolled her eyes, she gave me an exasperated "No, not yet". I asked, "what time?" And she replied "5". I looked at my watch which said 4:47. I asked if my wife, 5-year old daughter and I could sit and order drinks until food is ready to be ordered (13 minutes, right?). She petulantly said "we don't do that kind of thing. You will have to talk to the manager". So, we waited...and no manager came out. I didn't want my daughter standing at the bar, so we stepped outside, but nobody came. By 5pm, I decided just to go back to Helena and had a great meal there, probably for a lot less money and the service was spot on. So, either this bartender is an idiot at Izaaks and should be fired before she drives off any more customers, or the management/owners are desperate to go out of business. Reality is, I will never step foot in the place again despite floating the river from Craig quite often and I will be sure to share with everyone I encounter. Congrats, Izaaks, on being one of the worst restaurants in the region. Go back to California or wherever you are from, because Montana doesn't want you. read more

Never eat here! Worst service EVER! Food was awful, so greasy and way over priced. I've only had the unfortunate opportunity to HAVE to eat here twice in my life. Both experience we had issues with our credit card charges. First time my card was charged twice and the second time the server charged the wrong card and returned to the table with someone else's card. The chef, John called me a fat ass when my boyfriend complained that we had no bottom bun to our burger we split. It's because when I cut it in half(while patiently waiting for my card back 20 min later) it was so soggy it was disintegrated and mush. He also followed the comment by saying I was talking about my shaved pussy at the bar with the bartender. I wouldn't have even had the opportunity to have a disgusting conversation of that nature since I couldn't even get her attention for one, to let her know the order was wrong, two to take my drink order while I had to wait for the food we had called in, three for her to take my card and four to let her know she gave back some other persons credit card while someone else had my card. Rest assure I will NEVER be back and I will be sending this messages to as many social media sites as possible. I wouldn't even give it one star but I was forced to choose something. How dare an owner of a restaurant say things like that about the people who keep him in business. It's disputable and so hurtful. read more
